If CH's only purpose is to tame and train animals, then who the heck are you taming and training them for? I guess I should stop making level 35 gurreck sets, because CH's only train pets, they don't fight with them. /boggle

Oh gosh yes, I have read many... many posts in the CH forum blatently saying BE should be nerfed. Those posts are non constructive toward really fixing anything, and they incite disagreement between professions.

It's those posts/posters that I take issue with when I say don't call for a nerf on one profession to benifit another... think of a constructive way to improve your profession while leaving the others out of the argument.

By the way, I am a master CH, not a BE at all. I posted to this thread to let the BE community know that not all CHs are out to get them as some posters in the CH forum would have them think. Once again, just trying to get across not to generalize an entire community because of a few bad apples as all that does is incite more bad feelings for the other profession.

And the "adventure" and the effort of your DNA sampling somehow carries over onto your clients? They get all excited vicariously as you tell them of your epic sampling trip?

I can effortlessly purchase a BE pet. You can, with great effort, produce a fantastic pet. Who had more (or any) fun and/or accomplishment when this transaction is finished?

When you go to great pains to produce a fine product that's great. When you put out mediocre effort and beat our rarest, most difficult to find wild pets, that's terrible.

The BE pets are phenomenally better than wild pets. The best BE pets widen the gap even further.

My best pet right now is BE gurreck. He's lvl 53. He has light armor, 50% kinetic, 48% energy, 33% blast, 84% heat and cold, 8% electric, 2% cold and is vulnerable to stun. His specials are knockdown and stunning strike. Speed is 1.98, to-hit is 1.48, damage is 450-460. His HAM is 10891/11609/9617. With just the light armor, energy and kinetic resists he's better than anything available in the wild for general purpose combat. The knockdown and heat resist make him a contender in PvP.

There is absolutely nothing tameable in the wild which is better. Not the ultra-rares, not the bull rancors, nothing. What did I have to do? Hunt in a duo or trio on Endor for 2 or 3 days to get the 231k.There are creatures with potentially better individual stats, if anyone could tame a frenzied graul or merek harvester he could be beat for kinetic resists but that's the only way you could even nitpick and claim he's not as good.

Do I expect to find wild pets as good as my BE gurreck? Not at all, I didn't ever expect engineered pets to be as good as he is for general combat. Do I expect to hunt the rarest of the rare and find high-end wild pets that don't look like an absolutejoke compared to the BE pets? Of course I do, and that's not unfair of me to ask.

BE's are not a one-trick pony. Making pets for CH is not the only thing you do. Taming and training pets *is* the only thing we do. The fun has been sucked out of the stand-out feature of our profession. Now we're at best a decent crowd control in PvE and at worst a curiousity.

"Check this out, the CH's that have remained in the profession apparently think their sole purpose in the game is to tame pets... This post got 9 pages of posts so far and is still raging."

They feel the must tame pets, but don't know why. They do not post about the mission they do with their pets. I predict that at some point the game will throw them a bone. I hopethey give them apurpose rather than taking the bone from us."

As a master ch and master be, I'm constantly disappointed by the arrogance of the posts I read in this forum.

Pets are nerfed to nothing

CH's are nerfed to near nothing

Rare pets are so rare its insane

And the only thing you folks can do is heap more nastyness on a profession that has been nerfed into near oblivion.

When I talk to CH's in the game that I plan to sell a pet to, I always make a special point to say I'm not like the BEs you read posts from on the official forums.

Actually, there are many unique qualities of Pets that can be tamed that BEs can not replicate. Area of Effect attacks come immediately to mind. No matter what I put in my Rancor, I can never get one with thaat, despite the fact that naturals come with it. Poison spray and force strike are other specials that can be aquired if you can tame the right creatures that are not BE engineerable.

Overall CH's are a combat class that can go out and find their own guns. If you have to go to go to a weaponsmith BE to get the best guns, then that is comparable with every other class in the game. If you want something different with powers other than a BE clone, then find out what we CAN'T make and start taming those for sale.

Being a BE and having a shop full of, wot seems to be Nerved pets, has made my day, NOT!

It really beggers belief why all this nerfing is going on. We r scientests and should be able to make extra ordinary pets!

Where in the same tokern CH should be able to find Tougher Rare Pets to wot we can make as they r from the wild and shall we say "Street Wise" (the pets that is)

Also i read someone saying that CHs use there pets as there guns, So why shouldnt we make or them find uber pets as if u was to goto a good Weopon Smith he could make u a uber Gun for the right price.

Heheheh u know wots kinda of funny my m8 who is a Master CH had 3 pets of me wiv V good stats for there lvls and they have been nerfed and he is guttered!

Goto to laugh else u cry wiv all the moaning and nerfing!

As has been mentioned before - it seems to down to a vocal minority rather than the general populous. I guess that if any change of whatever type is made then someone is going to complain .

I've been a master CH for 6 months, and frankly haven't noticed the "nerfs". There lies the problem I think. SOE deliberately targeted the 'dabblers' and I think it's they who have 'suffered' the most from the changes and are the most vocal about it. I've never made use of obviously bugged pets either (a lot of people complaining about pet CL resets.........).

For the record - I'm quite happy with the CH profession as it is. My datapad is split roughly 50/50 wild/BE'd pets (ironically I use the wild pets more). I can handle any solo mission I can pull (even without any combat skills other than CH). The only time I die is when I do something stupid or get careless. I don't feel nerfed.

Sorry, I just don't see a problem here.

The true measure of whether a profession is 'broken' or not is how many people actually play it. Notice the order in which the devs are giving professions some lovin'? BE first, now Chef, next DE.

They're looking at the number of people actually playing the profession, not the number of people complaining on the forums. (This was true of the CH changes too - there were a disproportionate number of Novice CH's)

Well, frankly, I think I've heard enough carping. I am a MCH/(almost)MBE and I work both sides of the fence. I am growing positively SICK of the "oh woe is me- I'm a CH" routine.

Gimme a break. If it weren't for you, BEs wouldn't make pets for anything other than decorations in PA halls and homes. Hello? Who's gonna train them otherwise?

Here's another point in CH favor: We can sell you birdies and snakes and kangaroo-like thingies (quenkers, etc.) so Nyah Nyah Neener Neener!

With the non-ch pet nerf, people more than ever are either going to need to have a CH hunt with them or become one themselves...I turn away lots of eager customers (read:noob idiots) that want me to make them a pet they can hunt with...("Well, I would make you a level 10 gurrcat, Skip Vader*, but you're here on Yavin 4 with me; he won't last two minutes out there")

So Creature Handlers, Take Heart! We BE's love you; we NEED you. Without you to tame and train our vicious Frankensteinian creations, we are naught but low-end medics and high-end taxidermists.

* Skip Vader is a ficticious character..If he truly exists, I never met him so I'm not gonna apologize for nothin'...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but CHs are wantingmore wild pets that are rare but "better" than a BE pet. However, if the devs were to put such a creature out there, then said creature can also be SAMPLED by a BE, and IMPROVED on by a BE through experimentation.Once BEs start doing that, wouldn't the vocal minority start screaming bloody murder again because now there are better pets than the ones they asked for? Are they going to ask that such creatures be immune to DNA sampling? Seems to me that we'd just end up back to the same complaining cycle.

You see the stats on a wild gurreck lately? level 50, 10k+ ham and here's the good part 590-600 damage and deathblow.. You don't see damage like that on a BE pet under level 60... There ARE some advantages to wild animals, including Deathblows. The CLadjustment wasn't for the worst, and BE is more randomly praying for a good pet then engineering a good pet, because of the randomness of the stats on individual DNA and the 'unpredictable' nature of combinations and experimentation you end up with pets that are either too weak on attack, to low on to hit, or the bane of all, NO ARMOR.... nothing worse than ending up with a cl35+ BE pet with no armor and crappy resists because you're using merke or arachne DNA that comes in at 30-45% kinetic

Matsubaayou forget that most BE's are master CH as well so your trying to tell us things about our profesions you know nothing about , while we know everything about your profesion. I can tell you for sure that being a BE is far harder than being a CH , im both so i should know . CH is my first love but its absolute nonsense for CH's to start moaning at BE's . All BE's get all day is CH's asking for uber pets , yet you try to say CH's dont want our pets . never a day goes buy were i have to turn off my MBE title . Trust me if you havent made a so called uber level 70 pet then you have no idea of the hassle involved . Its a walk in the park taming any creature compared to making them . And the crit fails make you wanna cry . Why you think there is so much more demand than supply ?? because they take so much time and effort to make . I've had loads of CH's constantly offering me wheelbarrows full of money for pets , why dont i make them all the time??? because its bloody hard and more importantly takes a long time.
