Thread: The bugged clones are spreading!!

My only concerns are:
1- their fix ruining the fun we are having with BE now
2- their fix making it so non-CHs, and CH dabblers dont have worthwhile pets

My consolation prizes
1- Their fix causing a slew of other problems which I will avail myself of
2- Their fix totally destroying your profession (as a result of 1 and 2 above) which will be poetic justice payback for you guys bringing about 1 and 2 to begin with

Its like one of the posters said on another post "thier nerf bat doesnt do surgical strikes."

I really don't think that those clones are bugged at all... I just think it is a fair balancing act for BE's in general. A CH can SOLO mobs that I could never dream to touch because of his pets. A CH is needed to tame all Creatures and mounts. A BE can only makesome Nastycreatures with patience and perseverance... a BE can make tissues that will go into Clothing and Food that provide bonuses to skills. Sounds very balanced to me.

You contention is that because CH's can control more then one pet that makes it balanced for you to have a CL10 pet with the stats of a CL40 pet inthe wild? And that CH's should jsut be happy to train these uber pets for weaponsmiths, commandos, combat medics, bounty hunters, etc. to use? They should be happy to be no longer be invited to large hunts becasue everyone there already has a 10k HAM pet with 48% to all resists? Sorry, that is not balanced and does not fly if you sit down and really think about it. BTW these bugged oets do not take any patience or perseverence, jsut three nocuous kamurith DNA samples (which are very easy to collect), 2 yard trash DNA samples (gnorts, gubbers durni, etc), and three experimentation points on a single combine.

I have seen Level 5 Nargs with 10K hams, but as a non-CH the pet cannot be traded or transferred to me because I have no chance of controlling that creature. Only a CH can Call a Narglach no matter what level it is... and I have confirmed this. I assume theCL's for CHonly petsaffects only the total number of creatures that a CH can have out at one time.

However, the Blurrg that Ceedy mentions above exists.. I was able to have a similarcreature from that same Master BEtransferred to me and was able to call it from the datapad as a test that I was able to control it. I havezero CH skills.

There are a lot of Critters that BE's can make and it is HARD to make those cirtters with all the DNA sampling and experimentaion that goes into it. Out of all of the Cirtters that BE's can make... a CH can control several bad boys depending on their CL.. but the Non-CH player is still stuck with a limited selection of critters and yes the CL must be 10 or lower.

That Narglatch was just a skin around a generic template. It'san agressive skin, so you as a nonCH can't control that pet. If that generic DNA template had been put into a kaadu you'd have a powerful nonCH mount.

As long as the CL is 10 or lower and the skin is non-aggressive, anybody can control it.

I'm getting really sick of this arguement. If you don't have decent combat skills then NO you can't solo things. I'm a MCH/MBE who just recently gave up pistoleer. Guess what? I can't solo those mobs either now. Its not just because to pets that they can solo these things. Add to that the most effective combat combinations do NOT include CH. I'm aware of two class combinations that can currently solo a Krayt dragon having watched people do it on bets. Granted it took them about an hour to take the thing down but they could do it. Neither charater had CH. Having done Krayt hunts with 5 commandos and 5 CH's I have to say that a CH's best tank is not all that useful after the latest nerf. That hunt used to just take 2 MCH. Now it takes 5 MCH plus many stim/vitality packs. This for something thatnon-ch comboscan solo.

I think a lot of you guys are missing one key factor... I am a Master BE and I KNOW for a fact that all these people claiming 8k or 10k HAM are being evasive. What I mean is that they say 8k HAM when in fact it is just the HEALTH that is 8k, and maybe the action is 5k and mind 4k... or something to that effect I all but guarantee.

And on another note, these lvl 10 creatures made with reasonably high HEALTH have absolutely no attack prowess whatsoever which personally I don't mind, but some do. Thus, I am pretty sure that any dev fix on this will come with the CL calculation because as it stands now a MAJOR part of that calculation is attack power.

I've said my peace and am interested to know what you other Master BEs think!

8k H / 5k A / 4k M is all but equivalent to 8kHAM for anything short of PvP or very rare creatuers... why? Because most damage goes toward Health. There are some bleeds/poisons that nail other slots, but the majority of all PvE damage goes to the Health pool. Krayt-style encounters are an exception where loads of damage are poured out with a single attack... but thats not here nor there.

Just simply put, most damage goes to the Health pool, so those 5k/4k's are effectively higher.

On attack prowess, I've still yet to see an empirical study of the effect of To Hit or Attack. It is still a question to be answered though if 0.2 to hit is so significantly worse than 0.4 to hit to warrant the extreme drop in CL these creatures are experiencing.

Hope none of that sounds too in-your-face... not my intention given the touchy nature of the boards the last week. Just my take on it.

I sent Thuderheart a PM about this and he responded that this is a known issue and will be fixed soon. He will be posting about it in the weekly update. So take this as more third party information but stay tuned for the weekly update

Anarkis...

The problem is I am not yet a master and just 2 days ago I made a level 7 and the Ham was as follows (9Khealth-8KAction-7k Mind) and to top it all off the damage was 320..plus put the Poison and dizzy specials on it along with the 42% resist across the board.

I do not think there is any way one could say that was ever intended to be used by a non-ch. In my opinion there is no doubt this will be stopped.

What I am most concerned about is not that they will fix the non-ch pets, but what about the standard pets even I have been able to make using non-bugged dna. I am not even a master.

I just hope we do not go guardrail to guardrail with the obvious fix that is coming.

for those of you who actaulyl use these 10k ham pets, ivve yet to see one on valcyn, i knwo of ones twith 9500/7600/7400 ham and 45-49% kinetic resist, theyr good for soloing smaller stuff and medium stuff, but take em up to dathomir and they DONT LAST. we still bring graul maulers and kimogilas to dathomir, because they CANT hold up againt enemies with armor. now as to non-ch pets with armor thats absurd.

I think that until we know what the devs actually "intended" with the new system, all pets are suspect

It'll be interesting to see what TH has to say on the issue...

Well guys... I had bought a 10K HAM Strong poison all that good stuff gurrcat on Valcyn. I sold it back because of the bugs...and I feel there is a nerf coming for these super non ch pets. However I did buy another BE pet. But you need CL19 for it, still has no armor, but it hits for 400 and has 11K Health and 8K Action and 6.5K Mind. I feel that if these bio engineered pets actually have level like mine... then it wont bea problem. But I also think that, the wild creatures should be inferior. They are creatures from the wild....they have imperfections in there DNA. When you take really good blocks and samples of DNA and combine then and it works you get less imperfections and the best of both worlds. I really don't see the whining in the pets, just raise the Creature Level on the things and be happy. Its simple... whats gonna win... a normal wild gurrcat... or a geneticly altered gurrcat. The geneticly altered one will, it has less imperfections and more upgrades from different DNA. I think it should only be nerfed on the Creature Level....nothing else.
