I think the sampling skill of the droid user should be passed to the Droid. This would not be a replacement for the sampling skill.Thestandard samplingwould still be there for those outdoors people who love the risk and the adventure.

However, someone did bring up the point that not all BE's are the outdoors type. For instance, Im a Master CH so I can use my pets to grab some of the agro off the sampled creature. However, what does a merchant BE do? Since there is now decay in the game I do not think its fair to expect people to accept dying a couple times just to grab 4-5 samples.

The droid idea was merely a way to help out both the BE and DE classes at the same time. For the people that dont follow the DE Bugs, its a pretty useless class. They dont have much to offer and the stuff they do have is bugged.

I think the sampling skill definetly needs to be revamped. either by making it more successful or by giving us some help. Sample Droids, Sample Tissue enhancements, sampling dead Mobsor evengiving another class (like Rangers) the ability to extract something from the Mob that we can draw samples from.

I guess we'll have more of an idea of how important sampling is going to become after the new clone system goes live. The fact that sampling from clones doesnt work very well in the new system is just going to make wild sampling that much more important.

I think a sample droid is an awesome idea for many reasons. This game is supposed to be Star Wars but if you look at the game mechanics its more like the Wild Wild West only instead of winchesters and horses we use blasters and kaadu.

In a universe where star destroyers hover over planets and people have mechanical bodyparts it makes no sense why we would have to climb a mountain in our underwear to sample some uber critter with a big needle. I'm sure the dev's were laughing their collective arses off when they decided "hey lets see how long a non-com with no weapons will last against a rancor." That's not what I call challenging. I call it shear insanity. It reflects the Star Wars theme about as much as paper bag with eye holes represents a space helmet.

I also agree that the limitations of the droid should be based on the skills of the BE. A novice should have to be closer to the droidto operate it than amaster would. The droid should have no defense and no armor. Its not a combat droid. It should have a quick retrieval time however. When you retrieve the droid the aggro'd animal keys on the you.You may have the time to escape and you may not. Masters would survive the encounter more often than a novice because the novice had to be closer. If the droid getsdestroyed any DNA it contained should be lost. Therefore a low level BE is more apt to call the droid and empty it more often. The droid should not be a replacement to hand sampling but simply an advancedalternative. If you are way out in the middle of no where and the droid gets wacked you still have the ability to obtain DNA.

me, I'd much rather see a milking machine droid, or a droid that went fishing for me I'd even take a droid that would feed the chickens that give me eggs.

Never said we had less than an armorsmith or a weaponsmith, I said we didn't have many, and my whole point is that I relish the fact that we *do* have more challenges than they do. But I suppose the fact that you are disagreeing with statements I didn't even make means you are in favor of removing those challenges and becoming more like weaponsmiths and armorsmiths?

Seriously folks, how completely stupid is it to have a droid, that would sample at a master level (if it didn't it would be worthless) and has high level mask scent/cammo (again, would be useless if it didn't) and allows you yet another opportunity to sit on your fat can and do nothing but be a spectator? It begs the question: are you playing the game, or is the game playing you?

First, there really aren't that many challenges in this profession

lol you're joking, right? you get your kicks out of dying and losing your clothing, ect? I don't. I bet you even enjoy fighting with people over the fantastic milk drops we have available for our great profession with hardly any challenges lol or the hours it takes to get a couple tissues that include those great fish we can get in such excellent quantities? this to me is not the idea of me playing the game, it's a game playing with me. I could most certainly do without the lack of concern for our profession and your sarcasm that says we don't have many challenges.
