I think you should be able to change races, or more importantly, change secondary stats. I love being a twi'lek, but I hate the crappy mind stats we get. I have never once been incapped because of action, so unless I'm going to be a dancer, why would I need it?

I know this is going to change in the CURB, but you are forced to make a decision on the limits of your characters stats before you ever have the knowledge as to what they mean. This uninformed choice is bad game design tbh.

There are issues with changing species, ie Imperials get penalties for being non-human/zabrak. If I wanted a nice ATST but didn't want to pay the extra 30% for being alien, then I could just switch to a human, then back again. Personally I think that faction penalties should be abolished.

All in all, without looking at the finer details of your idea (Sorry but I'm being lazy) I like the idea of different professions combining to alter your race. I don't see why it should be such a big problem, and with the devs forcing you to either re-roll or put up and shutup after making a forced uniformed decision, allowing race changes are a good idea.

I think it would quite worrying to find out that your best mate just turned into a sexy twi'lek female, you'd feel inclined to take him to candlelight dinners rather the pub :/
