Thread: Sampling Macro
Oh...and one more thing.... I've been able to sample 1k-3k of a resource by letting this run overnight. I've never had a problem with it no longer being able to find the resource....
I don't know what could be happening you you guys for that to happen...
I would disagree that my method would be an outside program since all you are doing is using a text file to create a group of macros.
Of course, I am in no way an authority on this, and if it is considered an exploit, then I apologize.
My intent, of course, is to alleviate some of the tedium in resource gathering...nothing more.
I wish all happy hunting and good gaming! ![]()
Thank you for your opinion ![]()
The only reason that I don't like it, is because I know it's going to cause a Nerf that well make it impossible to go out and sample a few hundred when you need it for a specific item.
It's going to be abused, I'm resolved to that - so I say go for it. We will prove to the devs that we can't police ourselves, and everyone's gonna get one up the chute.

To be honest with you RoboFish, I don't use the macro method anymore since I have Engineering 3 and I make my own harvesters now. The only thing macro mining was good for is Surveying XP and making some cash by selling the resources. But now I am a Surveryor 4 and my havesters earn me my extra spending cash, allowing me to buy the resources I need to manufacture items.
I just wish that there was more demand for basic Artisan items. (I.E, weapon powerups, droid batteries, etc, etc.) It's hard to earn enough $$$ just by selling your goods. Especially since you can only sell 25 items at a time (of course if you are selling 25 items, you can't BUY any)
I think I understand why there is a limit on sales per person, but I don't have to like it....LOL
Good Luck, All!
Hello, i am a artisan and i have worked 3 of 4 of the sampling tree then it got hard, then i heard of macros for sampling so i can sample while in school, can someone post one good here please?
Thx!
This is currently what I have and it works great:
in a text file in your StarWarsGalaxies folder place this text and name the file Sampling.txt
StartSampling: /ui action toolbarSlot01;/pause 375;/stand;/sit;/pause 75;/stand;/StartAgain
StartAgain: /ui action toolbarSlot00
--- explanation of above ---
/ui action toolbarSlot01 <--- pushs the2nd button on the toolbar
/pause 375 <--- This is approx HALF of the amount of time I can sample for, yes this is purposely half... I won't explain why here, but if you send me an email on Tarquinas I will xplain this more and YES you do want to put in HALF of the amount of time YOU can sample for.
/pause 75 <--- take a short break, I mean come on you need it after all that sampling, right ?
/StartAgain <--- kinda self explanitory but it starts the macro all over again, basically loops forever.
In another text file place the following text and name the file SamplingOFF.txt
StartSampling: /killed
StartAgain: /killed
Now in the game makea Macro with the following text and place it in ToolBarSlot 00, the first slot in the top row:
/load Sampling.txt;
/StartSampling
The place the generic sampling macro button in ToolBarSlot 01, 2nd slot in the top row
Now to stop this macro make another macro button with the following text and place the button in the 3rd slot:
/load SamplingOFF.txt
You can now sample forever, but what about those pesky annoying popups that were introduced months ago to stop this sort of thing... see that part where you sit down for a bit of a rest, then start sampling again...
Yeah someuber-forum-nazis will tell you that the EULAsays that you may not use macros in unattended game play, like AFK sampling, AFK mining, whatever. And it does... I looked it up. But you know, I could care less what other players do. LOL
/ui action cycleTargetOutward;
/follow;
/pause 15;
/sampledna;
/pause 10;
/sampledna;
/pause 15;
/ui action toolbarSlot00;
Put it in the F1 slot...
Just goto a newbie city and run that baby
***sorry if this was already posted***
