Thread: Ethics
I can't even begin to go over the amount of time I've spent with customers explaining how things work. I've spent upwards of an hour with people explaining everything. On my vendor, I always put CL and special abilities, along with whether the pet is bugged or not. If the customer still makes a mistake (half the time because they haven't read my description), I will give a full refund.
Spazzers, you spoke to the people who pass judgement without gathering a fair amount of information. Trust me, I am not doing that, but let me tell you what happened yesterday and you be the judge.
First I wanna say that I am interested in the reputation of our profession. That reputation is constructed by you and all the BE's in your area.To call people on ethics opens a good meaning person up to the most venemous hate. That is not a high road that should be taken lightly, especially if you do not get the support of your piers. Now 2 days in a row, I have run into this situation. Let me tell you about when I was in game.
A non CH approaches me and asks if I have pets..... I fix her up. She explains that she has this Dewback that does not work. I say that is because they are level 18 and that she would have to be a CH to use it. She says, do you wanna buy it? I do not want any dewbacks, theyare only half of what is needed to sell. So I look at it and check out who the creator is. I say, I am sure that if you contact this person, they will be happy to refund your money. She says, I don't think I wanna skrew with it, but i encourage her to do this. So we get done and she leaves.
So I contact "Kii" on the Lowca server in Theed. I send Kii an email asking that when she sell Dewbacks to please insert the CL that, the ones that cannot be used as a non CH pet should be labeled when selling in the Bazaar. THis was after me going to the bazaar and finding another one just like it there. I never sell on the bazaar so I was not watching. Well She writes back and says that it is the duty of the customer to find out what they can use and what they can't. She also says that she has no way of knowing the CL's anyway. I write back and say. I am here a lot. If you need to know, send me a tell and I will give you the information. She writes back, "when Ver wants the information in there, they will put it there". So I have written this person off as a cheap used car dealer looking to exploit where possible. I included in writing the BE's name because they made no effort to discuise the ploy. There was obviously no guilt. Even though she said she would return the money for people who make mistakes, that does not clear up the situation. It also does not keep it out of my lap. Returning money is like rebates. You will never have to return all of them.
I find this kind of stuff going on every day.
I Love this Profession so much, that I will do it till I'm broke.

Is it wrong to kill a Jedi when he/she is engaged in combat with other jedi? im not talking about low level marks but those 300+k marks you see on the boards.
Sic 'em.
You really wouldn't be doing them a favor anyway, by waiting. Even if they kill you, someone else is going to get 'em. Help them get off the terms and toss in a free trip to the cloner.

Assuming that it was possible to trash-talk to gain antactical advantage, froman observer's point of view it would still appear childish and immature.

I wouldn't say trash talking is unethical as long as it's used in a tactical sense instead of a childish, ego-boosting way.
