Thread: 5000 crafting sessions???

I started working on BE and after reading your sticky guide, and seeing what you guys say is the best thing to craft for the xp grind, realized that there are 5000+ crafting sessions to finish just the 3 crafting legs???

Is this accurate? Or does anyone know a slightly easier method. Like which leg to go up first? Or is it really the case that you can only get 100xp max for crafting BE items. I mean, I'll do it either way, but I do have access to TONS of resources, so is there anything with higher resource costs that give bigger xp?

Thanks for the one star. Sorry, didn't mean to ask a question.

If there was something easier/better, I'm sure it would be in the FAQ. This question does come up quite frequently, you know.

You can craft creatures for more experience, however you spend more time gathering the DNA to do so.

Your asking how to grind the profession as fast as possible, personally I have a real distaste for people who don't want to take the time to learn the profession and simply want to master it as fast as possible. Thus the 1 star.

There is a one star bandit the lurks the BE forum. Don't feel bad. We've all been hit by him/her at one time or another.

The BE grind is long so I recommend going out and sampling critters and crafting Franken-pets. Don't sit and grind for long periods. You'll end up hating BE which is unfortunate because its actually a lot of fun now. Take some time to learn how different DNA creates different animals. Enjoy experimenting. You'll make some nice animals and you'll make some bombs. Its an art now and has to be approached as such.

i have a real distaste for people that flame others for asking a simple question. especially when it regards a skill that is pretty much worthless at less than master level. and even after a major update is still pretty broken.
--------------

as for the original question: no the micro-nutrient, right now, is the most time efficient grind to get to master. just make sure that you go the DNA tree first and either keep the DNA templates for later grinding animals for the 200XP each if you have room for storage or grind em off in practice mode.

practice mode on the samples will yield enough for one box of crafting. i just finished my BE grind took me 8 days from start to finish including the time to gather the materials. some of which i bought most i harvested and some i had a friend help with as well. i set an early goal of 50k XP a day for the crafting as a minimum. the last two days i did 160k crafting and then 80k.

my next holocron said chef. so yes i am cursed with the worst proffessions to grind. but before i go i am going to make me some decent pets and tissues for friends. i do enjoy gathering the DNA. it is the only "fun" part of BE.

Wow. Unreal. Show me in that entire post I made where there was an instance that I even mentioned the word holocron? Show me where I said I wanted to do it in 50 crafting sessions?

I started bio engineer TWO MONTHS AGO. Yes it was because the holocron told me too, but OBVIOUSLY I haven't been a crazy grinder like everyone else. I wasn't asking to do it in 50 sessions. I mastered merchant AND artisan just because they were fun. They were both slow, they were both time consuming. 5000+ sessions just seemed a bit high to me, and I'm used to there being items which you can craft once you reach higher levels that gets you more xp. That was all. I haven't grinded through 20+ professions like everyone else following the holocron. I haven't littered your boards asking for macros. I am more accustomed to crafting professions taking 3000+ sessions, and thought that 5000+ sounded a little high. So sue me. You guys and many others yell for people to take their time as they grind through holo professions and not to litter the boards with questions. I follow that idea to the letter, yet still you flame and one star me. Whatever.

I may very well have enjoyed this profession and decided to stay, but if this is the level of players that I call my colleagues, then I can't wait to get out of here.

And the really sad part is I'm a huge fan of the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy.

I don't understand why people hate grinders, I grind so I can make better creatures and better tissue does that mean I don't understand the profession? Absolutley not, I understand almost everything about it and if there isn't some thing I look on the forums. Who cares why he is grinding, he asked a valid question.

Tal-N I did have alot of respect for you because all the information you supplied the BE community, now all that respect is gone, don't one star him because he asked a question.

Now in response to the question, besides pets constrictor cloth provides the best resource to xp ratio. I think when you practice with pets u get like 500xp and practicing with cloths provide 105xp, one of the tips I have is goto Dantoonie and sample pickets very good sampling xp, then go make creatures, then grind cloths.

Thank you for the polite response woot. I five starred the others that gave me a real response.

As I stated above, I have been working slowly on BE for 2 months (maybe a little less, but you get the idea) so I'm obviously not doing what they all hate. But that totally immature and bitter dude Tal-N automatically assumed that I "wanted to grind through as quick as possible" as though he took the slowest route possible when he was working on the profession or something. Of course I want the quickest route possible.

  • But I won't exploit.

  • And I won't be /afk grinding.

  • And I won't power game.

  • And I won't barrage the board with tons of stupid questions.

I asked simply if there was anything that provided higher xp and he jumped down my throat because he is obviously an ass, and at this point I don't feel bad saying it.
