For tissues - we should get an idea of what the Tailors and Chefs are charging for items made with our parts and take a reasonable percentage. I am starting negotiations with a tailor to work on this now and will post results.

Yes, I do sell my A's for the same as my D's, the difference in difficulty doesn't matter much to me. Not that I make D's anyways. Crates are easy. Say I have a Stim for 3k. 50 stims in crate = 150k. Wow, there is my "accomodation for numbers in the crate". Servers are alldifferent. Lately I've been doing this. 22 charges, 1110 heal power, 50 in the crate. 22 * 1100 * 50 / 7 = 172k. I round up to 175k for a crate of 50 on the ones I'm making now. A lot of people turn me down, but I do sell everything I make within a week.

XpNsVe, you and Tal-N are both being putzes. Both of you. Since he's been helpful in the past and all you seem interested in doing is promoting traffic to your website, you can probably guess where my sympathies are. Not to mention using alternating capitalization is childish, as is screaming in large type, colored fonts. It all adds up to wishing like fire that there was an /addignore feature in the forums.

Now both of you squabble somewhere else, for goodness' sake, and let those of us who are trying to discuss something and come to a consensus do so. Both of you already have your minds made up, so you're not going to get anything out of this discussion but frustration. At this point, that's all your contributing, too.

Answering the original question:

My current price equations -

cl 01 - cl 15 = HAM x2
cl 16 - cl 30 = HAM x2
cl 31 - cl 45 = HAM x3
cl 46 - cl 60 = HAM x4
cl 61 - cl 75 = HAM x5

Untameables = HAM x1

Mountables = Overal price x3

petstim = x2 per heal point + x25 per charge

vitpack = x50 per strength point

note: I'll probably redo the pet prices once the CH nerf goes into effect

On pet stim pricing...

For A's and B's I use a fixed price, just whatever feels about right to me. Highest B's I've gotten have been 912/27s, which I sell for 3k each (btw has anyone gotten a B higher than this? It looks like the heal value should be able to go higher, but maxes out with the ingredients I have at 85%).

For C's and D's I charge "heal value * number of charges * 0.15". I rarely make C's as the insect meat on my server always seems to be 500oq or less. Most of my Cs are barely better than the best Bs I can make, and since I have a ton of Talus fungus, I just stick with those. The Ds I got a little lucky with, got a bunch of fairly decent fish meat (700ish oq) and bought some ok Dant fiber (650ish oq), best D I've made was 1430/32, sold for about 6600 using my formula.

Vit packs I usually only make A's, sell 39 heal for 900c. The few C's I've made were 86 heal, sold for 3k each.

pricing is a personal thing and what I do and think is right should not be forced on to others. If you do not like the suggested prices on a web page, then do not go there and do not look at them. Just like TV programs: turn it off or change the channel. Giving the person grief over what they feel are proper and correct charges is wrong. On one has that right.

If we had a correspondent,I would hope that he would be giving serious thought to locking this thread.

I like the 5k for furniture, flat fee.

I am moving towards a HAMx2 pricing scheme. This is for a few reasons (1) HAM goes up with CL, and higher CL means you need higher level DNA, which has a lower yield and greater loss/risk, (2) HAM is an engineered stat and at a crude level a measure of how well you did on the crafting attempt. The base purpose of a pet is tanking, and its ability to absorb damage is prime...damage dealing of your pet helps, but honestly you will outdamage your pet by a lot with weapons which target vulnerabilities and bleeds and specials which go after a pool.

My price guide is pretty much at least 5k and then HAMx2 so I don't know why your nocking it when your pretty much using the same scheme.

XpNsVe, just because the dictionary says one thing doesn't mean that on the whole the general population think that way. People in general are stupid, they're very very dumb. If they see the word guide they start to think that this is a rulebook not a suggestion. I know your putting it across as an optional guide, you might even have a disclaimer on the site saying this is just a suggestion however many people will simply lookup for guides on the internet and adopt the first one they come across because it is after all a 'guide'.

Thank you Tal-N!! I'm starting to realize this and maybe I'll stop pulling out my hair soon!

LLvm- I came here to ask for alternative input because I did not like the guide there. In your analogy, I 'changed the radio station'. Ironically I find the old station bleeding through with people compaining that I left. Your petition to lock down this thread would be like someone trying to sensor alternative input to the party station at SWGBIOENGINEER.COM. Do you play imperial? I think you could do it great justice.

Muff and others- go back, read. You will see that your petstim guide was what I had trouble taking seriously. The creature guide, with the same website approval stamp, held little authority with me and so I came here to ask people who knew. Your logic is flawed too- because the 2xHAM formula yields creature prices that sometimes come close to the arbitrary numbers you posted in your guide, it does not necessarily lend authority to your guide, nor make the rational behind the price numbers therein solid. There is enough deviation from that rule to show that the 2xHAM rule is not what you were using. I had hoped to find more in a guide other than my mood today is strawberry, and this is the price I set for Rancors. There are relevant factors such as difficulty in sampling DNA, raw material costs, skill tree investment that all should factor into a price, and I had hoped to see some of this considered in any kind of pricing scheme. I did not find that at your site, so I came here and asked. Some are comfortable following subjective arbitrary pricing schemes, but I had hoped to find another person in this game who had already done the thoughtwork to come up with a real materials raw cost plus markup type formula. You guys should just abandon trying to defend this stuff. Really, if you like strawberry, nobody can change that. Revel in strawberry. But when you say strawberry is what everyone else should like, and you are the authority website for all of bioengineering, and strawberry is what everyone should like, well we have entered the realm of silliness. There needs to be a rational basis for for a pricing scheme to be termed a guide and not subjective preference in my book, and this is my problem with your site.
