I've seen several links mentioned throughout. This is excellent information BTW! Can you please post the web-addresses for some other BE informational sites. In general, being new to galaxies (first month), where/how to find or buy ingredients besides DNA for creature crafting.

Awsome guide! I wanted to thank you for this because I'm still sort of blundering along through my experimentations likea Mad Scientist! Hee! Um. I did want to make an addendum that I've discovered though in regards to your pet crafting.
[quote]Skin also seems to effect whether the ranged attack from the template can actually be used. Apparently only skins, which have wild creature with ranged attack, can actually use ranged attack. Skins where the creature the skin is named for have ranged attack are, angler, bagaraset, blurrg, bocatt, cu pa, dune lizard, kliknik, shear mite, squall and vesp. Skins which have ranged version but it is not the names creature are hermit spider (hermit spider queen), bolle bol (bolle bol colt), dalyrake (dalyrake matriarch) kwi (rhoa kwi guardian), merek (toxic merek battlelord) and kimogila (giant dune kimogila).

Actually I've found that bearded jaxs can also be created into ranged attacks. I have yet to see one in the wild who can do ranged. Hee! I have a little Jax I made out of Arachne Webmaster DNA and she sits back by me and warble shoots at everyone.
. I hope that does help a little.

For those grinding through BE, I suggest you go to Dantooine for Piket Longhorns, or Endor for Bolle Bols. Take two missions, milk each creature and sample its DNA. You'll get a good supply of creature food for grinding as well as 350+ DNA sampling XP per creature. At 9 creatures per lair, that's about 750 units of milk per lair and 3300 DNA sampling xp per lair.
Note that Bolle Bols don't spawn babies, so that probably makes them a better source.
If you're doing this, here's a few tricks to speed it up. First, make sure you peace before sampling, unless it's the last creature. They're social, but social creatures only help each other once they see YOU attack THEM, not the other way around. If one attacks you, just lead it away a bit before killing it. Alternatively, take along some Cavaellian Creams and just let them incapacitate you, they don't death blow. Just keep an eye on your incap count and let the 10 minutes pass if you get a second incap.
Next, you can milk a corpse, as long as it's still warm. Meaning, you can start milking a creature and DNA sampling it at the same time. If the DNA sample kills it, don't worry, you'll keep milking away happily, and as a bonus, the creature will stop walking away from you! If the DNA sample starts combat, your milking will fail, but you'll be able to get the herbivore meat when you kill it anyway.
So there you have it! Credits, resources and experience, all at once!

Talthazar,
First I have to say that your info and work here is awesome, very helpful to a new BE like me.
I have one issue / question...
/Quote:
Crafting Part 1: What to Grind and How
.....
Note: when you grind the supplements, use FLORA for slots 1 and 2, and use meat only for slot 3. If you double click on the meat first, it will fill slot 1 and then slot 3; meat is by far the more rare and expensive resource, so double click on it ONLY after the other two slots are filled with the flora.
....
/endQuote
This leads me to believe that I can use FLORA as creature food, but the game doesn't seem to let me, every where else I look it says that creature food is meat?
Am I missing something or is this guide in error?
Thanks
Osu

You need to change your number in the /selectDraftSchematic ## line. If you want this to go faster, try typing just that line in spatial as a command. Keep changing the number until the right schematic comes up. If you are getting the same yeast no matter what number is used in your macro, then you have an error in that line. If you can't find theerror, try erasing and retyping that line. Make sure the previous line ends in a semicolon.

Also to find other schemetics on /selectDraftSchematic ## you need to start with the number you are currently selectingand work your way down (40, 39,38,37...). Every item has a schematic number assigned. The last schametic number for you under this scenario is apparently Hyper Yeast and it is schematic number xx.
So start with one less that number in your command /selectDraftSchematic xx. If that still brings up Hyper Yeast, use the next lowest number in the command. Repeat until you find the schematic you want.
Do not increase the numbers in the schematic selection higher than what you are getting because If you select numbers higher than the number that selected Hyper Yeast the system brings you back to Hyper Yeast schematic.
Hope this helps!

Nice guide, definetly is helping me out
I think what the quote you posted, wrayth, is pointing towards the fact that Micro nutrients need three 'types' of resources: organic, creature food, and flora food. Since meat (creature food too) is organic, if you click on that first, then that will first go into the organic slot, which you probably wouldn't want to do unless you're sitting on more meat than you have flora. Other wise, fill up the organic AND the flora food slot with whatever flora you have, then click the meat you have to only fill up the creature food. Conserves that precious meat, eh?
Flora (food) , as far as I know, is working OK if it doesn't go into the creature food slot...

See Allakhazam's schematic details for the Broad Spectrum Nutrients. Note the requirements are: 20x Creature Food, 25x Flora Food, 35x Organic. Next, visit SWGCraft.com's excellent Resource Tree. This will show you that Creature Food and Flora Food, along with Creature and Flora Structural, are Organics. Thus, you can use Meat in the Organic slot, if you so desire.
However, if you have the choice between a Creature resource and a Flora resource (ie, a slot requiring Organics), it's almost always better to use the Flora resource. Collecting Flora resources is as hard as plopping down a Flora Farm of some sort and giving it power/maintainence. Collecting Creature resources is significantly more time consuming, and so Creature resources are more expensive, either in time or credits.
So, to grind through Bio-Engineer, I recommend my above approach: go to Dantooine/Endor, take missions for Piket Longhorns/Bolle Bols, milk the creatures, hit peace, DNA sample them. Remember to follow closer than "/follow" does for the milking to work! If the creature attacks you, just run away far enough that its friends won't join in, then turn round and give it the old one-two. Past DNA Sampling II, you'll successfully get 90-100 units of milk and one or more DNA samples per creature, and some free credits from the missions to boot. Use the credits to buy power and pay maintenance on a small Flora Farm or two, and by the time you're done with DNA Sampling, you'll have plenty of resources to grind out the crafting lines.
