To respond to all this I guess i'll start by saying, when i posted on the Bty Hunter Forum i just clocked on the wrong forum link
And i'm to low on posts to edit yet. So bleh.
As to the thought about this being an exploit or bug or whatever. I agree that the pet is overpowered and shouldn't be in the game. But it is, and since it is, i plan on using what the game is offering. (none of you can say you didn't heal your vehicles by leaving them out and taking a shuttle) if the devs deem the pets to powerful in the future they can and will if necessary cut the pets down or make it so you can't make anymore.
I spent 2 days looking for a recipe on the boards, to the person that said they are out there, so either i'm the most unlucky person or Idon't have the patience to sort through 50+ pages of search results to find it.
Either way i was asking for help not a lecture. Troll someone elses board and reply to ones that ask for lectures. Answer the question i posted or don't post at all.
And we've been given that, more than once. Before we were told that the pets were in fact beyond the bounds of what was intended, I would have agreed with you. We now know as a fact that these 10k ham creatures were not intended. We know for fact that the pet check system designed to prevent them is buggy and still allows them. Knowing this, then how can seeking out the recipes then create them not be cheating? The big problem with the current situation is that we don't know where the line is. Is the guy that tries to stick with pets that seem reasonable and is making pets just over some line that we aren't aware of cheating? I don't think so and in this case I don't agree that it is fair to lump them in as a cheater. But when people pursue known bugged pets I can't defend it.

Actually i've never repaired my vehicle that way since I knew it to be an exploit. But thanks for assuming everyone's a cheater like you.
You're the one trolling now child, and if you don't have the patience to look for information on your own in this forum then I might suggest BE isn't the profession for you.
Were you one of the people looking to have multiple smugglers slice your equipment too? I mean it was in the game, even tho it was known to be a bug, butsince the slicing system allowed you to do it you were going to take advantage of it too right?
Did you also take advantage of the credit dupe through the bazaar too? It was in the game and any bug in the game should be taken advantage off right?
Yep. You're exactly the type of person we don't need as a BE. Someone willing to exploit a bug in the system to create pets that shouldn't be around for your own gains andsomeone so willing to screw over BE customers.
I hope you never have someone tell you the formula, because quite frankly I don't have any worries that you'd find it on your own.
Well, to again open myself up to flames, I would like to point out that there isn't one magical formula or DNA source for all of this. There are DNA's that are easier to find that are consistantly used in this process, but I have found replacements for ALL of them. I currently have 7 easy formulas for this with different specials and 3 or 4 harder to find, but just as useful formulas that make level 10s with 10-12K/5-9K/3-6K HAM with Kin50+ and sometimes BL40+ with 140-210 Damage.
Thats right. 11 formulas using different DNA to play vulnerabilities against the class. Which is really your answer Forseye. Find something with few vulnerabilities and high kinetic and give it vulnerabilities with other DNA.
It's not bugged DNA, per se, guys. Itsa fact that I think was really well hit on by LLan (Akelan) in a post recently. A high level, high HAM creature with lots of resists that are easy to turn to vulnerabilities (and don't leave you with a Kinetic/Energy combo which shoots the level up) drops the level drastically if you experiment on it right.
Nancy, as soon as I can get some of my monsters screen shotted and posted to imagedump, I will PM you with the link. Still not sure I want to discuss my formulas yet, since I am still in the biz for another few weeks, but if it will help and you agree to some sort of confidentiality for a while, I think you could talk me into it
You are obviously a woman of your word. (Lets get movingTH, Nancy won't tell us anything!I want my 19 questions post!) hehehe
/cackle insanely for dramatic effect
The more we have the easier it will be to track down the problem.
Any info you can give me is great, you've obviously put a lot of hard work into comin up with these formulas and by the sounds of it you've got a pretty good idea of what you're doing with them.
My first one was created more out of laziness and curiosity than anything else. A friend had asked for a CL 10 pet and I didnt feel like trauling off to dantooine, I remembered seeing a recipe on the forums for one of these monstrocities and I looked what samples I had in my bag and just sort of wondered if I could improvise my own version... and it worked

As far as I can tell these pets fall into 2 catagories:-
Beyond the expected limitations of the code: anyone remember 100% composite?
i was about to say the same thing actually........ armor should have the trade-off of heavy encumbrance for increased protection- obviously this system leaves something to be desired as well lol
creatures should be the same way, but some ways have been worked around the system
the only difference with creatures is it takes DNA, which is all roughly the same with each certain creature, but there are millions of DNA combinations, it's impossible to look for every single workaround with the pet crafting system..... htey have to be stumbled upon by experimental BE's

Until you get the first block filled, then create the DNA TEMPLATE.
Then put on Bantha Skin HQ MEAT MQ WILD OATS![]()
Then go to bazar put on for 6k ![]()
Do this 167 times and you my friend will be a millionare ![]()
Do not do on Gorath, I don't want competion on these babies!![]()
Beyond the expected limitations of the code: anyone remember 100% composite?
This wasnt an exploit or a bug, it was a combination of excellent resources, extra experiment points, good looted components and a top quality slice.
This was outside the expected limitation of armour.
In beta you were 'godlike' if you had Chitin, the really top end armours just werent available, there were no master smugglers and I'm not even sure that component loot drops were in the game.
I think this can be compared to something like the VD/HP combo, its possible to get good first gen pets with this recipe with very reasonable stats, however through careful refinement and multiple generations, its possible to make a pet with around 9-10K HAM, which is quite obviously far beyond the expected limitations.
Then we have the bugged combos: The 10K HAM 60% kinetic, high damage combo's that we've all seen.
To me these guys look clearly bugged, rather than pushing the system to its limits through time and generational refinement of a clone
now there are people that would disagree and I have my theories about why these pets are as low in CL as they are but there are people who are adamant that they know why these pets work and that they can create even better because they're so good at BE etc... but they're never willing to share this knowledge with the community.
Obviously if anyone does think they know exactly how these monstrocities are calculated to be so low in CL and want to discuss it with me privately or send me a screenshot of something even more powerful then please send me a PM

Is it just me, or are the only ones complaining about the 10k CL10's are the BE's
You expect the customers to complain?
BE's and Creature handlers are the one's complaining mostly. And that'susually because the borked pet checks kill pets much worse than these and let the 10K 60Kinthrough, basically causing ENDLESS debate and worry over nerfing and banning issues. Still, until Nancy posts a sticky with a red name at the top explaining what exactly is legal and what exactly is exploiting, the debate amongst ourselves will go on I imagine.
I mean, sure, my old armored Mountain Krevol or Rock beetle (or even one of the new droids that don't use a Kinetic attack) would be more than likely to beat one of these creatures, but not by much, so people worry that the pet balance they did backwhen they nerfedour armored Class 15sis getting messed up, but I personally don't see that as the case. Plus, if it were, we would be a higher priority than "Nobody feels like talking to you about anything right now," which is pretty much our CSR/DEV status at the moment.
The CH's that come around here trolling are just pissy because they don't want to buy pets from us and can't find stuff as good in the wild at this level. The good high level pets are actually still "found" in my opinion, since we can't get the most devestating specials onto our BE creatures, despite being beaten on by several "Force Klikniks" that somehow the genosians were able to clone with Force Strike. But that is probably for the best since specials don't count towards level in any way, shape or form.
Anyway, I think my opinion is pretty obvious when it comes to these creatures and the way BE's have been handled by SWG "customer service" in this case. The main reason I offered my assistance and data to the situation is because I am sick of people questioning my Morality based on their own inhibitions, perceptions, and assumed information.
Plus they make me feel safer when I have to play solo ![]()
