Hi everyone

Just wondering how fellow chefs get their meat. I have made mostly full runs of foods, but getting the meat for the BE ingredientsis hard going (trying to motovate others to help collect all that meat).

Im onthe Farstar server and I've put quite a few messages on the trade forums trying to get people to collect the meat (rangers ect).

But I've had no luck so far, any ideas?

Any help would be really useful.

Really it just comes down to advertising IMO.

Advertise on your trade forums. Each time you run through Coronet or most major cities you might want to say a little ad.

It also helps if you are buying easier to collect meats. People might harvest things like Lok Carn, or Naboo wild meat, but don't expect large amounts of it. Here is my normal list. The meat either has to be amazing or I just don't expect much if its not on this list.

Realize though that if the most I expect to get is under 100k I rarely put a buy out for it.

You also don't need to always get the best meat. If you can, thats great, but 84-85% additives is better than no additives.

Er do you mean 100k units of meat, because I can only dream of that kind of quantity of meat. I have put many many posts on the trade forums asking for ppl to collect 20k chunks of meat, but no one took me up on it. Maybe it was the price I was offering. How much do you normally pay I think i was offering about 35 - 40 CPU for it.

Please keep your ideas coming in.

Price ranges quite a bit. For additives I tend to pay no more than 35cpu. Usually something like 25cpu for any size stack and 35cpu for 20k+. Prices will obviously be server depedent as well.

You might not want to limit your buys to 20k+ stacks. Some people have no problem harvesting that, but others might only do 5k or so. You do run the risk of not getting enough for a full run, but it just seems I get more stacks under 20k than over.

Spamming a meat buy outside Coronet worked for me quite a few times. Even just leaving my toon there afk. I realize it might be annoying, but I haven't seen the devs improving merchant much in the past many months.

If you buying Dath meat, you might want to try doing the same on Dath instead of coronet.

I also have the luxery of nearly unlimited buys. I never assume I'm going to get a few hundred K on a buy, but if I do I buy it. I know when I harvested meat I didn't like to be set in on a contract. If I had time to harvest, I would get the meat. So all of my buys are very generic. Like I'm buying x meat for y cpu. Any size stack can be dropped at my vendor. Just something like that. I know I didn't have the option all the time to do that. Starting out you usually have to set limits. Even when I did though, I have never reached a limit. The highest I ever got was 50-60% of what I would have bought.

Buying meat is by far the hardest part of being a chef for me. Much harder than actually getting people into my shop to buy the food. It might take a while before you can normally get the amounts you need. If you get a few people to harvest, write down there names (/notepad works well here ). Every time you have a new buy, send an email to those that harvested for you before. Just don't send these emails out daily. That might be a bit annoying.

If you have the capital to pull it off, the best way is wait for a decent spawn of Dathomir Carnivore meat and then make a post in your trade forums offering to buy as much as people can harvest for 20cpu (may vary by server).

I did this a few weeks ago and was able to buy up 800k of meat in three days. It cost me a fortune but I've got the meat problem taken care of for quite some time. All in all, I'm saving about 700k per run of BE tissues because I have schematics made instead of buying the full runs likeI used to.

You don't have to pay a high CPU for Dath Carnivore meat. People are out killing rancors while they're grinding and they're more than happy to harvest the meat for you because they're getting paid very well for something that they'd be doing anyway. I offered 20cpu but I think I would have had just as good a response at 10 or 15cpu. It's just added incentive for them to grind and since they pull SO much meat so fast, it's extremely profitable for them. I can't tell you how much easier Chef is knowing that I don't have to worry about scrounging up BE tissues or trying to convince people to hunt meat for me.

Being a swordsman and scout with a harvest droid (+107)plus eating +31 Veghash helps collect alot of meat i need BUT not always enough.

What I did was post on the trade forums, if people didn't offer i increased my rate until they did. I started getting offers at 40cpu. I also spammed the starports when i was there with a 60 sec delay. I also have a couple vendors, one near coronet and one on dantooine so people can offer it to which ever one is closest to them.

I also have guildmates who help me when i need to get some good meat that isn't really easy to collect (Rancors=Easy, Bark Mite Burrowers=More Difficult due to disease).

Going to probably do the buying any amount type thing, and then banking on people getting smaller stakcs but over all getting enough and the dath carn meat as well.

Any other ideas? Then please add.
