Thread: CH's ready to tar and feather.

Did anyone call for a nerfing of BE? We're all a bit miffed at the bugged pets and the *massively* better stats on BE pets. You guys aren't just supplying good pets, they are bar none better than anything available in the wild.
Actually, there are many unique qualities of Pets that can be tamed that BEs can not replicate. Area of Effect attacks come immediately to mind. No matter what I put in my Rancor, I can never get one with thaat, despite the fact that naturals come with it. Poison spray and force strike are other specials that can be aquired if you can tame the right creatures that are not BE engineerable.
Overall CH's are a combat class that can go out and find their own guns. If you have to go to go to a weaponsmith BE to get the best guns, then that is comparable with every other class in the game. If you want something different with powers other than a BE clone, then find out what we CAN'T make and start taming those for sale.
As has been mentioned before - it seems to down to a vocal minority rather than the general populous. I guess that if any change of whatever type is made then someone is going to complain
.
I've been a master CH for 6 months, and frankly haven't noticed the "nerfs". There lies the problem I think. SOE deliberately targeted the 'dabblers' and I think it's they who have 'suffered' the most from the changes and are the most vocal about it. I've never made use of obviously bugged pets either (a lot of people complaining about pet CL resets.........).
For the record - I'm quite happy with the CH profession as it is. My datapad is split roughly 50/50 wild/BE'd pets (ironically I use the wild pets more). I can handle any solo mission I can pull (even without any combat skills other than CH). The only time I die is when I do something stupid or get careless. I don't feel nerfed.
Sorry, I just don't see a problem here.
The true measure of whether a profession is 'broken' or not is how many people actually play it. Notice the order in which the devs are giving professions some lovin'? BE first, now Chef, next DE.
They're looking at the number of people actually playing the profession, not the number of people complaining on the forums. (This was true of the CH changes too - there were a disproportionate number of Novice CH's)
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but CHs are wantingmore wild pets that are rare but "better" than a BE pet. However, if the devs were to put such a creature out there, then said creature can also be SAMPLED by a BE, and IMPROVED on by a BE through experimentation.Once BEs start doing that, wouldn't the vocal minority start screaming bloody murder again because now there are better pets than the ones they asked for? Are they going to ask that such creatures be immune to DNA sampling? Seems to me that we'd just end up back to the same complaining cycle.
