The only people I would GIVE a schematic to would be a Master Chef in my guild. I have sold some but only when my factoried we currently full of other things so I couldn't run off some.

I normally wont sell a scematic as I feel my prices for a crate of the stuff is pretty reasonable. But on occasion I have sold them, I think I have sold 2 now and they were both for 100k a piece. This person has also purchased crates from me on the past and has since then.

I charge 3x the normal additive price for 1k schematic.

To be honest.. I am happy to sell a schematic, simply because my 4 factories are always running and the vendor is sold out with 10 hours. Supplying people with schematics, will make them come back for regular additives if they run out of resources *grins

I planned to do BE and Chef from the beginning mostly because of this issue. It really limits what else I can do with my charachter but the way Chef is now you have to have suppliments. And one thing that gets me, I see alot of BE's grumbling about how chefs charge too much for their brandy, but then they won't sell crates of suppliments at any less of a marked up price than the brandy is. Unless you don't get any of your own resources or pay retarded prices for meat then a crate of suppliments should not cost your 50-80k. I'm lucky enought to be able to make my own so my food prices are alot lower too. I sell crates of decent Bio-engineerd food for what I've seen suppliments going for.

Play the game how you want to. Truth be told, SWG is a horrible example of player run economy. Without getting REALLY into it...

Why does anyone need merchant skill to hire someone?

On one account I have a Master Pistoleer, Master CH and medic 4/3/4/0. When I'm out killing monsters and get a Krayt Pearl, Bile Soaked Rancor tooth, etc. How am I supposed to sell it? By being a peasant who shouts in the middle of a starport begging for change? What kind of economy is that?

I would like to think in the future (Star wars fantasy or not [I hated the movies]), you can log into Ebay and sell anything you want from your home, in the nude, while cooking dinner.

My other account is a MBE, MDE.

I don't like people, I don't like "chatting." I sell pets, not schematics. I like the impersonal aspect of having a vendor (Albiet a f**king robot, because I think merchant is complete BS) and people give me 150k for a kilo that I made from 1 gaping spider and 1 rancor.

If you want to think about the "Role playing" aspect of the game, you really have 2 options (duh). First of all, your a scientist, not a hardcore mortal combat champion. Most Scientists (I have met) don't let secrets out. Or, when they find something out, they tell everyone.

I give my schematics away for free. if the chef feels the need to tip me, that is their own doing. If i dont charge, they dont raise their prices. Now, when brandy becomes more common, which is always the case in a limited creativity system, it will become cheaper. At that time, I will start charging for schematics.
