Thread: Buying meat: Are doctors killing the tissue suppliers?

...you obviously missed the chef/BE pricing discussions, the prices we charge arent because we want to set a 'fair' price, a fair price would be around 80k a crate for BSNs, the prices are like they are because thats what chefs are willing to pay.

Im a Ranger and i hunt mainly for the thrill of the hunt. I dont use mission terminals. And would Love to get BE/Chef contracts. But i cant find any that are willing to make them. I mean 20k at 20-40 CPU is not a bad price as long as its a Vendor on a core world. Dont ask us to goto lok harvest Domesticated meat and drop on dantooine for 10 cpu. Its not gonna happen.
Please move to Sunrunner
it's impossible to get anyone to hunt for less than 50cpu, currently the rangers are charging >175cpu for avian, hard to compete with.

So, sure, I could buy plenty of meat with my 70 million credits, but then I'd be stuck with tissues that I could only sell if I sold them for less than they cost me to make. That's not a sound business strategy.
I just started doing tissues about two months ago. I went completely broke buying all my resources for my first order, which was only a half run, and when the customer bought the tissues, I had only made 50K more than I spent on resources. I just couldnt get enough profit to really break into the market. I put up my own flora harvestor, but still no real luck. In the past few weeks, its also become nearly impossible to find a stack of meat larger than 5k, and those stacks are usually poor quality anyway. I now offer no tissues for tailors, decided to go tailor myself so that I can make some profit that way, and I only offer schematics for chefs to throw in their factories. They get their own resources, bring them to me, I charge 10k to make the schematic then and there for them or else they drop 100u of resources off at my vendor for each schematic they want, I make and then deliver to their vendor. Two customers buying schematics this way has given me more profit than my one customer that I made tissues for.
