Actually, I've put a few dozen 'Lab Accidents' on the bazaar for 3k. For example, that last exp point into phys failed, losing light armor, or 3 or 4 exp points failed, or neither of the specials came through, etc.

My prices have crept up, they may creep back down. I've sold several million credit pets, and have two more that people have offered one million credits for, but I haven't sold because they are my precious(es?)

I've sold a great many pets that are ideal for specific purposes for 100K - 750K. I've got a special order I filled for 100K cl ~35 pets with high kinetic and high heat- I made those and was immediately asked for two more. I am getting orders faster than I can fill them.

I left the game with 1.5 million credits. I came back two months later, and money flowed even more like water through the system. My problem is, I will never find a use for 1.5 million credits, much less the 5 million I have now. I've donated 1 million to our town. I give gobs of money to holocron chasers in our guild. I know lots of people with tens of millions of credits now.

So what is the pet worth? It is a shield that will essentially never, ever go away. It has tailored attacks for specials people will use for months and months. For tailoredspecific level pets, I probably spent 3 - 4 hours collecting and sorting DNA, and about 20% of combines still critical fail with the absolute best station, kit, and resources (8 mutant rancor samples now lost). Getting 100K almost isn't worth it anymore. And I know most of these guys have millions of credits on their own. I've been asking, and getting, top dollar because that is what it takes to validate the effort I put into it. Yeah, the million credits for a 68-70 gurreck with sweet attacks and defenses could go for 10 credits as easily as 1 million credits for all the good it will do me, but if I ask a million and get it, I know my work has been appreciated.

That said, I've made several deals for barter, even for things I don't want (but could maybe sell), including a million credit animal I traded for no credits at all. If someone earnestly wants a creature, I'm not going to be an ass about "my pets sell for X". If they approach me with "how can I get this, I love it", instead of "U overchrge, dewd, I saw a level 66 go 4 300K n coronet", I'm going to work with them.

Don't know if that helps you at all, but thats how I'm looking at it.

I like the way Annarion chargefor his pet

How abt other resistance? are they not important?

Is the demand for high level pet is greater then low level pet?

Annarion has a good scheme. DNA hunting is dangerous time consuming work. our tickets to planets like endor and back cost us around 6k, the moun gold used during sampling cost us, the deaths cost us in fees and item decay, then our resources (meat and flora) cost, then we need to consider our time which is considerable. i generally make a DNA run with a very light back pack and inv and dont go home till my inv is completley full. searching for the uber mobs to sample and getting around 100 samples per run takes a long time, especially if ur going for rancor dna. getting in on those suckers can take forever. i have been selling cl 30ish 10k ham light armor pets for around 75k each. I feel this is resonable considering how hard it is to make em. also I NEVER destroy lab mistakes. i have a zoo in my house of mistakes i use for 2nd gen DNA all the time. i get my clients order then check my zoo for comperable stats and sample them. saves me dna and time.

usually go about what I would pay for it on my MCH, sold a 59% kinetic lvl 55 gurreck for 150k stats were decent all around on the rest, a lvl 66 12k kimo, 42 kinetic 57, 97,13 to rest of stats sold for 200k, but after 3 critical fails after sampleing for 6 hours useing a 14.57 tool and 43 machine to make some more 60+ pets, I've went up on it

First, greetings to fellow BEs on flurry (Epak and Ibont).

Right now Imake custom pets, pets that are specifically tailored to the end-user. My personal standards are are 10K health minimum, armored and 60% kinetic. During the sale process I will typically spent at least 10-30 mins going though the requirements with the player asking questions such as:

1. Intended final use -PvP, PvE, factional PvE, all of the above, etc.

2. A choice of either 60% energy or 60% kinetic or both. If both, it will be very expensive and also an additional set of retrictions like reduced choice of specials.

3. Any other resists that are important? i.e. typically no for PvE, but yes for PvP.

4. Is Speed/To Hit/Damage important? As a 'trainer' pet, i.e. if someone wants to use it to train rifleman skills, low damage is priority. As a 'farming pet', high damage output is important.

5. Is there a CL limit for the player? I will typically try to push down the CL so that the MCH can have a second or even third pet.

6. HAM configuration? For general PvE, the priority is health, actionand then mind. For nightsister hunting/PvP, the priority is mind, health and action.

7. What two specials are they looking for? Typically it will be configured to suit their character. If its a rifleman, then I will create a strong poison/disease or a knockdown/strong poison pet. If its a CM, then a kd/dizzy. If its a meleer, the perhaps a crippling/dizzy or kd/dizzy.

8. Will this pet beusedsingly or as a double team (i.e. 2 x 35) or a triple team (i.e. 3 x CL23)? With the 3 x 23s, the specials might be kd/poison, kd/diease anddizzy/kd i.e. with redundancy built in.

9. Is this pet going to be used as a 'specialized' weapon? i.e. the idea would be for MCH to own a set of specializedpets fordifferent purposes. For example, the MCH could have 1 x 60% energy resistpet + 1 x 60% kinetic resistpet for an all round team. He can then swap out 60% kinetic for 2 x 60% energy resist petsfor some factional NPC hunting. Or 2 x 60% kinetic resist petsfor PvP. These can be swapped out fora pair of high mind/60% energy/45% kinetic resist pets to form a nightsister hunting team. They in turn can be swapped out for 2 very high damage with strong/poison/disease for a cash farming team where speed of kill is important. Buying 10 x generally all round but slightly inferior pets with an assortment of unplanned specials/stats might not be as good as a full datapad of specialize pets.

10. Then of course there's pet models. Do u want a gurreck or kimo? What kind of color? The running speed of the different pets etc. There might alsobe some user-specific requirements such as it has tolook 'harmless' (e.g. a CL70 fire-breathing kaadu) or look 'ugly' or etc.

And finally the price:

CL40+ 200K for thebase model. 300K if they choose the specials.

<= CL35 350K for the base model. 450K if they choose the specials.

<= CL23/24 700K for the base model. 800K if they choose the specials.

The reason why it is priced like this is that for the CL40+, you can possibly get away with it using just a first generation clones or 2nd generation clones. First generation typically is the mixing of the specials if it does not exists in the wild. For CL35, its typically 2-3 generation clones taking approximately 2.5-4 hrs to make end-to-end. And finally for the CL23s, its typically 4-5 generation clones taking approximately 6-8 hrs to make end-to-end. I will also typically make 2 and sometimes 3models and picking the best one that fits the requirements. The reason for this that when u make multi-generation clones, some of the stats can be abnormally bad due to failures and such. The more generations, the pet must survive more 'opportunities for crits'

Again, you gotta keep in mind that for a CL23-25 and CL35 to keep the 10K health + armored + 60% kinetic or 60% energy, the process must start from CL50+ dna.

On the flip side, our customers are typically MCH with a weapon skill mastered. I also have an 2nd a/c with a MCH/commando and earning 150K an hour is reasonably easy. In 2.5 - 3 hrs, I would be able to easily earn back what I have paid for a CL35 pet. For a pet that's 10K health, armored and 60%, i would it will be months before it needs replacing.

The other factor is supply and demand. With the prices that I charge, there's still a pretty big backlog of pets that need making even without any sort of advertisment. That should tell you something about the demand for good pets.

Also I like to think that I craft the 'ferrari' of pets, pets tailoredspecially for a playerand to becherished as companionson their journeyto deep dark and dangerous places. I am not a crafter of meat shields.

Anyway that's my 3 cents on pet pricing and my 'go to market' strategy. I don't expect everyone to agree with me .

Hey Kimo,

Well, I use a different, somewhat unorthodox method I suppose. I may start leaning towards one of these methods though, as pets are selling very fast for me, even with my low prices,I make very nice money. For me, I might sell a NON-custom creature, (say gurrcat skin) with 11k/9k/9k ham, cl 35 (maybe 30) with light armor, 60 kinetic, strong disease, and strong poison. Typically, or atleast right now, I'm selling these for about anywhere from 70k-90k, and at that price, they move extremely fast. Perhaps I'll get cussed out for it. I also am very friendly with alot of people, especially customers. I contact them a little after the purchase to see how they're enjoying the pet. I offer some discounts for repeat customers, those who are beginning CH's and buy pets in higher levels as they go up. I'm located in a fairly nice merchant town, not aligned with any particular faction. But, since Jan. 3 I've pulled in a little over 2 million, selling pets for 20k - 90k

of course, as of right now, no pets are above CL 50, but they're still nice.

I am new to BE and obviously will be grinding out alot of pets.

What is the standard for putting a price on a pet?

Is there any kind of rule of thumb?

I only have DNA 1 and I already got a lvl 14 gnort with great HAM.

I will have a vendor on Talus to sell the BE pets cheap, but I would like a guide line so I dont over charge or really undercharge. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm probably hated for my prices, but I sell my extra pets from grinding and experimenting on the bazaar. Granted, most are freaks but I usually get 5-6k from each. I just destroy the really wussy ones that have like less than 500 ham. I think they fixed the category on the bazaar too. The deeds for my pets didn't show up on the bazaar until yesterday and I sold 5 or 6 in one night all of a sudden.

My skill points are too precious to use on having a vendor, besides, I'm not in it for the money. It's just plain fun.
