Thread: level 35 with 60% kinetic
I really don't see a use for a pet with good Kinetic and Energy besides looks. If you have a fast creature it will force any ranged NPC into melee. Kinetic is the only thing you need to worry about for PvE. For PvP, Kinetic falls near worthless. If you're fighting melee you can poison and run with your pet. Otherwise you'll need the 3 big gun dmg types, Energy, Acid and Heat.
CL35 AR1 60Kin/Energy is a hard combo to get without multiple generations. It will have to be PvE only because Acid and Heat are so big in PvP.

If you are fighting higher level faction missions your pets are going to get hammered if they dont have some energy protection.
Also, no pet is really worth a d*mn in PvP since pets dont have any damage migration. They take full damage and deal out next to none. They all go down pretty quick unless you are fighting some newbie... any elite profession can and will drop any BE pets in under 15secs.

If you are running high level faction missions I am assuming you will have some good combat skills, to be able to get the mission and to be able to obtain faction from the mission. Faction missions are useless if you rely solely on your pets since you will not be getting any faction. Faction NPCs are pretty much a joke anyways, any master elite profession can slice through them with ease.
As for PvP, I've made many creatures capable to PvPing. Don't expect a CH to PvP with no combat abilities, but it is definetly one of the best additions to a fighter you can get.
- The "augmentation" from having your pets out can give someone much higher level missions then they could other wise "easily" solo. I am a MCH/MBE with only 0-1-0-2 TKA. Pulling the bigger faction missions I rely alot on my pets to draw and hold aggro while I go about picking them off one by one. If my pet didnt have some energy protection, atleast 30%, I would burn through way to many pet stims

- Realisticly, if you are a master of an elite combat profession, pets are worthless. A buff and comp armor makes you a far better tank then any pet you can get.
So, unlessone is a newbie and has no idea of the ins and outs of PvE, chances areone isntgoing to bother with a pet ifone hasany real good combat skills... There are a few exceptions... I know some MCH/Riflemen combos that can solo rancors that couldnt otherwise do so without a pet... but for the most part, for the average gamer, if you have a pet out chances are you need it due to less then perfect offensive capibilities on your part ![]()
As far as PvP, I have to say any person who pulls a pet in PvP (unless it is a rare wild with some nice AOA special) is just showing how much a newbie they are.
Any real PvPer knows to 100% ignore pets... Remember, pets get no damage migration. They do next to no damage. If a player has on some Ubese or Comp with a buff I dont care how super dupper that pet is it aint going to do jack or sh*t... and jack left town ![]()
Kill the owner then dispatch the pet.
ONLY exception to this rule is either:
- fighting newbies
- using rare wild pets with AOA specials (like the screecher)
However, if you pull out a pet in PvP bank on the fact it will loose vitality. Why anyone would want to pull out a super rare pet when 99 outa 100 times it is going to go down is beyond me.
I do hope they fix the issue with pets in PvP so that all these cool pets us MBE are making will actually hold their weight in PvP (IE give pets damage migration based on the skill of the CH).
Again, this is based on my experience from playing since September as a Master Creature Handler, Master Pistoleer, Master Bio-Engineer, amoung a few others ![]()
