I don't think it's necessarily "panic", but crafters of all sort seem to be going to lean manufacturing and/or clearing old inventory. There is a LOT of overproduction out there of items that may be useless in a month.
As a chef, I don't want to use valuable BE tissues on new brandy and not be able to recoup expenses as every chef dumps their inventory. Armorers don't want to use uber hide that may be put to better use in the new armor, etc. I'm still buying tissues, just not commiting them haphazardly.
Making money is better than not making money.
Not making money is better than losing money.
Losing money stinks.

Unless they revamp the crafting system and resources, good resources are still good resources. Making large runs may not be a good idea but buying high quality resources at fire-sale prices makes a lot of sense.

I usually don't just make chef tissues without an order, but the order's have by no means stopped. I think BE's will be even more important after the CU because we will do all the doc crafting too.
I Don't feel that tailor tissues will be any less desirable because those mod's are not being removed (melee defense will still be useful, wound healing, etc).
I do feel pets are going to be changed, but I make pets for fun and just sell the ones I make, so I will keep selling my experiments at the price people will pay.
