I agree that they shouldn't release the EXAXCT figures, but if I make a template that says CL 9 that should be the end of it. period.

The fact that nearly every creature that we make is unique is the thing that makes BE great, but I'll be damned if I'll accept the curent system of making a pet to the level I want then quaking with fear every time I pull it out wondering if the invalid gods will today declare it invalid and bump the level up to 5 higher than I can control.

I don't need exact numbers but I'd settle for some general guidelines. What is factored in determining CL and how is it weighted? I have a valid10 right now with dizzy, ranged, and 3.5kish HAM 45-55 dmg. I tore my hair out tonight getting ones that were below 2k ham, intimidate/stun,ranged and 40-50 dmg, but could not get them under cl 12 in cu pa skins. For me, the past few hours were nothing but an exercise in futility. It could just be some new rule where 2 specials = invalid or one of those two specials, but then again, for all I know, the only real difference is the cl gods decided that tonight, no non-ch cu pa mounts shall be created in my little corner of the galaxy while they can be done successfully in someone else's little corner on the other side of the server.

Well put, Buboo!

I too like the uniqueness of our craft but have pet checks that seem to prevent valid pets from being creature yet allows over-powered pets is very frustrating. Especially since there appears to be no easily understood guidelines about what is allow and what is not.

It is much like having to put together an all-black, frameless puzzle. You won't know if a piece fits (is valid) unless you try it and in the process of trying the piece you have a high probability of losing that piece forever.

Maybe, the petitions wording is more objectionable to some than the intended meaning behind the petition.

You know, as a master doc too, we get to experiment on the Ease of Use of our meds. Basically this allows people to use things like Stim Cs with only Pharmacology 3 and a meduse lvl of 30.

Perhaps something like that could be incorporated into making pets - you could spend some experimentation points to lower the CL, or pump them into other stats.

That or just have a hard cap for non-CH pets and make our lives a lot more boring but simpler (pretty much like doc buffs now... though I love have all 2K buffs!)

how about they just develop (and tell us) the consistent method for determining creature level.

Since after all it isn't HAM strictly that matters, resists, damage specials and ranged attack should matter I guess.

As a longtime MCH and currently building a BE the old fashioned way (making pets, not grinding nutrients), I do agree that something needs to be done. I've had a number of customers pets become invalid. I'm about halfway (2,0,4,3) thru BE and have been trying to come up with a simple, close to home, consistent nonCH formula and it's rather difficult to get sub-10 as it is, but when we finally do, now nine times out of ten it will still be invalid anyways.

I don't think there should be exact limits for them to show us as I'm sure it's based on a formula taking differentattributes of the petinto consideration. I do however think that the level shown on the deed should match the pet that is called and we shouldn't be able to create an invalid pet. It seems SOE has the game using two different formulas; one to determine the level at creation of the pets, and a different one to determine if the level of a called pet matches its stats. It should be the same formula, but remember we're dealing with SOE.

IMHO
