Thread: Self Inflicted NERF

All of you cheering and patting each other on the back while you make your CL10 creature with 8000 HAM and 40% kin resists are going to be in for a rude awakening after the holidays. Once the devs get back on things they're going to nerf you into oblivion. I can't wait the hear the screaming and crying once that happens.

OH BROTHER another ch thats hates us... guess what we arent getting nerfed theres 1 dna thats bugged to get that results.. even i cant reproduce that kind of results with thebugged dna, thebugged dna will get fixed thats all they will do
I'm not complaining about the 10k sub10's, I'm complaining that sub10's will have 1200-2200 HP's with <10% resists (if your lucky).
Creature you make will be 2-3 CL lower than the wild version and up to 10 CL lower for high end(thats whereour correspondent says they should be at least and I have no reason to doubt him, even Tal-N seems to feel thats where they should be).

Has anyone thought of the possibility that this type of tanking to non ch pets was intended? mabie not to such a large extent, but they did say that BEs would have a much more important role in the game. To be able to even make such a high quality non ch pet requires the BE to expend alot of time an energy gathering the resources for it.
If they fix some problems with pets being too powerful again then oh well, BE wouldnt have changed much from its previous roll, so no matter what happens we as BEs are better off in the long run.
Just relax enjoy our new artistic challenging profession even if they add some modifications.
According to Talth, Keldarin and the devs know of the problem, and we can assume a fix will come soon. Some of you can cry all ya want about low level/high HAM and resist pets being legit, but the fact of the matter is that they are highly unbalancing to the game and will be fixed. There is really no room for a sensical argument.
And all I hear from Dablingbling is this"Haha we can make better pets than most CH's, and we deserve it cause we sucked so long!"
While my BE side wants to jump up and agree with him,my side as a player is disgusted. I agree that Be's deserve the abillityto do something like this, but not to this extent. at low levels like 1-10 they should be able to do like 4 or 5 level deviations...so that the non-chs arent stuckwith utter crap, and at higher levels, IE CL50 pets, about a 10 level deviation, so that a normally lets say level 55 kmo, would insttead be level 45, adding room for the CH to utilize more pets.
But with this ability to this extent, all you are doing ismaking the CH proffesion useless. who wants to group with a CH, if they have pets that are pretty mucht he same as theirs?
one of my chars is a 3-2-1-4 CH and I can barely use a graul mauler, and youre telling me thats its fair that ive spent about 70 skill points, to use a pet that non-chs have a one up on?I mean gee...that makes a lot of sense to the recent rebalncing the devs have been doing.
6k HAM is at least CL 20, not 10.
The argument "well DUH the whole point of bio engineering is to make animals better, not reproduce the same junk that any novice CH can tame." is not valuable. Why ? Because it gives the possibility to Non-CH to use pets as Tank.
Tell me now. Who was whining about "starwars galaxies : a poke mon war" ? The same players now use that **exploit**.

Actually, it doesn't take much time or effort at all.As detailed inthis thread:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=bio-engineer&message.id=44306
You will see that a first generation clone using piket DNA can easily be a high HAM sub CL 10 clone. There are several different ways to make these clones including bugged DNA (easy) andmulti-generations (more difficult). If either was impossibly hard, you wouldn't see these pets everywhere now.
And, no.. this type of tanking wasn't intended.. the devs turned rock beetles (pre-nerf tank of choice) into a spiked krevol (900 HAM, no resists, 90-110 dmg and 1 special attack). I think that's a pretty clear indication of what sort of tanking ability the devs wanted non-CH's to have. They didn't grandfather in existing pets either.
And even after the fixes go in, BE's will still be leaps and bounds ahead of where they were before. We actually have clones that work, instead of a handful of bugged skins to decorate our houses with.

Infact that is our whole purposes, we're the profession that lifts other professions onto our shoulders to help them become better.
Can we say egotistical self-importance? We are a profession just like every other. No better, no worse. We are NOT the appointed saviours of the galaxy.
Well, he is actually right though. In and of themselves, BE's are nothing (though I suppose we can clear a spawn much more quitely than a Commando can *grin*).
Not that we are needed by them to do their jobs, but CH, Tailor and Chef are much better off with us around.
That argument can be made about every pretty much every other crafting profession as well, which is entirely my point.
All crafters are support classes that lift other proffesions to higher things, so in that respect your right (and I doubt Tal would argue it either), this forum just happens to be the BE one though, hence the BE focus of his post I guess.
