Nope its not just you, I have a few friends in game who collect hide for me and in return they get free (or cheaper) clothing. You should have seen my face when one of them showed up with 10k of wooly hide for me

Well, the big problem with trading hide for clothing is that I strongly encourage people to bring me large stacks of hide, or none at all. I've told people I'll gladly buy anything above 2k or so, but prefer 5k or more. The people that bring me hide do it fairly frequently, much more frequently then they want new clothing, and since clothing is so cheap anyway they generally want cash in return, which is just fine with me.
