Second time lucky, eh?

You tried posting this in the bounty hunter forum, but they turned you away because you're an exploiter - believe me, chum, you'll find the same people here.

Actually expect to have a harsher reception to your question here, since Bounty Hunters will sell their mothers for the right price.

Here you will get nothing but snares and evil looks.

I will give you the recipe though, since I too was a beginner once. The recipe is very difficult so be prepared to travel lots.

First head over to Lok and you must sample from one of the Droideka (sp) droids. I know, you think its not possible but it is, it only happens once every fifteen tries though so keep looking for them. Once you have at least three below average samples (due to resistance bein a little lower) then take those samples and head over to tatooine, from there sample about eight from youth kimos. Now head on over to corellia and get some corellian butterflies. Sample about three of these just for kicks then destroy them. You are doing this just because I like to see the butterflies attack.

Head over to naboo and sample from as many giant pekos as possible. Head to yavin and craft them at the research outpost by the rebel base. It takes a little time to find but you will get it.

So your first combine will be peko/kahmurra/rancor/rancor/r2d2

Do this about three times then click your heels.

You will get the level 10 bantha every time. I guarantee or my name is not Steven Spielberg.

This post has been brought to you by the letter nine, the number A and the word -=say no to drugs=-.

I don't get what everyones problem is around here. I know how to make the CL10 10K HAM pets and while the pet is overpowered it's also definately not an exploit. The pets are made completely legally and under the current rules set by SOE. If those rules are flawed and produce pets that they didn't intend for, then that's SOEs fault and not the BE's fault.

With as many times as the devs take a dump on all of us and the entire BE profession, I'm surprised you guys still take thier side on everything.

You know that those pets are overpowered. Not even combat droids are that powerful, so that argument is moot here. The development team is having a bit of trouble balancing out our system, so issues are still going to arise, and it's well known that invalid pets are -still- being crafted. I'd be extremely cautious about crafting such pets if I were you.

Sorry, but an exploit, by it's very definition, is a bug that players can use to profit from. We have been told very clearly that these pets are only possible due to bugs in the system, that makes it an exploit however you try to rationalize it.

The question, Talthazar, is this: Is a bug something that works ouside the normal or expected performance of the game (the magic vehicle repair when called from another planet) or getting better results from the application of the normal process than the developers expected, without doing anything differently than for any other result?

These pets have been described as an "exploit" because it makes it easier to justify their existance than to admit that the system as designed and when used according to the "rules" results in greater than expected results. Doing so is a distinct injustice to the honesty of the players and does little to cover up the fact that while unintended, no one is doing anything outside the ordinary parameters of the crafting system, except perhaps the developers that have implemented the "after-the-fact" pet check system in an inconsistant and ineffective way to implement a limit that the crafting system does not have.

A statement to the fact of " We did not expect or intend for low level creatures of this effectiveness to be created when we developed and implemented the crafting system" from SOE would go a LONG way towards correcting the situation that has become apparent; describing people that get unexpected results by careful effort within the rules as somehow "cheating" does not.

If you make something possible, whether you intended to or not, then tell people to use it this way, and they do, are they cheating by getting better results, or are you being disingenuous to decry their better than expected results as cheating. You make a game, say do as well as you can in it, then tell people that win that they are cheating - who is it that is in the unjustifiable position here?

BTW, as to the initial poster, I'm not planning to post the recipe for the 10K health level 10's either. They don't belong in the game, and I am hoping to see the system fixed so that by following the normal processes, the more reasonable level pets are stable and usable, while the "monsters" are not. What I am not hoping for is yet another person making the monsters and spamming at the starports for these at rip-off prices. If that is not your intention, I am sorry to misjudge you, but it is far too common in posts like yours not to follow the logical assumption.

The fact still remains that the pets, however overpowered the devs may consider them, were not crafted using any exploits in the game. If I had to go out and abuse a bug in the system to sample creatures I shouldn't be sampling, and then using that bugged DNA to make a pet then I could see you calling it an exploit. However this is not the case and you simply take legitamate, non bugged DNA, and then spend legitimate experimentation points to adjust the stats accordingly.

I'm not defending these CL10 monsters, I know that they're overpowered and will be nerfed sometime, which is exactly why I don't make or sell them myself. I've only made a total of 4 of these pets and they were just for friends to toy around with after I explained to them they would probably get nerfed sometime in the future. I'm simply tired of the devs creating a completely flawed crafting system for bio engineers, not providing any solid information about it even when we beg for it, and then trying to punish us after the fact once we find a recipie that isn't in spec with thier original vision even though we're crafting them 100% within the boundaries of thier system. Why are we getting punished for the devs mistakes? By calling this an "exploit" you lump it in with the same category as those who willingly and knowingly exploit actual bugs in the system such as ghosting through barries put in place to keep people out of a dungeon the devs have not made active yet. Or the people who duped credits, or those who chose to double and triple slice weapons.

We are simply crafting legitimate pets using legitimate DNA and experimentation only to get punished for it in the end all because the devs slipped up. If they were more open with us, and told us without a doubt what it is that's causing these pets to drop to CL10 and why it is an exploit then I would agree with you and would shun those who craft these pets just as I have those who made and use the bugged CL1(0) pets. The whole problem here is the devs keep us in the dark about our profession and force us to guess what it is we should be doing. Even in your own "CL10 is still too much" thread the only bit of information the devs gave us is that they are simply that. Too much. They didn't say why they are too much, by how far they are too much, or how we can avoid making the overpowered pets or give an example of how we can make legitimate pets that they believe are within spec.

Anyway, I'm not going to ramble on about this anymore. I gave up on BE when TH had that friday feature which was nothing more than a copied and pasted version of the already existing FAQ that the community wrote and a couple fancy pictures thrown in. That right there showed me how much effort they're interested into putting into our profession and squelched all hopes of our problems being fixed any time soon. Bio Engineer simply isn't on thier "to do" list and I feel it wont be for a long time to come, letting everyone involved with the profession suffer for it until they decide to make time to fix what went terribly wrong.

Thats one of the main reason I quit BE. After they fixed all the bugged pets I made. That and the sp it took up. having mastered BE took up to much xp. then master scout to mask my sent plus some ranger left me with no sp to set up a shop. But i did manage to make a few lv 70 pets that were hard to sell.
