I'm not sure if this is as big an issue for everyone else as it is for me and some people I've spoken to, but I thought I'd bring this up for everyone to kick around a little bit.
I do not like having someone else's name and advertisements splashed all over my equipment (Not the 'Crafted By:' spot, the actual name of the item)! I already bought the thing, I don't want your name and/or vendor waypoint written all over my weapons, armor, tools, clothes or anything else! If I like your store and want to come back,I'll take the time and effort tomake a waypoint. It's my stuff now, why can't the players rename items once they are in their possesion? It can be a pain in the neck to find good quality equipment that do not have the crafter's information scribbled all over them, I've searched for hours sometimes.
Now, I'm not saying remove the ability to name objects at all, in fact I recently renamed a Gambling Table to "Dejarik Table" since that's the *official* name according to the books. I'm simply suggesting that we give the owner the ability to rename the items, perhaps as a pop-up to the Examine option if all the radial slots are taken.
This may be nothing more than a pet peeve of mine, but I'm curious if it bugs anyone else as much as it does me.

I don't think renaming items is a big issue right now. People put their name and/or waypoint in their crafted item so they can advertise it. Yeah, it's annoying... but there really is no way to advertise in SWG without spamming in Coronet.
If you don't want someone to put their name/waypoint in the item, then custom order it. It's just as easy.
Still, on Gorath anyway, I've seen a lot less items with the creator's name and/or waypoint in the name. I mostly see that on the bazaar now...

I personally don't mind the LDI tag on my wpns. They are RP'ing too, and if they make a good product want their sign to show. Look at swordmakers in ancient China and Japan. Or look at your newest Colt or Berretta. They all have their name and Co. ID number on them. Live with it in my opinion or special order it. I personally am hugging my LDI Badger Burner of Doom *trademark Lethally Dark Industries.
