My first accusation of plagarism! I'm flattered, but sadly I can't take credit for copying your post. It happened to me while sampling and I came back here to share, honestly. I did just read yours, and while they are similar we're not talking about the same thing.

I specifically /target the Rancor then /waypoint (you create the WP on the Rancor, not where you're standing -- I started doing this cause I'd get lost when I had to run away from them). Then you head to that point full-out and take advantage of the latency to avoid aggro.

No, I don't think so. As I said, you have to actually apply the camouflage in order for the mod to have anymeaning at all, and only rangers can /conceal. The modifier gets checked by npc's and creatures when you wander into and out of their awareness range. If you're not actually concealed with a camo kit, the modifier doesn't get checked. Say I bought a +25 taming creatures sunguard. In the 'my skill mods' window, it would say 'taming creatures +0/+25.' However, since I lack the /tame skill, the mod would never, ever get checked. I'd merely be the proud owner of an expensive hat.

It may be something you want to experiment with, though. If you know a ranger, have them /conceal you with an appropriate kit and see what happens.

skill mods are just that. you need a skill to modify for them to work. no skill = no modifier

does anyone know if camoflage works even if you don't " have the skill" its not part of the scout tree.

i have clothing with mask/camo. the Camo mod shows up in skill mods screen does this mean it is effective?

or do i need the skill for it to actually work.

Another thing i noticed that even though my clothing item kight be destroyed. my mods. still seem to work.

anyone else noticed ?

The camo modifier does nothing if you don't have or can't use a camo kit. Only rangers can make and apply camouflage, though we can apply it to other players. Not sure whose modifier is checked, though-- yours or the ranger's. I would guess the ranger's, because we get scouting xp every time someone we've concealed sneaks by a hostile critter without getting attacked.
