Thread: Challenge: Find a new good idea we haven't covered before
Dang those rangers stealling all our business! Nerf the Rangers!!!
What am I on today anyway???
Hormones probably, I'm "due" sometime this week.
Tal-N, you didn't inspire me to come up with something better, you inspired me to think you are too wrapped up in theme to make any kind of sound judgment on gameplay or even *gasp* fun. ![]()
Cloning stations and doctors' rez are indeed needed game mechanics, saying that one more spin on something that is already in game would break the continuity is just silly.
Just curious, how does the whole "search for a holocron, master multiple professions that have no apparent order, birth a completely new padiwan" sit with you? I would think that would be a lot more upsetting to you than allowing one prof to have access to something in some small way that is already in game and could enhance gameplay for many. ![]()
How about a tailormade plague? One designed to wipeout one species and leave the rest intact. Maybe one species like, plodding falumpaset or graul Mauler.
well one can dream can't we.
I'm stumped for ideas, everything I think of seems to fall into an earlier area. But how about a set of smart photochromatic cells that a tailor could add clothing, to allow the owner to change the color on command.

Ok leave the rangers alone, you already know I'm one of them. ![]()

That's because it's the theme of starwars which I like about the game, people complain all the time that this doesn't feel like the starwars universe so why introduce more elements to move even further from that. As i said there's two ways to look at critisism, you can either run from it or rise to overcome it.
I don't understand how taking a game element already in play and making it accessable to a new class w/ a twist could possibly be considered an introduction, but I guess you have a much higher understanding of both the star wars continuity and gameplay in general than I do. Personally, I have a lot harder time believing that large objects can be created w/ a tiny crafting station in your inventory no matter where you are than I do swallowing that a BE, who's major function deals with cloning, could somehow do the same thing with a body that already happens in a cloning facility. Although, admittedly, you seem to have a much greater insight than I could ever hope to attain. Thank you for your gift of criticism and I will strive to overcome it in each of my subsequent posts.^^
Ok I've got an idea we should be able to take a dna sample from a player then use it to make an army of clones that cna only be usable by the BE that made him! It would be glorious!!!glorious Isay!(lol j/k)
On a serious noteI think we've got some good ideas going here, I think it would be cool for us to be able to bio-engineer limbs for people that have advanced strength etc., I also think we should be able to make different types of implants that give various mental abilities like maybe advanced sight, night-vision and so on.

Tal-N dear, you're shooting your own thread in the foot. Can't brain storm effectively if you knock down every idea that comes in.
Actually a hydroponics system is less about flora and more about good old O2. Not really needed on zippy little ships, but vital on something you're going to spend months living in, even if it's nothing more than a tank of algae that the average passenger never even sees.
Another idea for ships, wouldn't it be cool to clone one of those tentacled garbage eaters? Maybe not practical, but still cool.
How about temporary species buffs? I know that species change has already been discussed, but what about medication that will temporarily give you the bonuses and weaknesses of another species. Wookiee strength? Zabrak willpower?
prolly not a new idea, but a new application. Camps have been broken forever, in that they dont repell animals. this is going to be fixed of course, but once it is working, it would be nice to be able to add a bio engineered tissue to camp construction that would either increase the repell radius, or it's effectiveness, or the heal rate of the camp. Im not taking away from scouts/rangers, im helping them.
