Thread: ALL BE'S : please read
30K?! Holy mackerel!
Nah, my customers would up and leave.
I sell untamed kaadu for 2k on the bazaar, and they barely sell. The smart players will buy them now before I go to 3k. Come on... really, Kaadu?! They're gag pets I give to my friends so they can have their very own killer attack duck. When (or if? really... we're BE here, we know how SoE promises work) mounts go in, IF sales pick up DRASTICLY, then maybe I'll raise the price of my kaadu.
Sorry I can't take a duck seriously.
Dewbacks, etc? Yea, that's going to be pre-arranged sales, but since I don't have a shred of merchant skill (and thus no vendor) my bulk public sales outlet is the bazaar.... kinda makes my top price for whatever I sell 3000 credits eh? Not a problem really I'm making a killing selling 1 shot pet vit pack A's. Not raising my prices till after I get a handle on making vit B's.
Have fun playing the market kids, I'm doing just fine making an honest product and selling it for an honest price. My harvesters will never run dry with the funds I'm bringing in.

It seems there may be a bit of misunderstanding here as to what will likely occur on the market. If you try to sell a statue of a creature that can grow up to be a mount for 20-30k, you will find it sitting on your vendor a long, long time. If however you sell a fully grown, fully trained mount for 20-30k, people will probably pay for that. Why? Well there are 2 reasons-
1. You had to be MCH to give it the mount command.
2. It spent 7 days growing in your datapad.
It seems many are reading what the MCH's plan to sell mounts for and are thinking clone statues will go for that. Wrong. You will find novice CH's grabbing mountable creatures at CL10 and taking them to a MCH for a training fee if you want to charge that.
Dude, you obviously a) don't bother to read this forum at all, and b) don't play as a BE much. Struggling? huh, hardly. I'm not even a master yet and make 100's of k a week in profit from pet stims alone.
Also, since the best mounts we have can be made by noobs I doubt we'll have any pricing power at all when it comes to mounts, a serious design flaw by Sony but oh well. I've been doing a little "testing" of the market, pricing Spats, Kadus, and Dewbacksat 10k in a store with a lot of traffic. Know how many I've sold at that price? 1 Spat, 0 Kadu, 0 Dewbacks.
Pets are icing. The cake is made of tissues, pet stims and vitality packs. Food enhancements are paprika, which you don't want anywhere near the cake.

Same results here too. But I'm not changing my pricing because I don't want to keep having to fill my vendor with 3k credit pets. I'd rather be busy making stims, vits and tissues where they fly off my vendor at great profit (spending the time hunting the resources, doing missions, etc...). If someone buys the pets on my vendor, great, I'll restock it. But I'm not going to waste time on chump change. Time is money.

Bol and Brackaset- 25k
Falumpaset- 15k
dewback- 10k
carrion spat and kaadu- 7500
believe me i ould charge more for dewback, carrion spat and kaadu but they are so easy to come by it's ridiculous. I could easily charge 35k for bols and have them fly out of my inventory. I believe there are no babies in the wild so thats the big moneymaker right now.

This begs the question. I know Bols are fixed in the Test Center. But will the Bols we create *now* be tamable after the patch (ala factories had to be redeed before they worked) or only Bols created after the patch will be tamable. I personally wouldn't want a ton of angry customers banging on my door (and for 35k a pop they'll be banging alright if they can't tame/mount the Bol they bought pre-mount patch).

Bravo! Good thread. If anything this thread has given an idea to BE's making mounts of how much How much money they can make by selling mounts. If you wanna pump out your 70 Kaadus for 2k each go ahead. I personally think its a big waste of time of resources, but thats just my opinion.
As someone else said, most people in this game are rich already. Either from crafting or hunting. So if you feel that you are doing the 'right' thing by selling someone with 1 mill credits in the bank a 2k Carrion Spat, then I hope that makes you sleep better at night.
I too will be making free mounts for friends and who knows, maybe even include a free mount with a large crate order of stim. But as far as feeling guilty of overcharging? This is a game, the money is gained by having fun! Im not taking food out of any childrens mouth.
30k for a lvl 10 mount may be excessive, Im thinking more around 15-20k. I think the prices on www.bioengineer.com should take that into account, but its not my website.
I use the prices on that site as a guideline, but modify them for supply and demand and how much effort I put into the pet. All my pets are made from either great or good components, no cheap stuff. I also do DNA pair matching on everything, even the lvl 10 Mounts.
You also have to think about this, do rich people shop at the dollar store? No, they go for the high-priced quality products.
So, everyone will sell there mounts for what they will. For the BE's that are selling higher, its all about how you market yourself and your product. Dont worry about the people pumping out the cheap stock, theyre the only ones that are really losing out.

ROFL wow I got quoted in a thread! WOOT! =)
Honest I don't mean to imply folks are being somehow dishonest by making a profit. We are capitolists, this is what we do.
I just think maybe 30K is a bit extreme... but then, I think $210 labor IRL is a bit extreme to build a computer and install Windows on it too... but ya know it's the best price around and I charge it.
I had hoped folks would pick up on the fact that the most that can be charged from those of us that use the galactic bazaar is 3000 (that's 3K) for whatever we sell... I suppose if I could somehow split the pet up into 10 parts I might sell stuff for 30K.
I had also hoped that folks trying to make some sort of "deal" with the rest of us and using a bit of peer pressure by implying those who don't adhere to the deal are inferior is somewhat absurd. The devs have created an avenue to drive their ideal economy and have price fixed the most expensive item in the game (bazaar-wise) to 3000 credits. Maybe that's an effort to get folks to create their own economy using the vendor system, but if I have to spend 20 skill points to hire a vendor, they can take a flying \edit\ I'm not doing it. I'm a skilled craftsman and a hunter, I am not a merchant and have no intentions of being one.
So really if folks have fun in the game by having 1+ million credits in their bank account, that's awesome... buy kaadu from me for whatever low price I've come up with, then turn around and sell 'em for 100% or more markup... that's what a free market economy is all about.
Sooo, if there's a market out there for a $30,000 kaadu... awesome, mayhap I'll sell 'em at that, but right now, I don't see them moving at 2000, so why in the world would I even try to sell one at 30000?

... of course with holocrons telling people to completely remake their characters several times over, I suspect finding any skilled labor will soon be hard to do reliably.
