To be real honest my experiences with customer service in SWG has actually been pretty good. I've submitted 3 customer service tickets in the time I've been playing. All have essentially been for the same thing: items lost in the "retreival" process of either the bazaar or the vendor. All 3 times I got a response back within 24 hours and they made what I felt was a reasonable effort to compensate me for the lost items with a minimum of fuss. The worst by far though was when I made a really nice CL 69 critter for a customer and it was lost during vendor retrieval (grrr by far the biggest problem this game has imho). She paid 100k and got nothing out of it, but once again she put in a bug and got her money refunded very quickly. True I had to make another critter for her, but I did get paid twice for it, and she only paid once for it and got her critter so everybody was happy.

Wow, I've had that happen several times and my customers haven't ONCE been refunded.

This is also the first time I've posted since CoH came out...I find it's quicker playstyle suits my schedule a bit better than the hours upon hours it seems to take to accomplish something is SWG (especially BE crafting). I like them both, but they certainly offer completely different gaming experiences.

You know, flaming that guy was totally uncalled for. He was giving honest advice on how to better enjoy this game.

I, for one, have been playing this game since Day One, and I've been a BE for quite some time as well. I've read a lot of the things Tal-N has written. Really, all his posts were full of the same kind of self-importance as his little Dear John letter in this thread. A lot of his posts were extremely negative and took a lot of cheap jibes at the Devs. He is frustrated with this game because it doesn't conform to his control-freak vision of how the game SHOULD be. He doesn't play the game for what it is. It's sort of like trying to ram a triangular block through a circular hole.

If someone not even a BE comes here and posts crap about someone and something he doesn't know jack about, he should expect a warm welcome.

This is not a flame, but I read, reread, and reread what you wrote, and I still don't understand what the heck you're trying to say. The entire thing is just broken sentences and thoughts scattered throughout.

You really should work on your writing and communication skills, friend.

Not only is the above stint into the workings of my mind the truth, but it is exactly the same approach the devs are taking to our profession. Not only do they seemingly fire any person who happens to simply understand 10% of how our code works, they simply dont care about us. As I see it, BE was a huge friggin mistake. It should never have been placed in the game. From the movies, how many examples of CHs were there? 3 in Clone Wars (2 of which got eaten by their own pets) and 1 in New Hope. How many Chefs did you see? Not house wives who cook to live, but honest to goodness chefs, whose magical food gave bigger muscles to it's consumers. None. Tailors? None. Our root goal in the game, for continuity, was to be aberation. We were someones creative license. A figment, born into the game from someone saying,"Hey, you know what would be cool?"

I, like Tal-N, agreed with that idiot. BE was the apes banana. Then the other Devs shot the ape, and left us out to turn brown and rot. This 'concerted effort' TH is placing on answering our questions is only a load of bs (has he actually answered anyones question with 'yeah, that's our bad, we are already fixing that'?), meant to sate us a little longer so they can take another 60 dollars from us before they will even look at our problem.

So if someone wants to come in here and flame us for telling it how it is, let em. it's prolly a guy being paid by SOE to provide damage control. If Kevm wants to flame him (btw, that wasnt a flame, that was nothing, trust me) let him. Who cares if he doesnt have a clue about the profession, or the bs it's been through.

in closing, i present to you the only word filtered by these boards simply because it isnt a curse word and is an acurate description about how this game used to be while we still had our ape: pokemon (p o k e m o n).

"CH is pokemon" looks a lot better than "CH is *******", even if pokemon is a registered trademark

The good part is playing with friends, working together.

Well to be fair it was only hanging out with Kimche on the game, as well as other friends who I talked with alot mainly because my real life sucked so much. Now that I'm living for real with Kimche and getting married in september my real life is so much more interesting than what used to be my on-line one. I guess people who find their on-line friends to be the reason to pay 14.99 a month must be in a similar situation to what I was. As someone else said the game itself requires alot of maintence in terms of time, it does become a second job and sucks up alot of time which is better spent in the real world.

LOL. First of all, it wasn't an attack. Second of all, if it was an attack it clearly doesn't attack "grammar". Looks like you need to work on your reading comprehension skills.

Let's get back on topic and discuss why Tal-N's Dear John letter was FOS.

Actually this was never the topic. The only one's who have had anything bad to say about Tal has been you and the other guy who has never posted before or since. Most ppl have had kind words and are sorry to see yet another knowledgable MBE to leave the profession.

We could instead talk about why your post is FOS tho, but what would be the point? The servers are up and I don't need to waste the time.

Wow.

Tal-N, you may remember me from the good old days of Bio Engineering. I was one of the first Master BEs on Bria and remained a Master for roughly 6 months or so. The funny thing of it is I rarely, and I mean rarely even visit the SWG forums anymore much less the BE forums.

Lo and behold, the one day I decide to drop by for old time's sake I come across a sad goodbye from you, the BE correspondent we never had.

For you youngsters to BE this guy was/has been the driving force behind the advancement of Bio Engineering. I remember the days of untamable pets, completely non-working tissue components, non-factory craftable tissue components, 1300 XP for sampling your own creation to death, tissue components with simply non-existent resource requirements, and trying our damndest to reverse engineer the creature creation process.

Good luck, Tal-N, and here's to hoping you find in CoH what SWG couldn't give you.
