Thread: Looks like IDs might be getting salons, what would bio-engineers like?

How about a zoo? Sort of a garden with enclosures of various sizes and little informative signs...

Common name: rancor
Scientific name: voracious voracious
Habitat: wherever it wants
Home planet: Dathomir
Food: Bio-engineers...

Ilike both the Zoo and Dairy Ideas..... Perhaps we can combine them. A Zoo that we can provide grains to, and it produces Milk at a Steady but SLOW rate... perhaps 2-5 units per creature per day.

If the structure takes 4 lots then we can have 200 Creatures in it, and still have 50 spaces for other stuff.

So with 200 creatures in it, it could provide 400-1000 units of milk per day... WOO HOO!

I would sooooooooooooooooooo LOVE it if they gave us an evil looking laboratory building.

A Bacta (probably spelt wrong) Tank building would be good, where pets could be dropped in one of five tanks, the pet would bob around in the tank and grow at double rate until it reaches a certain size. Then it can be switched for something else.

Bio Engineers have to pay maintenance on a tank, but can lease out time to other players.

Ech, you should also know that Dancers/entertainers can only heal BF in a cantina. Not in a camp or anywhere else. It's something they have asked for to make them more useful, but the devs don't listen.

InsomniaRado beat me to it, I'd like to run a creature zoo

or at least have be able to make facilities in my house to grow my pets, instead of leaving them in my datapad.

Something like a cloning facility for our creatures, in our house, or even a facility to do that for people. Kinda like a Poke'mon center

People can leave their pets for us to take care of, and rebuild them. bwahahaha.

I likes the idea of a corral idea with dna stor age( partly cos I think it would prob be easiest to implement) and it would mean we could hire space out the CH's who want some place to store pets.

I really like the idea of functional buildings per proffesion though, gimme a reason why I should craft there in amoungest other BE's .. at sec with trusty droid with food and chem staion I go anywhere and only return to my house to stock the vendor and dump whats in my pack .. it's not really a house... it's a dumping ground ><

OOo, growth acceleration. Now that would be a valuable benefit to a cloning facility.

Personally, I want the zoo. I mean, come on. Theaters seem like a perfectly pointless building, why not a zoo?

If you've been playing this game long enough to master a hybrid profession and become very skilled in others and still do not know what a Medics and Entertainers use certain buildings for, you've got a learning disorder or something...

Iknow quite well how Medics and Entertainers work. A Medic (or Doctor) can work out of a player structure (house/PA hall) and does not need a Med Center outside of an NPC city. Hell, they don't need a Med Center; any Medic or Doctor worth their salt has a droid with a med module. A performer can heal wounds in scout camps (though the Ranger's High Tech Field Base kit is being considered for healing fatigue, I hear), and both mind wounds & fatigue in an amphitheatre, theatre, hotel, cantina or player structure. A Chef crafts a product that can be used anywhere and offers it to other players through secure trades, the Bazzar or a vendor in a house/PA hall. Their connection to Cantinas is tenuous at best.

None of these professions needs to do their job in the player city structures assigned to their master level participants.Med Centers and Cantinas in NPC cities heal (excruciatingly slowly) players when the professionals associated with them are not available. Once you're a master and able to place the player city versions, you don't need the experience you'd get working in one. Thus the only reason I can see for requiring those professional masters to place structures is for role-playing value. As such, I think it's just as appropriate for role-playing purposes thatImage Designers have a structure they can place that serves both a role-playing and game mechanic function (heals fatigue but not mind wounds, perhaps?).Bio-engineers, who are the only player profession to be involved in cloning at all in any way, shape or form should be needed to oversee the only structure that involves cloning (in my never-humble opinion). Hell, I think a Master Merchant should be needed to place the Bank square. Otherwise, where's the vaunted interdependency, supposedly one of the key features of this game? Player cities are the ultimate expression of player interdependency, cooperation and community.

I find it regretable that apparently the developers for some of the professions take a less active role than others on the behalf of the folks playing the professions they design. I guess GreenMarine can go to bat for Chefs, but....

And I agree, a zoo would be no less inappropriate than a theatre. The theatre is a great idea...but there's already another structure that serves the same purpose! And who the heck goes to Theatres? A zoo...where Creature Handlers would get a bonus to taming/training? For fewer fails? Since you couldn't really bring the wild critters into it reliably, you'd have to bring bio-engineered clones there to tame them....

I am trying so hard to be constructive and reasonable. It would be nice if it didn't take two years for this game to settle into itself and get really great.

I think BE's should get a graveyard. This would be appropriate.

I would love to see a droid that you can send out like a BH seeker and sample dna for you. Of course there would be the ability that it could lose it's entire supply if it get's destroyed but something that would say sample and return to your house after getting however many pieces. Would definately save some time for you. But maybe have different types of droids...cheap ones that can only get 10 pieces up to some treaded beast that can carry 200 pieces and then a DE can make it where they will not aggro anything or sample more than once.

I would also like to see a corral where you can either display your creatures outside instead of inside your house which takes up too much room if you display all pets you can make. I agree that you could have it for live pets and have them wander around. Maybe even have a vendor outside if you have that ability so that they can look at them like at a pet store and walk out with your new pet. Having a bunch of beasts walking around in a corral interacting with each other without fighting would be cool to see. I think it would also be cool to be able to maybe just stick a corral out in the middle of nowhere with a few pets almost like a advertising sign stating these are what you can buy from so & so.

A lab would very nice as well even if to just add a different look to the world.

Last thing that I would like to see is the ability for us to be able to adjust other players beasts to some degree. Sort of like athletes taking steroids or other drugs to increase their abilities. It should not be very significant as we want them to buy better creatures from us ( WHENEVER THEY GET AROUND TO FIXING THAT ).

FARMS! Return to our roots (BEs started as Farmers in beta)! Creature Resources producing structures.

If that doesn't work, then Bio labs that give us a slight bonus (like we get from high quality crafting stations/tools and medics get when healing in hospitals).

Or how about a Zoo? Not sure what game mechanic purpose it would serve, but...
