Thread: Possible bug?

I don't know, I was thinking it could have been that he just chomped some food of some sort. Unfortunately the combat log scrolled off into oblivion before the fight was over so I only have data from halfway through to go by :/ What made me really confused was that after I drank the pyro, I actually connected with almost all of my attacks. Maybe just coincidence, maybe just a one-time glitch, I'll have to test tonight again.

Well things didn't go well at all. Hmmmmm, I'm doing no damage and getting my arse handed to me, so I run like a frightened little girl (which is something I haven't had to do in a while, and makes me cry inside).

ok, so I get away and decide to check out the combat log to see what the hell happened, as I've used the same strategy against other jedi with that template and I usually either get the battle to a standstill or I win, but this time I lost horribly!

Turns out, after consuming the pyro (which, btw, is in addition to the crispic +40 accuracy I consumed before the fight started), my damage droppedconsiderably! My advanced criticals were hiting for 473 before mitigation. For comparison, the last shot I took before the pyro was a Ranged Shot, which hit for like 520 or so. Later on in the battle, after the crispic wore off, and when I drank more pyro, this didn't happen.

By my calculations, with the pyro and crispic, I had atotal accuracy of 485, and without the crispic I had 445. I just did a quick look at the prof calculator for those, they could be a little off.

Now, I'm wondering, is there something the jedi could have done at the exact same moment that I took that first shot of pyro that reduced the damage so considerably, and lasted about the same amout of time as the pyro (about a minute or so)? Or could there be a bug in the calculations, where if your accuracy goes up too far, the damage calculations get reversed or something? The way I understood it was that accuracy not only affected your chance to hit, but also increased your damage if the accuracy was greater than their defense?

Am I just missing something, or is this a bug?

ya looking back now i see that. well if his pre mitigation was lower in the beginning then it has to be his accuracy vs the marks defense. If the marks ranged defense had a large boost that wore off then that would pretty much explain it. there are a number of things that could have caused that...

If I'mrunning around with my creature in tow on dant, I find that if I do this instead of storing my pet after a mission, upon the next mission my pet is no longer my pet anymore... So far it's only if I have him in tow, not when I store, and I've tested several times. Whenkilling a creature fromthe next mission I will get zero xp points and when I go to use a pet stim it will tell me, "you can't heal this, is not your pet" Anyone else having the same trouble?

I have had this bug happen to me.
I was on Tatooine and I was leveling three cupas and this bug occured.
I was not grouped with the cupas and I, generally, let them kill the mob themselves.
I've had this occur with one, two or three pets out - but it doesn't affect every pet that you have out.

500th post!

Yeah this happens a lot. From my experience it generally occurs when you put too much distance between you and your pet.

Anakin: Master, I think my lightsaber is getting dull. Its not doing nearly as much damage as it used to.
Obi-Wan: O.k. when we're done showing the youglings around the temple, we'll stop by the bazaar and you can buy a new crystal. I hope you've got a couple million credits saved up for this.
Anakin: WHAT?!!?? I don't have THAT kind of cash!
Obi-Wan: Well you could try sharpening it on these younglings. I've got a headache and all their questions are driving me NUTS!
Anakin: hmmm.... Sharpen my lightsaber on younglings...... hmmmmmm.....
Obi-Wan: uh, that was a joke Anakin. I'll spot you the cash for a new crystal THIS time, but next time you're on your own.

Erm I'll try to see if I can reproduce this on Test Center, but there is a severe lack of BEs making Pet stims on Test. So best bet for you guys is to use the live bug/issue thread.

Repeat the process you described before, noting the time and location you repeated this bug. And report the bug with the time of the bug, location, name of avatar you were using, server you are on.

REMEMBER: QAs need to see the log of when the bug takes place, so name, time, place and server are very important. In cases where they can't repeat the bug they may spot other information you didn't provide which helps nailing down this bug.

Then provide as much detail as possible to repeating the bug. Heck even tell them what you were wearing at the time. I'm being serious before something thinks I'm being sarcastic. As far as you're concerned every little detail is important, let the QAs and the devs have all the information so they can decide what is important and what isn't
