Thread: Probot vs Non-CH Pet
NancyJ, it's pretty obvious by now that you are not listening. Tal-N laid it out really well and quite clearly, as did the DE who posted here. My guess is that your market geared towards selling non-CH pets. With the upcoming DE publish, that market is going to be carved up a bit with DE's getting some of that "pie". DE's vs BE's is, as the DE poster said, "top of their market, bottom of yours".
Whether the publish is balanced or not remains to be seen, but it is way past time DE's got a revamp. In point of fact, DE's should get the ability to build Droidekas and other good combat-related 'bots. It is Star Wars after all.
And before you ask, I'm a Master Creature Handler.
Now go ahead and one-star this. And please, by all means, continue to b*tch, moan, and complain that you can't get your way.

5k/3k/2k HAM Dewback Vs Probot with 25% resists (best armour modules give 40%)
I have full combat logs if anyone wants to see them but the short version is the probot pwned my dewback.
Not just won by a slight margin, absolutely owned, he wasnt even on half health.
In publish 7 our non-CH pets are getting nerfed *again* and droids are getting 'combat' modules.
Already a probot beats our pets no question, so how can they say that our pets are STILL overpowered and at the same time say droids arent powerful enough?!

secondly when was the last time you called your droid and pet at the same time?
You cant. Not a probot, not even a crafting station or mouse droid can be called with your CL10 pet
It was put back in with publish 7. You can have both a pet and a droid out at the same time.
I can't believe some of the people posting here. We in the DE community have been pulling for BE's since the launch of the game. They were the overlooked bio equivelant of the Droid Engineers. Reject brothers in arms. You guys got a really coolpatch that made your crafting of creatures neat and unique. You can sell a pet to anyone in the game, from lvl 5 Durni's to lvl 70 Kimogila's. On top of this you now get to sell stuff to even make chefs alot more interesting and tailors spam the town centers looking for bio-cloth. When is the last time you actually saw someone spamming to buy a droid ??
Now we are finally getting some attention and you are screaming to nerf it before it even goes live ??Instead of nerfs, whichis all we have gotten in the past, we are finally getting some positive attention and you want it removedbefore it even goes in ???
Personally, I find this thread in very bad taste.
If you do please log on now and try to call it the same time as your droid - you cant, I know you cant - I'm online right now and I know that its not possible.
Secondly no-one in this thread is calling for droids to be nerfed - what we're saying is that it cant be justified to call our pets overpowered and in the same breath say droids are underpowered
I havent seen any mention of it in the patch notes for publish 7
Wow, some good stuff said here, and some stuff said that shows people will talk just to hear themselves. You can guage mine for yourself
My take is this: Whatever you call them, droids and creatures than can be handled by anyone without the investment of skillpoints are Non-CH pets. Going along with the SWG premise that crafteditems arealways supposed tohave the chance to bebetter than the found equivalents, then we can eliminate "found" pets from this equation (sorry CH's, you can still buy anicer one from me
This leaves us with crafted bots and crafted beasts.
Since both are usable by the general populace, they are in direct competition for market share. If SWG is trying to keep balance, then the 2 should have comparable attributes in and out of combat. Even if a fight between my Level 10 Grrcat and my Probot came out dead to the wire even, my droid would have more intrinsic value due to the fact that it contains a +110 Medical component, Food Crafting Station, and/or storage of some sort.
NOTE: I am not saying that a probot should not kick the crap out of a Grrcat in general (although we all know we could make a high level Grrcat that shouldn't even feela probot) but what I am saying is that there have always been tradeoffs between pets and droids.
It used to be the fact that you couldn't heal a droid, but could heal a pet. Thatmight have beena bit too strong on the pet side due to the prevelence of normal and pet stims, which is why you see a lot of creature-pets, but few droids running around these days. But now, what is the trade off? You get a pet that you can heal, that has medium armor and 40% resists, all sorts of crafting or other add-on units and the tradeoff is you have to carry an extra crate around (of batteries) and stop and feed it once an hour?
Can my Kaduu mount hold things in its saddlebags? Can my cuddly bunny heal mind wounds with its cuteness? Can my class 10 anything stand up in any way to the current battle droid? No, nope, uh-uh. The only benefit other than roleplaying was in healing these creatures. And maybe specials, although not the strong ones, and apparently some (KD) don't work.
So why does anyone want a Non-CH creature again, when they could have a Non-CH next gen battlebot?
I like giving people a reason to have more droids around, and like that they might have some usefulness in combat, but does that mean I shouldn't be able to make something comparable? Maybe it does. Maybe we are becoming a supplier class for the chefs and tailors of the world, with only CHs interested in our pet making abilities. That would be sad, but not entirely surprising.....
