  • Tailor: No

  • Weaponsmith: No

8. Number of storage slots necessary to make 30 items:

(I admit I arbitrarily chose these items, and did not include optional components, and assumed that if an item calls for 3 different slots of chemical, the crafter would use 3 different types - although it's likely only one kind would be used. However, the point is still valid.)

  • Architect: Heavy mineral mining installation: 26 (using stacked items)

  • Armorsmith: Composite armor chest plate: 17 (using stacked items)

  • Artisan: Bonearmor chest plate: 16 (using stacked items)

  • Chef: Vagnerian Canape: 6 (using stacked items)

  • Doctor: Action wound medpack E: 17 (using stacked items)

  • Droid Engineer: Adv. surgical droid: 42 (using stacked items and not counting sub-ingredients made by a master artisan)

  • Tailor: Chef apron: 11 (using stacked items)

  • Weaponsmith: Republic blaster: 21 (using stacked items)

9. Which crafting professions are required to obtain a skill outside the requirements of their profession in order to do the Jedi-related crafting quests?

  • Architect: No

  • Armorsmith: No

  • Artisan: No

  • Bio-Engineer: Yes - must have Novice Artisan, which is not a requirement of the BE profession.

  • Chef: No

  • Doctor: No

  • Droid Engineer: No

  • Tailor: No

  • Weaponsmith: No

I have but ONE additional note:

Please remove the bio-engineer profession from the developers' /ignore list.

This is a very cool profession - it is ignored and is languishing on the sidelines. There are a lot of well-thought-out and interesting points/proposals in this thread. Why not seriously consider some of them?

Tiggs: Your post is all of the way back on page 7, by far the strongest response to the " Getting to know" posts and all you say is a cut and paste thank you?

My issues with the proffesion are as follows:

1: MBH is one of the most SP consuming proffsions available, this should merit some SERIOUS offense and defense mods. The master box is almost as useless as getting master smuggler. And unlike the melee proffesions, we can't get any more defense modifiers by dabbling, nor can we cap out our HW speed. My proposition is to add LARGE amounts of melee damage mitigation to the master box as well as a HW +25 speed and accuracy as an incentive to get master.

2. Player Bounties. Simply put player bounties need to be added. My personal take on the issue is not only should players who have a high PvP rank be placed on the terminals, but there should be a spot where ACTUAL players can go and CREATE bounties on other players. I also believe that there should be consequences to these bounties (i.e. the target looses skills or XP when they are killed) I'm sure that a player bounty of 500k to kill someone who has been cheap shotting them with a Jawa Ion when their buffs have run out would make BH's come from miles around rather than the crappy pay of Player Jedi missions.

3.Gadgets. Look at every Star Wars movie, (and any other movie with bounty hunters in it for that matter), BH's have cool techno gizmos to help them catch their prey. We need some other weapons in our ever decreasing arsenal. Specifically there should be a weapon that works MODERATELY well against jedis, (i.e. dart guns with a DOT, timed KD nets) Also the addition of retrieve missions should help the proffesion and you could add Snare Nets that allow you to drag your target back to whoever wants it.

4. Theme Park/Bounty Office. I think there should be a theme park available for BH's where you get bounties from different NPCs, this or their should be a Bounty Office where the bounties are given out and you get more than just a paycheck for them, maybe you get some loot too. Make the Bounty Office give out PLAYER CONTRACTS only! Make the terminals for grinding, the office for PvP.

5. Armor. Ok so the new mandalorian armor (or BH armor whatever you want to call it) is out and it appears to be another RIS incident. One of the most highly anticipated additions and its no better than composite armor. The addition of a new set of armor is in order and make it tailored to BH's only, (if you really want to be sure and give another incentive, make it a master certification) Make this armor better than composite and give it a LS defense. Make it 90% Kinetic to counteract the melee proffesions, make um work for it.

6. Weapons. Im sure this is common on the forum but BH's need a bigger array of weapons, there are three certifications in the tree and it seems like that doesnt give very many options where it should. Add a BH specific carbine to the proffession, something with a nice kick. Add a few BH weapons with STUN DAMAGE, i mean think of most bounties that are given out as retrieval missions, wouldnt you need to stun your opponent to bring them back?

7. Defense/offense. I wanted to clarify point 1 in this section. There should be a significant increase in the offense bonuses given along the whole tree as well as for each branch that you master (i.e. carbines 4 pistols 4) you should recieve a different damage mitigation. Lastly for the jedi missions there should be a modifier in the tree for Penetrate Saber Block. It doesnt have to be huge, even a +5 or a +10 by the end of the tree just to give a little edge back to the Bh's.

8. WeaponSwitchDelay. Ok if this is not the dumbest thing i have ever heard of the devs adding, can't think of another. LOOK AT THE TREE, there are THREE different branches of weapons, we have to constantly switch between them for maximum effectiveness, adding it to the que was a good touch but loose the delay!

I think thats it for my rants and raves

Since I am the new kid on the block I would like to take a little survey to see what you feel is the most pressing issue with your profession right now. Wait! Don't post just yet, seriously think about this for a moment and post what "you" feel is important, not what you think the overall class feels is important. (Flamers, trolls need not reply). Please do not link me to another thread, I want it in "your" words.

There are no promises being made that you will see immediate changes implemented. This is simply to gauge what you feel is important so that I can discuss this further with the team. I am going through a few professions at a time so if you don't see this post in another forum you participate in, do not worry. I will get to the other forums in due time

Thanks in advance for taking the time out to do this.

P.S.

I am well aware of the sticky issues threads on the forum and the excel sheets that ThunderHeart has. The reason(s) "I" am doing this is 1. to get to know you, 2. get a better feel about your posting styles and 3. Gather fresh feedback from the community. If you feel like you are repeating yourself then please feel free to opt out of posting in this thread.

It's a very difficult question for me to answer. But I'll try anyways. I think the problems many of us carbineers encounter are the same problems that just about every non-mind targeting, non-stun weapon using profession is having in PvP.

I think it's the following that affects my ability to be a good carbineer:

1- Unless a carbineer is going to spend millions of credits in speed SEA's, the only way to truly be effective with carbines is to stack with Bounty Hunter Carbine. I think that the "master" of a profession should be as close as perfection with that given weapon without having to dabble in another.

2- Armor. It's a general issue, but since carbineer doesn't really have a stun weapon....energy, heat and acid is pretty much what we use. Uber comp armor basically negates these damage types.

3-H.A.M useage. As of now, I HAVE to be buffs to use my specials. If I don't I'm incapped before my opponent shoots. I ahve always suggested that buffs be toned down dramatically and a 4th sperate, unbuffable, unhealabe bar be responsible for specials.

In summation, it's not really one flaw in the carbineer profession that would be responsible for our not so great performance but more general flaws in the conbat system that make other professions that can take advantage of those flaws more appealing.

Speed

Rifleman = 90, Pistoleer = 74, Carbineer = 60...

It's impossible, and i meanIMPOSSIBLE for a pure carbineer to compete without +25 in speed tapes. Even with +25 in speed tapes I still have to use speed sliced carbines in order to cap It means that i have to spend millions on krayt carbinesand SEA'sto make up the damage, whereas a rifleman's run-of-the-mill T-21 has a higher damage AND they can fire faster...
