Cut it to 30 seconds then. Don't forget that you can't sample while aggro'd so it's not like this would be a continuous thing. If the fight lasted longer than X seconds, and the BE hasn't made it out, he probably won't.

Not really, it should only apply to Creatures, because we got our butts kicked by Nightsisters before anyway....
But thats a lot of unique coding too - I still am leaning towards a +25 Maskscent mod in the MBE box as our best bet in the short term.
Or maybe alter /sampledna to include some sort of creature mezz. You initiate a sample and it 'dazes' the creature. This 'daze' would reduce the creatures reaction time and damage output for 60 seconds. It should also 'root' you so you can perform no other action until the sample is done. If it fails and aggros, you have a little time to get outa dodge, even if you take a few hits from the still 'dazed' creature.
They could also increase the effectiveness of /sampledna at Master so we don't fail so often. I already think it's not working right on TC - I sampled a CL15 Bagaraset 10 times tonight, failed 8 times, got two samples then an aggro. This thing was CL15 for crissakes, I'm a friggin MASTER BE - whats going to happen when I try a Rancor?
As a MBE/MCH today on TC (with froggies - yay!) I had Marksman 0402 and was a CL57 player. I can only imagine the issues I would have /sampling a Mutant Rancor at CL75 - BOOM I'm dead.
IE: no more high level pets for anyone. If we do make them, they would run 5-10mil a piece and take a month to make. Can you imagine the CH communities hate for us? We'd never sell em, cuz they'd rather just go /tame a baby for free.

What if BEs could take a single sample and clone the actual sample, destroying the original in the process? It would be a schematic of course, and the resultant cloned samples would be too instable to clone again. You would still go out and hunt for perfect samples to mass reproduce, but it would reduce the need to sample 10 ultra high level monsters to get the DNA template you need for one creature.

I have MBE and TKM on TC now, and have no problems sampling from Endor, Dantooine, or Lok. Haven't tried Dathomire yet. On live I can get into trouble sampling on Dath without buffs and if I'm careless with the same template.
On another note, I know that Endor hasn't been converted yet, but I had no problem killing Merek Death Heads last night as a level 57 hybrid BE/TK. It was a good fight. If it could have put the poison and disease dots on me it would have been a tougher fight, but I think I would have still won.
By contrast I need buffs and armor to do the same thing on live now. There was one time when the MDH won even when I did have buffs and armor on. Not needing the buffs and armor is kinda nice actually.

This is FANTASTIC news. I tried to get into TC-EP3 this morning to do exactly that but I couldn't get in.
