I'm sorry. I don't believe in price fixing, nor price gouging. My prices will remain unchanged. I don't see charging someone 20k for something that takes me less than 5min to make (even when making good quality) as a reasonable price at all. Sorry if you don't like it. but hey it's as you say economics.

I am just sending this out about mounts. I have been reading ALOT about the mounts when they hit the servers. And for the most part, most of us will be selling between 20-30k, simply because of the fact that EVERYONE will be on a mount. And we must not cut each others throat. If we all stick together and sell em for 20-30k, then the public will have no choice but to pay this amount. High Demand=Price Increase which is simple economics.

I gotta pass on this one. A lot of people seem very fixated on trying to set a fixed price on goods, across profession. I always have an always will set my own prices, based on the time, trouble and resources i puyt into it as well as my own view on the current market situation.

Added to this.. a quick reality check, there has been an attempt to set fixed prices for pretty much every crated item in this game at one time or another, to the best of my knowledge, none has managed this yet. Trying to set /enforce a fixed price is only an invitation to go with a lower price for those who want to make an extra profit.

And yes, if a wholesaler wants a ton of mounts, if the BE is willing to make em by the crate, then nock a % off and give em a deal. But the point is we are a struggling proff. and must stick together. If nobody can accept this, then maybe u should change proff. , because all you going to do is hurt the market for the rest of the serious BE's.

Struggling proffession?!... in the sense that we have a large amount of bugs, and is currently unable to fullfill the role a lot of us were hopeing for when we signed up (designing / cloneing high quality pets) sure.. were stuggling some.. Economically, hardly, no man, woman or wookiee that can make a decent pet stim pack should have to send thier rock beetles to bed hungry. If your struggling to make a fair income as a MBE maybe your the one who should change proffession rather than tell the rest of us how to run our buisnesses

And a tip, look at the website SWGBioengineer.com , maybe some peeps will learn.

No since in nerfing ourselves ):lightsaber

heh.. funny you should mention the priceguide on swgbioengineer.com, that price has already been the subject of a fair amount of flames. For some the guide is way off, both in terms of the going rate on the server and what the BE him/her self has already found to be a good price for his/hers own use.

The short version, thanks, but no thanks

When I first ordered this game from the states (yes I am from Europe), I started looking over what I could find about the different professions on the net. Two of them inspired me, the weapon smith and the bio-engineer. The later seamed to have the most RP potential, and did not seam like a profession that would be over run.
So I became a bio-engineer, not to get huge amounts in by character bank account, but to play the profession, to craft and experiment. So I will NOT take part in some skime to line the pockets of the profession as a hole. My character will accept arranged prices if approached and the prices are to out ragouts.

Vogoid if you are more interested in amassing credits then in crafting then perhaps it is you who is not a "serious BE".

Why should your Carrion Spat be worth more next week than it is this week? Now you are starting to sound like the CHs.

I thought about doing that too Starbase, but then the holocron craze hit, and I still want to buy a frenzied graul, and I bowed out on a 700dmg FWG5 auction, and and and and ... hehe millions spent stack up quickly.

That and I'd shudder once word got out that "Hey Sumo is doing mounts for free!" OMG I"d never get to play LOL.

it is not really a flavor of the week it has changed from being a completely useless pet into becoming a viable commodity ... a luxury item if you will .... Mercedes does not pay 10x more for thier steel to make a car ... yet they charge substantialy more for the luxury. This is what we are doing ... charging for the luxury .

You can try to price fix all you like .. but considering CH's will be the ones training them to be mounts .. why should the average joe pay 20-30k for your 'mount' that he/she will have to take to a Ch who'll charge x amount of dollars to tame .. ALSO .. why would they want to pay that money when a CH can get the same mount in the wild and sell it for lets say 10-15k?

Not to mention with NON-CH's getting the boot as far as having pets go ... I'd love to see you try to mount a fanned rawl or some other sub 10lvl pet.

With the impending CH nerf, it would seem that the people who would actually be able to use the mount would be the same people potentially able to tame the mount themselves.

So with that being said, even if a CH doesn't have the mount training command, they'll take it to a CH who can train it for lets say 5k. Thus knocking the Bio Engineer out of the equation altogether.

Besides people are not completely stupid. Especially those who have been around the game for a bit and know that vehicles are coming out soon. So why pay20-30k for a 'beetle' no pun intended when they can pay potentially double that amount for a ferrari?

Considering I am Master of both sides of the pond, I will be charging roughly 20k-30k for the clone. Training comes free if they wish to contact me. I'll put that in the description. Anyone who sells too cheap will pull their hair out at the initial demand. Even all the high level CH's will have their hands full. I imagine most don't have a heap of slots available at those levelsfor a ton of kaadu and carrion spats. Making a ton of them on the other hand, and storing them somewhere, means I can make a ton of mounts in a short amount of time. 20-30 for the convenience of getting a mount without waiting on a CH to get one, and having it trained too..I think that kind of convenience for someone is worth that much. I can also make a cheap pop on stims and vitals, lol.

Even though it's bad for my sanity, the first week or so for mounts, I will be catering to as many CH and Non-CH who wants a mount.

Price fixing?

No thanks.

I'll sell *my* product at a price *I* decide. I usually base it on cost, time and fun. (Yes, oddly enough some of my sales are fun.)

I sell untamed mounts at 3-5k each, 11k+ rancors and gurreks at 25-30k each. I'll happily make stuff to order, price negotiable based on urgency, volume, complexity and whether I think I'll have the time/resources to do it.

I sell +13 and higher tissue enhancements at a flat 1k each, in crates of 5's and 10's.

I'm not going to *raise* my prices just because someone else wants to make even more profit. How about you *lower* your prices instead?

I know who the other BE's are that helped me with training, I'll try not to compete in their portion of the market, or throws stuff on the bazaar to undercut them.

But I also know just how much money can be made. So far I'm averaging about 1 million credits gross every two weeks without even trying hard, and about half that is profit. I don't *need* to raise my prices.

Because I am a Master, I will only make master pets. THe only mediocre stuff is for furniture. THey can find 500 credit Kaduus inthe bazaar. ok, but dont complain when it runs the wrong way . Having said that, I am set up for making Gurrecks and Rancors and can not sell too cheap if I am using the same materials. So I have the Kaduus and Spats on the trader for 5k and am selling many. People buying in advance will be rewarded. But I will raise the price when the last minute shoppers come through. And still sell them for the 5k to my regular customers.

I am UNCLEAR on.....

Natures Kaduu... like the "Female Kaduu". What is its CL?

What CH will be able to tame a mount? I heard Management IV and Master CH

Sure hope it is Management IV. Masters will be annoyed by this.

It's Training IV that's needed to train an animal as a mount, I believe. Not 100% sure on that, but I am sure that you don't need Master.

from what i've heard on test, its empathy 4 to train mounts and the male/female kaadu wont be "mountable". only 'a kaadu' will be and that gives us the lions share of that market since its the lowest CL that isn't butt ugly and we can more than out produce the CH loners who will never buy from us since 'a kaadu (baby)' is a very rare thing.
