Thread: What a dumbass profession

Lol. To all the people out there who act like they are all high and mighty and could care less about holocrons or being a jedi, please stop. You know you want to be a jedi. Its the coolest thing in the game and the hardest to achieve. The sad fact is that most of the people who say that don't want to be a jedi are the same people who just plain suck at the game and can't figure out how to get their hands on a holocron. Stop hating all the holo hunters and jedi wannabes, atleast they are honest about it.

It would be cool indeed to be a jedi, but I don't want all my skills being wiped when I die. Even if jedis want to learn another profession, instead of being jedi, their skills get wiped per death. So once your a jedi, not really worth being anything else.
Ok ill answer your question but around here on the BE forums your post reads like flamebait, weve been severely abused over since released and its made us a bit edgy.
I hated BE when i started it up too, it was the hardest grind ive ever seen, honestly i think it is the hardest in the game. I missed out just barely on the kimo sampling dna fun and had to do it the hard way. When i made MBE i stood back and said to myself "what the **edit** was i thinking? this is the most broken **edit** profession ive ever seen!". Now the only reason i did it was cause i saw some of the pets that BE's can make and thought it might be the best way to get a really high end Gurrek or Rancor.
As i worked on making the ultimate gurrek and rancor i experimented with some of the other stuff we can do, skill buff clothing tissues, broke ass pets, stuff like that, and it sorta grew on me. We can do some stuff thats pretty cool, oh were broke alright and its real **edit** obvious whats wrong with us, but after the last couple weeks ive slapped together some rancors and gurreks that will tear a most pets a new ass. higher ham and 150 more dammage, this is nothing compared to what we could do if we were "working" as intended. Hell its no secret that one of the reasons were so **edit**ed up is cause if we were working like we were supposed to it would make the CH's even more unbalanced.
Ya know what? i hope they make the grind even harder, hell i hope they make getting to MBE pretty much impossible and take a year even if it is impossible, i hope we lose half all our abilities and it makes all but the most die hard Bio Engineers left on the servers leave in disgust. And then i hope they fix us.
Cause on that day, the custom critter that you request that nobody else can make but whats left of uswill cost more than that holocron that told you to grind your way to and from hell. When there are more Jedi than Bio Engineers or Chef's i will laugh.
Ok who one-starred me lol. I feel for him. I went chef for the tatooine sunburn and the experimentation to make avg 7 shots per piece. I hated the grind. Now Im doing bio-engineer (and broke my promise never to grind again), not to be a jedi but so I can be a profession that can help my guild. I like what the BE could be and I can wait til it's fixed. But the grind still sucks for a class that is just marginally better than chef.
Fratman, why don't you just finish your freaking grind, get the hell off of our boards and play with your LITTLE lightsaber.
And frankly there is more to the game than being an assmunch like yourself and wanting to be jedi. But judging from your posts you couldn't fathom what this could be so stop wasting our time.
You know you want to be a jedi.
I don't agree. For someone who usually plays first person shooters it might be the greatest thing in the world to be a Jedi. But for a person who only likes playing maintenance games (The Maxis Sim games) I highly dought they want to be a Jedi. To me Jedi is a combat only class, I personally like crafting and keeping track of resources. If I am lucky I will join a hunt once every week and only because I want to survey the resources on the harder planets and find some good spots. My combat XP is capped and I have no desire to get any boxes at all in it.Sure there are times I'd like to be able to solo a storm trooper but it's not a life threatening thing, I can easily do without it.
The sad fact is that most of the people who say that don't want to be a jedi are the same people who just plain suck at the game and can't figure out how to get their hands on a holocron.
So according to you, if you can't get your hands on a Holocron you suck at the game? I've gotten my hands on a holocron, and I didn't even fight for it. I simply have no interest in doing the skill it told me. So I have a challenge for you. If you think becoming a Jedi is the hardest thing in the game I'd like to see you craft a 90% Kenetic, 80% acid composit helmet with 25/45/210 HAM costs.
See the problem with grinding a profession in this game is that you don't have to learn anything about the profession to master it. And I believe that getting the master skill box has nothing to do with mastering a profession, learning all the little nooks and crannies does. The day you can master a crafting profession AND make the best of any item ever made on the server in that profession is the day I will agree that acquiring Jedi is the hardest task in the game.
Stop hating all the holo hunters and jedi wannabes, atleast they are honest about it.
The stop hating the professions that bore you, that you only take becauseit's required of you to take them to become a Jedi. I.E. "What a dumbass profession"
fratman, i am not interested in being a jedi. the way i see it, if you cant enjoy the game how it is what makes you think you will enjoy it playing as a different profession? i love BE and all i wanted since beta (where i was one of the few CH's) was to be a BE/CH and i love it. its people who think like you that made other MMO's suck. everything usefull is dropped or sold in NPC shops. its these "useless" professions thatmake the playerrun economy work. its a pretty simple system and you must be a total mouth breather to miss the concept.
again, get a life. you arent impressing anyone. its not our fault the devs made BE a holo prof, and be assured that we would be a lot happier without total deuche bags like you grinding through it.

Live a little and try out a new profession. Seriously, you have been a BE/CH since beta??? Talk about boring. Mix it up a little son, its not the end of the world if you surrender some skills and try out different professions. It will be ok, you don't have to suffer through boring/broke professions just because you are known as the resident tool/ch/be. I think maybe your a little afraid of losing you elite master ch status? Its a big MMORPG out there, go experience a few different aspects of it. Now I'll let you get back to your stamp collection you boring hump.
im not afraid of losing anything. are you stupid or illiterate?
i said i LIKE the profession. i enjoy it. i need to take advice from someone who is paying for months of gameplay they arent enjoying? give me a break, you are clueless.
that just reminded me of celebrity jepoardy on SNL....
Alex Trebec (will farrel) talking to Sean Connery (forget who played him):
"Are you Brittish or retarded?"
LMAO

It's a lot easier to surrender skills that you grinded in 4 days then it is to surrender a skill that you put your heart into for 5 months. Like I said, there's a lot more to mastering a skill then just getting the master skill box. If you don't bother truely mastering the skill and only get the box it doesn't mean that much to you.
