Thread: Mutant Rancor Combines
And a friend of mine did actually get a Kimogila sample recently. Actually I believe he got six samples, the stats were impressive, but the medium armor won't stick in anything a CH can use. He didn't put them all in the same pet, he mixed them in with other pets. It would be nice if you could get medium armor to stick, but I doubt that would happen in anything under cl 80, which would be useless. And without medium armor the Kimo's stats aren't spectacular.
Anywho, I'm off to copy that MR MR FG FG MR pet for a guy I've been puting off for about 3 months now, hehe. I'll make it worth his wait.
Edited to say it took my friend about 100 attempts per successful sample, so not easy stuff at all. And I believe someone on the boards posted that they grabbed an Enraged Rancor sample, might be worth a try to get a couple of those and see what you can do, though really, you can't get better than that MR mix and still be under 70, but you might be able hit 14k HAM with only two ER samples instead of 3 MR samples, which would allow you to mix in lesser DNA to up the resists. Just some thoughts for anyone crazy enough to try it. MR's are hard enough to sample for me though, hee.

Mask scent is definately quirky now a days, I don't know how to explain it, but something has changed.
But even with that, for 2 hours of work last night I got 16 mutant rancor samples, enough for 4 pets, well, 3 pets and 1 crit fail, I had 2 icaps but no death blows (weird huh?). And they say crit fails only happen 4% of the time. lol
The MR, MR, FG, FG, MR pet takes very specific types of samples or you won't hit the 14k mark, just keep trying, you'll get it!

Arthur,
Thanks for the thread.
I was told by a master be that the lower the lvl the starting cl the less chance of going over cl 70.
Again just what I was told.

I used a razor cat skin to keep cl down below 70, and used all my exp. point with a droid out.
You gut lucky, lol. Some skins have minimum CL's, but no skins have maximum CL's. So if you try to make a CL 10 rancor, you'll be dissappointed, but a razor cat can be over CL 70 just like any skin can.
Here is a thread that has that information:

Any luck?
This is a great thread... I was checking this out while I was a master CH, and now I am a Master BE as well... looking to make a CL70 Kimo before I drop BE entirely.
Yep, I did find some FG, and used that in the combine but was disappointed in the results (which I didn't document), soI think I'll stick with BMB and BMBQ. FG's have fewer vulnerabilities, but their lower energy resist hurts as does their lower HAM.
I managed to find a nice healthy FG lair last night.
I got a bunch of VHQ samples.
Well good luck with the MR-FG formula. The one Pahbi posted is just wrong. There's no way you'll get 59% kinetic with that. I think he probably meant 49%. And if you use 3 MR samples you are going to have a very very strong possibility of going over CL 70. If you want to use FG and MR, I'd suggest:
MR - FG - FG - FG - MR
You'll get a very good blend of resists. If you do that I'm fairly certain you'll be able to spend all your exp points and come in below CL 70 (I'm guessing CL 65-68), but by all means take a look at the template stats I posted above for CL 69 and compare yours to that while experimenting.

Hmm... I'm going to stick with that formula, because I really want to move on with this (I only did the profession to try and unlock the FSS, but I try and immerse myself in the role of the professions that I go through, to gain some true understanding about them)
I would really like to know what you suggest I do as far as experimentation goes.
I can put in all Very High Quality samples of MR and FG.
Should I experiment at all?
If so, what do you suggest I experiment on?
I really don't want to go over 70.
Thanks for any advice, and good luck with the BMB formula.
