Actually, no they don't (your common sense should have told you that . Thats why they brought in Damage Mitigation...

"You seemed to be quite capable of finding the creature recipes yet somehow missed an important discussion and announcement to the CH profession that you at least sell items too if not are part of. You seem think people are stupid and are buying that no one could have known about non CH pets when it was already clearly stated non CH were to not have good pets for combat."

Actually, I guess that is my point. I am VERY capable of reading the boards, and NOWHERE have I seen anything that tells me what is an acceptable clone. Yoiu happily quote statistics that you THINK are acceptable and call me ignorant.

What happens when the devs disagree with you tommorow, and say that only 100 HAM is acceptable? Or even worse, just nerf pets with 100 HAM and not tell us what IS acceptable. I don't care if they decide that 1k HAM is the limit for non-ch pets. What I care is that I don't read any documentation that tells me that, and that I have to find out when all the pets just suddenly become uncallable.

Did you use your Super Search powers to find an actualsourcethat states a fact about non-ch BE pets, or are you just, like, guessing based on posts from Devs on other subjects and expressing your opinion?

However making a statement that no information is out about non CH pets and an 8k HAMCL10 is within thelimites of the gameis clearly a false or ignorant statement.

Feel free to go to the development forum and read the post concerning this issue there. It will be clear then 'What is this pervasive "You SHOULD have known"?' additude comes from. You should have known as it was made clear that the pre Dec patch CL15 non CH pets were considered too powerful and were removed from non CH use. If you can all of a sudden make one CL10 pet that is more like what you see in the wild and then make another CL10 pet that is far better than most CL20-30 animals in the wild, then you should know something is wrong and bugged. Guess what, it is, hence the fix.

I have found SoE to be very open about such huge changes as the pet nerfs, be it creature or ATST. I may not aggree with them all the time on those changes though. If they decide a non CH pet should have 100 HAM, then I'll be reading the posts on that before it happens.

As to the limit, seems a C Gurreck was deemed too powerful, so less than that, but a lesser bol is in, so at least that. I based my numbers on that. I good guess, but a guess, as I stated. Certainly a better guess than what you suggested, which was the bugged exploits were allowable. No one can be so stupid as to think a 47% resist 8k HAM pet at CL10 after the last non CH nerf was put into place would have been anything less than a bug, speically with a game riddenwith bugs on a bran new publish. Of course it was a bug and yes, you should have known.

The documentation is lacking, and we do need better documentation and the quicker the better.

Surreal, You just dont get it do you. The reason for the CH nerf was very simple, the Devs did not want any Non-CH's to have pets that where anything but "eye-candy". Any Pet of CL10 or less is not supposed to have any combat capability. Very Simple!! You can try try to justify it anyway you want but to anyone who has been following the forums even a little knew it was coming.

Not only do these invaild pets have combat capabiltiy, they are as good as a Master CH can handle. You dont see a problem with this? If you dont, then its obvious you could not care about the game as a whole. You just want what is best for you.

Many CH's complained hard about the nerf and I had very little sympathy for them as I fully supported non-ch's not being able to control any combat pets. Now I do feel very sorry for them if people like you would have non-ch's controling the uber-pets (or least they did). It took the power from one profession and gave it Now I am about half-way through CH and I see people like you defending a NON-CH getting pets better than I can control!!!Just plain STUPID.to another.

I dont even feel bad for the customerswho paid alot of money for these pets andnow cant use them. I would feel bad for a newbie who got hisfirst 5k lost, but for a player who has been around long enough to afford one of the pets should have known this was going to be a problem.

I was a Rifleman who was using a Rock Beetle before the CH patch. Because I felt having a pet was very important, I had to drop my Ranger profession in order to gain CH skills. I believe this was fair because nobody should get something for nothing. Thanks to the DEV's for fixing this problem quickly, even though there are still bugs to be worked through although I do agree some explaination of the cloning system is in orderonce everything works as intended.

Dont feel too abused... yours isnot the only profession to get hit with the nerf bat. Im a master CH working on master BE. i was hoping that BE would give me a chance to get back a decent pet since they took any wild pet worth owning and ripped its guts out. It looked promising for about a week then they chopped BE down. It looks to me like SOE just decided that pets in general were a mistake and are systematically trying to make them so useless that no one will use them at all..My guess is that next they will cut pet effectiveness in half all together and raise the stats of your faction hirelings by a factor of 5 just to increase player participation in their beloved Galactic Civil War.

I am curious as to the intent of the original poster? Do you think the devs will read this thread and say "**edit**, hes right, CL10 8K HAM pets is as intended, we better put them back in"?

Right...

BE pet creation was bugged, not suprising given the complexity of the BE pet creation system published in December. This latest change is just part of a larger effort to fix up the bugs introduced with the new system and just like many other bugs that have been squashed since release something that was possible but not intended is now no longer possible.

I am sorry that in your world that you thought 8K HAM CL10 pets were legitimate. However those of us that are much more in tune with what the developers "intend" vs what they "implement" have seen exactly what we have expected with this change.

Your righteous indignation is lost on me, and honestly it looks a lot more like ignorance from where I am standing.

Just to underscore my post. It is office, CL10 6000+ HAM pets are not intended, although I disagree with TH that it was some secret anomaly that some people discovered after the change when live.

The problem was known and reported on test, the devs just were not listening, as per usual. Hopefully that will change in the future.

The intent was not to get back CL6 pets with 6k HAM. My intent and point with the whole thing was to get DOCUMENTATION on a cloning system.

I understand and I think we can all agree that CL6 pets with 6k HAM is a balance effecting issue. My point is anyone who tells me I am exploiting a system can point those same fingers at the Master Weaponsmiths who made per-nerf FWG5s. Utilizing a system the way it is designed is not exploitive. Did I suspect that something was wrong with the system? Sure, just like I suspect the same thing about at least 10-12 different things in the game. Did I expect a nerf that renders a whole bunch of pets, including ones that do not look to my eye as being even borderline (CL25 with 5k HAM, and light armor? come on...what is wrong with that?), completely and utterly useless? Hell no.

Look to the past: Do pre-nerf FWG5s still exist? yep, I own two myself. Why SHOULD I HAVE KNOWN that my lvl 25 was going to be uncallable? Furthermore, now that this precedent is set, why should I assume that any pets I make in the future will not be subject to another nerf should I make them "too good?" This is what makes or breaks a system, in my opinion.
