Nemthang thank you for acknowledging the logic of my arguement. I am well aware of the ridiculous amount of times we have asked for exactly what constitutes a valid lvl 10 and the seeming indifference of the DEVS. The overriding reason I worry about BE's making obviously over-powered non-ch pets is DEV backlash that will ultimately be detrimental to the profession. If I am wrong about this (and I hope I am), I wll be the first to say I was wrong to try and persuade BE's not to make this uber non-ch pets.

Backlash might begreat for BEs as a profession though....if all those uber pets become suddenly invalid, all those people will have to buy new post-nerf pets =)

I am against this type of pet, purely because it seems blatantly obvious that it is not intended to be that powerfull, at the moment i dont put CL10's on my vendor at all because i have no idea if there will be a fix on this level of pet, or should i say, how soon.

I am guessing sometime after the space expansion....

Right after publish 10, they are supposed to do a mini-pub to address "correspondent issues." That's probably the earliest we'll see it. If they don't fix and/or clarify things then, something is seriously wrong.

Well been a while that I visited the BE forum ...

I was very suprised to find my recepie here still, and even more that I still get credit for it. Ty for that, Voke :-)

(OT: I have never gotten around to go into any other crafter class, so hearing its "the best" there is, feels twice as good :-)

Personally making this pet showed me how broken many things in game are. I have been using them now ever since, I have about 8 in use (over 2 chars) as well as given out about 4 and 4 deeded left. Its not that I massproduce them nowdays (or did in the past days), having the same moral issues as mentioned here.

With the "Advanced BE Guide" we got, things got worse hence the thing looks almost identical to the inofficial guide we had. The pets are valid, and will stay valid.

Why not? Because they are as broken as a solo player kiling a krayt. Will it be fixed? Eventually ...

I just hope the Devs may learn a bit ... and if there is a nerfbat comming, I hope they hit themself. :-)

I always give people credit for their work

As far as fixing these pets, I'm sure we wont be seeing that happen anytime soon. SOE is too busy with pushing out the SE, Jedi revamp, and smuggler revamp.

Maybe somewhere in there, with the combat re-balance, SOE will squeeze out another "hot fix" to these pets that will more or less likely do what all the other "hot fixes" do.... Make pets that should be valid invaild and pets that should be invaild wont be touched...

I think it is going to be a long time before we get our pet crafting system fixed... Though I hope I'm wrong...

Well I never had any problems with an invalid pet. At least not that I would remember ... but basically I agree. We wont see a lot of pet fixes anytime soon. Pets arent really much of an issue anymore either.

For some odd reason I forgot that Narglatch is an aggressive skin and so I got one sittin in mypad with no option to call. I tried to trade it in, but the CH didnt want it ... too bad. Id love to see changed level *snicker*

I have to say the 10s REALLY help me with ranged classes, but they sure are quite a money sink. Once you get buffed you usually dont worry about armor (for unsocial mobs) or stims anymore, so you dont have a lot of costs.

With pet usage thats diffrent.

Id just love to know why this combination leads to this mean results. Did I mention I even got a lvl8 with identical stats? I got no clue how I did that ... maybe some crits in there.

A toast to the only true crafter class that can beat the system and do something new :-)

Jayce, I've said it before and I'll continue to say it: if SOE truly believes that the system is broken, then they need to fix it. The creation of powerful pets is done exclusively through the cloning system as it was coded and CORRECTED TWICE.

Well duh, that's what this thread is for. Not to show that there is a problem, but to inquire about fixing it or having it regulated through the software before the pet changes hands to a customer.

I hear what you're saying. In context, my point is that two fixes and a creature rebalance is plenty to satisfy me that if the system says it's ok, then it's ok. Let the devs decide if and how they want to deal with creatures that they might consider inappropriate.

As we approach the 1-year anniversary, I think that most folks would agree that nothing is etched in stone in this game, ever. In some cases that makes it interesting; in many other cases, it simply causes frustration with players constantly dealing with a changing playing field. My opinion is carpe diem--play the game based on its rules today.

You'll have a much better chance finding them in-game. They don't hang out here much.

I'm now pretty certain in my own mind that BE'd pets work off much the same principle - CL is determined based on source creature level, which in itself is wired in without regard to the stats of the creatures it came from. Net result: BE'd pet CL is independant of the creature's actual stats (and is likely to be adjusted downwards rather than upwards with each generation).

If this is the case, how do I make lvl 79's from 5 mutant rancor samples over-experimented?

Lozareth is long gone.
