Whats the line on giving us no excuse but posting in the apologizing in theCH forum:

"We're sorry we were'nt able to complete the cloning changes giving you better pets at lower CL's"

Maybe because CH's constitute 8.66% of the player population and BEs only 0.98%/ Hope devs aren't really that cynical.

Actually Kellis, of the chars that have noviced 1 profession, the number is actually close to 20% CH (add up the %'s of noviced professions....its in the low 40's). That is due to the fact that a HUGE number of the people in that data were just alts that are really not getting played. Now factor in that most people novice more than 1 elite profession and I wouldnt be at all surprised if the total number of at least novice CH's is somewhere in the 25% - 33% range. Scary, huh.

What is really scary is how they are so dumb not to realise that crafters are as high a priority as the end-users. I mean look at it this way, here you have the CHs who are the single most popular profession in the game and then you have the bio-engineers who provide services for the most popular profession but themselves are not great in number. Thus it'd be nice if they took their heads out of their butts long enough to at least realize that the bias they are showing the CHs should be shared by the bio-engineers since the profession are directly connected.

15:1The global search and replace of BioEngineer to PokemonEngineer is hittingunexpected problems, so we will probably miss this window. BUT and its a big BUT here, BUT the development work is done.

Tal,

The problem is we aren't crafters as far as our end use customers are concerned.(even though we should be)I mean how many BE critters does the average Ch have? One, maybe two.

We wouldn't be still waiting on our class if we were. Armorsmiths wouldn't, Weaponsmiths wouldn't, even tailors got more colors added since launch. If you doubt me, remember the T21 ruckus.

As for Droid Engineers, they're in the same boat we are.

wait, are you talking average?

the average CH probably has around 0.025 BE pets (thats 1 out of every 40 CH= pretty accurate). do you really think every CH has 1-2 BE pets? cmon give me a break.

we are useless right now as anything other than petmed suppliers. our tissues dont work right yet and we dont have enough of them to have any kind of viable market (not to mention half of them are completely useless - how many food tissues have you sold this month?), our clones are useless, and our stimpacks work perfectlly? take a look at the posts fromtwo months ago -how many BE's were begging for something like pet meds to be implemented? take a look at the forums drectly after pet stims were implemented - how many posts asking for the best grinding macro? the math is simple, petmedswere the easiest way to squelch the BE community while a real fix was developed. it basically caused an enourmous influx of people who were in it just to make money with pet stims. mind you, the main reason pet stims are so profitable is that all the BE's that were around when they were added to our tree decided to rip people off purposely just to get some attention to our real problems (remember that guys? i know some of you do. we ALL agreed it was the best way to get some fixes in). "why are you charging 3k for one stim?" - "cause BE is still not fixed, i will lower my prices when it is. if you arent happy about it send a ticket" - that never happened, on any account - BE was never fixed. tissues work in factories now... "geat... now all i need to do is hunt down a bajillion plasma thieves then i can be 5% better at taming a graul mauler, and for the low low price of... 5 mil? or maybe ill risk the 1 extra tame i would have to attempt and get the same result" hmm.. tough choice? clones = joke. im not even gonna get into it.

end result: more people come to be a BE(either to supply pet meds to their friends who dont want to pay the insane price, or because they did the math between resource cost and profit and realized howprofitable it is and jumped on the train) and the % of people who really care about the clone line drops to almost nothing. who was complaining about cloning changes 2 weeks ago? nobody. why? cause we all assumed they would be in this publish. and now what? everyone wants them now. well you know what, im sick of waiting too.

and to top it off i get the added bonus of a self-centered punk on the forums telling me im kissing the dev's asses (pretend we dont know he's paying SOE 2 times what i am) just because i say i would feel just a little bit better about paying to wait another month for the fixes that were promised two months ago (and shouldve been completed before i had to pay for the game) to be implemented if i actually got a reasonable explanation why? F*CK THAT and F*CK YOU. you know who you are.

im not quitting this game. i spend a lot of time on the forumsnot because i WANT to complain about it, but because i KNOW this game could be great and its not far off. i have fun with my good friends who i play with. westarted an amazing player city and wego onkrayt hunts and fishing trips - i am loving it.but itssomehow less gratifying when i know theres so much more i could be having fun doing and im paying for it all - what i am doing and what i cant yet do because its still broken.

THATS why im pissed, andI AM PISSED. i never said i wasnt. i never said i was happy or that SOE was being reasonable, buti never said i didnt think the game had potential. what i did say is that i would feel better about paying another month for somethingthats still brokenif there was some reason to beleive that it will befixed when next month comes around. maybe saying that doesnt help the situation, but nothing we say on this forum helps the situation. all any of us can do is sit back and wait.

excuse me (or one-star me, asone skim-reader did above) if i try to hold onto some thread of hope thatourfixes (not changes, FIXES)to the BE profession will actuallyhelp us"work as intended" some day soon.

Hmm well at least SOF and Tal-N are entertainging to read, even if they are bashing each other =) I do however, agree with SOF.. more communication is better than none, even if its almost worthless info.

I have completely lost faith with anything SOE says at this point, but alot havent. Its a matter of time until i just cancel my accounts. They have violated just about every service agreement a company can have with its clients, ranging from items, characters disappearing to just being unable to play. They have done a horrible job on this project and promoted the lead designer (holo), who by the way, we will never hear from again.

Gotta love 'out of touch', corporate business. I bet they have no clue just how badly this game is being serviced and maintained. 7 months will be the EARLIEST we see any fixes.. and if you noted.. we are not even on the top 5 priorities for broken proffessions.

I'm going to start 1-starring SOF just to torque him up. His posts get longer and he uses more all-caps when he's peeved. Just kidding. Actually, every time that annoying CH (that 1-stars all the CH nerf posts) makes his mark, I go through and 5 star everything he's hit.

Now, lets get this thread back on track.

2:1 "All development came to a screeching halt and player population dropped by 75% when Half-Life2 came out."

This is a slight modification of - "The devs all signed up to be beta-testers for World's of Warcraft." Which I still think is so funny I crapped my pants. The only reason I think its not true is that these devs would never play a game in beta. That's what they're still doing for a living.

HL2 may have missed every single milepost and shipdate, but we can safely assume the game will be fun, full of content, and stable - when it finally does ship. Unlike SOE, which had us pay for a game that they were in the process of finishing.

I can understand SOF's willingness to hang on one more month. Then next month it will be just one more month. Then next month it will be just one more month.

Problem with this is obvious. As long as people are willing to pay their monthly fees there really isn't any incentive for SOE to fix the bio-engineering. I know people that have even gone so far as to create brand new accounts so they can keep their BE character on the back burner until the profession is fixed while they play a new character on the same server. SOE is laughing all the way to the bank since now you pay two monthly fees.

When the non-creature handler nerf hits and speeders make animal mounts obsolete the BE markets will drop to dramatically. Make enough money now so you can afford to learn a new profession in a few months.

the thing is, i like playing the game so im gonna pay for another month anyway, but i would feel better about paying for the broken profession if it looked like it was getting fixed.
