in reply to the original post here, I sell AR1 cl 40-50 pets with double specials, ranged, very good res. (like 80% kinetic), and 10K+ hams in the 70K price range. Im on Tarq so if you need one there just sent me a tell/mail.

I do custom pets. I also try to keep my vendor stocked with some reasonably good creatures, and I do not sell what I consider "junk pets". If I am not satisfied that the creature will perform well for its CL, it gets destroyed, or resampled to provide material for much lower level creatures or specific resist profiles/specials/etc.
That being said, many custom pets take me more than a week to make, and some have taken longer. I will not take an order I do not think I can successfully fill, and I try to discuss the needs and expectations carefully.
If someone sends me a tell or an email saying I want a CL 35 Gurreck with Knockdown and Dizzy, Light Armor, 60% Kinetic and 60% Energy, no vulnerabilities and >400 damage, I politely quote them a price of 10 million credits and say that it will be ready in 3 weeks, beginning with their 50% deposit. This deters most of the impossibly difficult requests.
I commonly sell something like a CL 35-36 creature with 10/10/9 ham, light armor, >40% kinetic, 350+ damage and 2 specials for about 45-50K, and my customers seem to in general be quite satisfied. CL 50+ with 12/12/10 or better, 60% Kinetic, 40% Energy and either no or immaterial vulnerabilities (cold for example) and a good set of desirable specials may run in the 100K range, but rarely much higher.
I am still new to the profession, and I may burn out a bit on the special orders as I get more and more of them, but for now at least, creating the ideal pet for my customer's needs is really what I get the most satisfaction from, and the bulk of my efforts go into making the best creatures I can for that reason.
I'm getting lots of requests for tissues and suppliments, and no doubt they will provide a good bit of my income, but I think I will always remain a petmaker, more than anything else. It seems to provide the most challenge and the most reward when I succeed, in terms of my personal enjoyment.

This is my point... I am going to call the guys bluff.. There are pets available out there.. good pets at good prices. I just posted that and dared him to prove me wrong. I asked for names and servers and I am betting that if someone takes me upon this, I can find him a pet with less than 10 minutes effort and you better believe I will post the results on the CH boards.
I also want them to realize that people are listening. If you are saying things that are untrue, they will be challenged.

I will be the 1st to say I charge a lot for my pets... I spend several days making top of the line pets. Each pet is crafted with care to get the best stats for the level. Almost all my pets have Armor/ranged/2powerfull specials and high resists. I do special oders but only take 2 at a time with a week turn around. Every pet on my vender is at least a 3nd gen with most a 5th gen. I am not going to spend days making a pet then sell it for 50k. All my pets without armor sell for 20k pets with armor start at 100k up to 500k for Lv70. I really enjoy the challange of trying to craft the most powerful pets. I do not deal to the short term CH's. My main cliants are long term MCH seeking the best possable creations.
