Tal-N I did have alot of respect for you because all the information you supplied the BE community, now all that respect is gone, don't one star him because he asked a question.

If the respect was lost so easily then it must have been easily easily gained. Thus it wasn't worth valuing originally anyway. As for the holier than thou atittude, what did people who ground through any profession actually bring to the community in the process, ultimately then they come back asking more questions cause they're a master who doesn't understand the inticate details of the profession they are supposedly a master in. Masters in title only it seems.

Thank you for the polite response woot. I five starred the others that gave me a real response.

As I stated above, I have been working slowly on BE for 2 months (maybe a little less, but you get the idea) so I'm obviously not doing what they all hate. But that totally immature and bitter dude Tal-N automatically assumed that I "wanted to grind through as quick as possible" as though he took the slowest route possible when he was working on the profession or something. Of course I want the quickest route possible.

  • But I won't exploit.

  • And I won't be /afk grinding.

  • And I won't power game.

  • And I won't barrage the board with tons of stupid questions.

I asked simply if there was anything that provided higher xp and he jumped down my throat because he is obviously an ass, and at this point I don't feel bad saying it.

Well, I think the main problem is you came here and sounded like a_holo_grinder_023 complaining about how long it takes to grind out the profession. Even your sig lists the professions you have mastered.. like so many others.

I see posts in every profession forum, every day that start out.. "OMG, does it really take XXXX to master this profession?"

Sorry if people here couldn't tell you were a DIFFERENT kindler gentlertype of holo-grinder.. /shrug

Once again, The Great Oz has spoken. I love it when people continue to prove my points for me.

This isn't unique to the Bioeng profession. This isn't even unique to SWG. It's endemic to all systems out there that have an experience-based system that must be accumulated over time.

People will always try to get the best bang for their buck. People will always try to do more with less. It is a not unreasonable expectation, and just because they express a desire to doesn't them 'stupid', 'lazy' or any of a number of other perjorative adjectives.

This fellow is even less deserving of such persecution. He's obviously already independently stumbled on the micronutrient/constrictor route, or at least did his homework, did the math (which looks a tad conservative to me), and wanted to know if there was a Better Way (tm) that he was overlooking, which isn't even technically the quintessential FAQ question; merely a clarification that the given FAQ answer is still up-to-date. Criticisingthison the grounds that anyone seeking to Grind their way to the top is inherently unworthy can be viewed as nothing other thanthe "holier than thou" attitude of which you protest.

I know how annoying it is to get asked the same question over and over. I merely request that you step back and take a look at the content of the question and tone of the question giver. You have the right, nay,the holy perogative, to come down like a meteorite on "How does I gets BE xp fast plez?"

No need to get elitist about it Tal.

Just cause he’s playing the game as the developers designed it to be played doesn’t mean you should take out your righteous indignation about the design they used (which actively encourages grinding) on him

Yeah, I just put that in my sig today. I was wondering what it would make people think (btw, I didn't have it in my sig when I made the original post) but in my defense, BE was my 1st and only holocron. I mastered scout and marksman from when I used to be a BH, I mastered medic by default as I worked on getting novice BE, and I mastered artisan because I already had gotten business 1-4 for merchant and figured what the heck, I like the profession, why not master it.

The only thing that I ever really came close to the type of grinding most people hate was whenI finished survey 3 & 4 in artisan with an afk macro. Unfortunately for me however, my connection is so unstable (packet loss), that it was really a sit at my computer macro while I read EGM.

Look again... it *is* in your first post.

Sorry you didn't get the reception you wanted.. but I read your post and thought "ugh, another holo-grinder complaining about grinding."

I've mastered tailor, BE, scout and artisan. I'm working on chef, ranger, medic, creature handler, merchantand who knows what else. I also have three accounts, and I decorated my tailorshop with holocrons because I have no desire to be a jedi. I did grind some of tailor, but over a period of months as I built my business. It took me a couple months to do BE, mostly because I didn't get motivated until the fixes went on Test. When I decided to do chef, I ground 100% of the way (3 boxes to go). I know that I'm going to be a pretty lame master chef until I learn what is what.

Even before the holocron craze, asking "What is the fastest way to grind to master tailor" on the Tailor forum would have gotten you a chilly reception at best, and on a bad day, some major flames.NowI think people have gotten tired of hearing complaints about how lame their chosen profession is from people who are just "passing through."I'm not surprised people have little patience left.

Actually, once you put your sig in, it goes into any post you made previous to that. Take a look at some of your first posts you ever did, you will see that your current sig is now in those as well.

Micronutrient supplement also gives you 100 xp and 105 in practive mode but you only need 15 creature food compared to 30 for cloth. You can use 15 food and 15 hide but it's still hard to get 30 units of hide and meat. You are much better off making micronutrients.

Thank you for being one of the ones that gave me a straight answer. I've gotta say that originally I didn't intend on grinding through as fast as possible in terms of real time, my concern was the amount of actual crafting sessions, but after todays posts, I think I want to get as far away from most of you guys as fast as possible.

Some of you were completely cool to me. However, the negativity that oozes out of so many BE's I've encountered directed at "noob" BE's has soured my tastes for all who wear Bio Engineer above their heads. For those of you that jumped to my defense in this thread I certainly thank you, and hope that perhaps you will defend others that are attacked so immediately and needlessly for simply asking a question that ANY noob BE could've asked.

You can Master all three crafting lines by making a little over 4000 tissues. And if you make use of the 150% usage xp that BE tissues get, you can do it in FAR less. More details here:
