Thread: BE Creatures
Can someone tell me what resources Bio Engineers need to make creatures? Could you also tell me what resources a Kimogila would require?

i was thinking about mounts and their uselessness with speeders. and then i thought, y not let BE experiment on the speed of the creature. this could keep mounts competitive with speeders. well thats my 2 cents.
This is a good idea, why nt post this in lamms post asking for new ideas?
It is a good idea. One thing to keep in mind is that you're going to be spending time and experiment points to get the speed up. In effect you'll be giving up another stat.
On the other hand, if a generic BE pet with no experimentation on speedhas the same speed as a wild animal (slow), using those points experimenting on speed will justify the cost of using the exp points to create a fast pet. A CH (if there are any left) may be more apt to purchase a faster pet that does less damage or has less health.
The reality of the game is that, with every patch, pets are become more and more a liability than an asset. The pet AI is worse than it has ever been. Pets aregetting stuck in aggro, forgetting commands, becoming unhealable, run off on their own to attack things, can be outrun by a player on foot, or just start walking after a point in time and must be stored or become lost in the dust.
And now there is a proposal to create a dynamic that draws aggro of a mob on the pet owner when the owner tells the pet to attack. The owner of the pet might as well just run into the mob yelling Leroy Jenkins at the top of his lungs. Pets have no tanking abilities because anyone with a decent weapon will out damage the pet. In this new senario the pets lose their pulling abilities as well. All a pet will do is draw aggro on tothe owner.
Unless the developers stop "balancing" creature handlers (read driving CH's from the profession or the game completely) you won't have a market for your animals at all.

to be honest up till now, none of my recipes have ever needed full experimentation, so an extra exp line wouldn't realy take away any points for me

Good point!
A fast mount with 2 fast (insert other animal here) would be very beneficial to creature handlers. I know I'd be interested in owninga fast trio that could travel together. As it is, I can travel faster off on foot, and in many cases safer.

I've been asking for this for a long time... and specifically since testing the p17 code.'
EDIT: note also that since p17, all pets have lost their speed. cats aren't speedy anymore, and bunnies aren't slothful. mounts still slow in combat (worse, they can forget where they're headed and turn to attack... with bad results). we'll see if a fix for the OLD speed comes, and I'll keep asking for some useful experimentable stats (unlike armor, to-hit, and defense)... but don't make any plans yet.

what forum do i post new ideas in?
In this forum, but post it in the thread called 'an inspiration to BE's' or something like that, at the moment it's the one below this one
Also what would be nice IMO is Storage on a pet
