Those low level critters seem to have really high action stats don't they? Or is that just a coincidence?

Oh my - so - we CAN still make upper level critters outta crappola DNA and resources? This is excellent news - I was afraid I was out of the pet business entirely - I really don't adventure - I'll leave uber pets to bios that like to adventure - I'm delighted I'll have even more variety on decor critters. A LARGE part of my business has always been specially named or odd critters for folks to decorate their homes with, and I like that market - it ties in well with many other things I sell.

Talt, this will be fun to play with, but what up with a CL 35 Rancor with 2500 health? I saw none of you pets that had any health.

1) are they still items after creation?

2) when placed in house (/crosses fingers) to they reflect the size they will be when grown, with their colors?

Thanks guys! Wish I could help ya, but as a casual player getting master once took me several months.

Just curious but why would any of us want to pay to test this game? Isn't that what Beta was for? I'm sure this issue has been beaten to death but I can't think of any other game that has a server up for the sole purpose of having it's player base pay to test changes that should be tested internally first. Yeah, yeah I know, you don't *have* to play on TC but if stuff like this becomes mainstream it won't be long until we're charged 14.95 a month to test it from Beta, must less after it's gone retail.

I think a few big mmorpg's have test centres these days Krome, not unusual any more. And some ppl prefer the beta enviroment and testing / experimenting.

Couple of questions though.

You mention a clone witha low level limit, what sort of range will these limits have ? I assume that there will be an upper limit to. Having lvl 10 Rancors and lvl45 Bearded Jaxs would be a little much... funny to start with tho

Like wise with the colorisations, I'm sure I read that there woould be limited colours to each species... so you couldn't have a bright pink Kimo etc.. but your Cu Pa on the colourisation page seems to have fairly bright pink there.. is one of the allowed colours or is that colour chart standard to all ?

small things really

Gotta say it's looking good
Thanks for the clone page Talth!

Colors. I dunno if more are added as you level (a la tailor). I'm still a novice at cloning and only have 1 EXP point etc. I get about 20 somthing colors to choose from on the box 1 mobs. Like all tailor items etc. The art people attached pallettes to things, so we get stuff we are stuck with.. For example my "Black Gnort of death still has tan ear thingies. It is not a full skin tint. It is a color change of regions designated on the model.. just like clothes.

Deeds in inventory show default color, soI suspect deeds in houses would do the same.. I have no house on TC. Colors do work when you call pet though.

HAM is messed up big time... Big Action, small Health/Mind at the moment.

There seems to be a minimum CL (rancors seems to be 35)... can't be sure on mimimum stats because stats are definitely borked.. The question if gnort dna and level 20 dna will both create the 0% default CL35 rancor is still to be seen. Resists and specials could still be changed by type though.

Resists are averaged in a weighted manner, still to be determined. some stats are more weighty then others... 25 balster resist peko peko DNA in physique, and 10 blaster resist hermit spider DNA i nthe other 4 slots got me a 16 blaster resist kaadu (with borked stats).

Specials may be slot weighted as well.

Overall, it seems 5 sets of rancor dna in a rancor template = rancor resists and rancor specials that looks liek a rancor... Dunno about HAM and CL. (we didn't have rancor DNA handy, but it seems true from other experiments).

5 sets of rancor DNA in a Gnort seems to create a rancor resist gnort with rancor specials (again we don't know about HAM and CL) again we didn't have rancor DNA, but this seemed true from what we did have.

CL and HAM are still unknown factors. We haven't figured out if there are max CLs on low critters. it does seem true that low DNA can be used to balance out high DNA in the same template... but effects on HAM /CL is still unknown.

I made a Kaadu 3 days ago on tc... it is CL 10, and has HAMs in low 800's.. the one I made yesterday with basically the same type of DNA (DNA regular stats did not change on TC... just listings for specials and resists).. came out CL 8 with 58/2406/120 HAM.. So HAM does indeed seem to be linked with CL in some way.

Just to add a little to Tal's info. I'm keeping a page up with my screenies and experiments.

Answering some of the questions ....

Action Stats:
It seems that high action stats are occuring across the board. In the case of this Kahmurra the best DNA was in the Physical slot and Prowess had much lower level DNA.

Dropping Deeds:
I did drop it in my house, it kept the color that I gave it and was normal sized (CL 15 is the normal CL for a Kahmurra). I'll post a screenie tonight as well as to try to tame it.

As soon as I can get home I'll be sampling my heart out and trying more.

Im wondering if the action pools are high because of the changes to the CH line which will allow them to have the pet perform special attacks 1 or 2 on command. These attacks may lower the action pool values for the pet. Just a thought.

Effectively, I don't think so. The Rancor Jikazza made with junk dna was still cl 35, but hat worse stats than the CL 15 creatures I ended up with. So it seems even if the stats are sub CL 35, the skin sets the CL of the clone to 35. I think I'd rather have the skin simply reject a dna template that's too low.
