Thread: Advanced components

I got bored and thought I'd do a little experimentation. This might have been posted somewhere already but it applies here so here goes...! I decided to try Liquid Suspension and the Advanced Liquid Suspension with the same materials.

So I made sure to max out the experimentation that the materials would allow and this is what I came up with:

Liquid Suspension before experimentation - 13 power

w/ 60% experimental effectiveness - 38 power.

Advanced Liquid Suspension before experimentation - 38 power.

w/ 60% experimental effectiveness - 127 power.

And these were with the same materials! I was suprised how much better the Advanced is. Moral of the story (for me anyway) is that you don't need a lot of Experimentation Points to make a good Stim. Just the right materials!

Hope that helps further!

Do you think that Fungi is a good inorganic? I know they're usedprimarily for poisons, but the have great overall quality.

If you're using it as a simple organic (for example, as the organic component of a stim b), then one organic is as good as the next. If that's the case, it comes down to the stats. Since you have such a wide range of resources to choose from, you'd better find something good (900+ for OQ and a high PE to boot).

If it's something like Lokian Wild Wheat, there's often only 1 resource to choose from, so you don't get much of a choice. For things like organics or inorganics, choose wisely. These resources will greatly impact the maximum levels that you can experiment to when crafting the final product.

When you start to get to the higher levels of crafting, you'll want to pay a little extra attention to seeds to vegetables, as they're used in some high end meds, as well. If you can fnid some of those with high stats, it's a big bonus. You can use them as you always would and, if you run into a case where you need some high level meds, you've got the resources on hand to make them.

However, as fungi is used in poisons, you might want to find a combat medic to see if they want to buy it. It might be worth your time to sell this stuff to a CM and buy your organics from someone else. If you can sell this stuff at 4 cr/unit and buy your stuff at 3 cr/unit, you're getting what you need and pulling a profit. Bonus.

For me, however, I'd probably just keep it and use it in my own products, but that's really your call.

depends on if the stats of your adv components are higher than the stats of your normal components.

hi weaponsmiths friends!

Ijust have a little question, i have heard a lot of different things about the advanced components for the ranged weapons, some say that i should use adv. and some say no, i have tried both and i get better damage by using the adv. comp. but the HAM usage gets really high. i thought somebody might explain what kind of components r good to use when making ranged weapons.

I have only made melee weapons before but i want to do more weapons, beacuse its so darn fun, but its no use wasting time getting the special resources if i dont need to use em.

any help would be appreciated.

ya but doesnt the HAM usage get high if u use them all, i even heard that advanced blaster power handlers, r very important to use when making weapons, the other ones r not that important.

Most customers look first for max damage, then speed, then condition, and finally range. They usually ignore HAM because (as of now) they are usually buffed.

Accordingly, I used advanced everything except: on almost every gun I mass-produce, I slap on a regular scope with zero ham costs. Adds 12 to the ideal range with no blowback.

the only advanced component i dont use is Adv blaster rifle barrels, because the adv is only gonna add 1 more dmg than regulars, and regulars have a better speed reduction. only reason for this is the materials in adv rifle barrels suck. At least on my server
