How do you guys get meat? I need massive amountsso i can grind throught the lower lvls. but rangers seem to be more interested in catering to armorsmiths, and novice artisans with hides and bones.

I'm guessing most BE's hunt for themsleves, which if you do it solo now after this last patch takes much longer.

I can't ever find meat for my doctor either.

Ideas? Get hunting?

yeah, ya got to hunt for it. also do *not* have your pet (if you have one) grouped with you when you do this, you get less meat off of the critters thanks to the sharing code they put in.

Personally, I could not get enough meat to level BE; instead, I leveled on vitality As.
I couldn't buy meat in large enough quantities, nor could I harvest enough to level on tissues. The main drawback of leveling on stims is you really want to use a factory to make the subcomponents, as they give medical crafting, instead of BE crafting experience. So if you have the funds for factories and some harvesters, I think stims is a more viable approach, as you will be wrist limited, not resource limited I also been able to sell a good number of the packs, especially after I got some experimentation and could get their strength up.

I can't imagine how long it would take to get through this profession without grinding.

The 33k for Master Doc took me FOREVER. I finally gave in after a long time and ground out the last 10k. I could have had it weeks earlier.

while i hate to give away a good secret, but check out kimoglias. if you can solo 'em you cen get upwards of 400 units for a dune giant and 250+ for a regular kimo.

Most people I know can't solo a Kimo. The way I do it is do money runs on Lok, Dath, etc. and harvest the meat from the creatures I kill. Most of the time I can make about 50k credits and 1k+ meat in about 3 hours. They is prob slow to what others may do, but you get the idea.

I also have noticed meat is hard to come by. I watch the bazzar and alot of people are wanting 10 credits per 1 unit for meat with a oq of 53. I may be nuts but I'm only going to pay 10 cpu if it is high quality meat.

Actually, the easiest way is just to find a good group to get into. I know that it's hard sometimes, but if you get in a large enough group with some good people, you can bring in a TON of meat. First of all, you'll be able to kill alot more creatures in a shorter period of time, so even though you're only getting 60% as much per harvest, you'll get more per hour. Secondly, you'll be killing tougher creatures so you will get better meat. And then lastly, if the people you're grouped with are pretty nice (even if just one of them is), you may be able to get them to give you any meat they don't need. Since anyone with the skill can now harvest the same corpse, if you get 2 or 3 other people harvesting and giving you their meat, you can end up getting 2-3 times what you would get solo.

Try grouping with bounty hunters or rangers or master scouts. They've all completed Hunting IV, but don't need much meat. If you can get them to just harvest the occasional corpse, you'll get lots of meat.

i offer free pet-stims to all my friends in exchange for all the meat they can harvest. I also give them trained pets (im also CH) Occasionally I will buy meat, but people price it so **edit** high that i usually dont bother. Why would i pay 3k for 400 meat when I can get 3000 meat in a few hours on Yavin and make 50k creds at the same time.

oh, Kromeboy made a good point, dont be grouped with yout pets when harvesting (if you are soloing) or you will only get about 60% as much due to the change in harvesting made a few days ago.

It is one of the toughest part of becoming a decent BE. I have had to buy a ton of meat on the bazaar, when someone is kind enough to sell it for less then 10 cr per unit. Keep trying to group with folks that will harvest it for you, but don't need it. Good luck.

Heh, just wait until all the tissues are working, but we need fish, milk, and eggs. **edit**? Why not make it Krayt tissues.... I at least know how to get those.

I think a big part of the problem is that the scouts and hunters choose to harvest bone and especially hide before they harvest meat, just because they are not aware of meat's marketability. I am able to collect enough meat from the bazar and on my own to grind, but yes, it is always the limiting factory, and I usually end up with 25 stacks all of about 100 size rather than what I'd like which is one stack of 2500, lol, but beggers can't be choosers I suppose.

How many here do NOT harvest the sampled to death critters that die?

There is no Radial, make a Macro like this: /harvest meat

It takes 5 DNA to make a template, that's enough usually for the crreature you are making...
