We dont yet know weather they will or not.

Geesh.... I'm asking about how they will Balance the CL on the pets. I'm not complaining about CL10 pets being balanced. Yes, there's a problem. Everyone knows there's a problem. But that's not what this thread is about.

Plain and simple, I'm trying to get any information with regards to the balance.

a MCH will have a CL of 30 or 70 or 80 or eleventeen (depends on who you ask) solo.

you're a CH (or non-CH)... you call a pet.

now the question is: will a pet take it's own CL? the owner's CL? the group's CL?

if you're a nonCH and you call a CL10... from the above questions: it'll die. it'll be horribly overpowered (full combat templates with CL_superhigh will outclass CH's). it'll be vastly overpowered.

if you're a CH and you call a CLxx... again: it'll live or die (probably the latter) depending on targets. it'll have power equal to the skill point investment of the user (which might be overpowered if CL other than CH is taken into the calculation). it'll be vastly overpowered.

with the current CL iterations, it looks like pet CL = combat effective CL is the best solution (causes the least imbalance, though is terribly weak overall). the current CL code is awful. I hope we see significant changes in theory and implementation soon.

we're still testing the UI, the novice professions, and the basic CL system... we'll know more later.

My concern is that IF there is a rebalance, this dev team has a bad history in how they handle it. The 1st time they did this, it was not done right and had to be corrected and STILL does not function correctly.

Its been a long time since I've been a BE. I was one through the 1st revamp and picked it up with my 2nd toon just to make money. I dropped it once I figure out a receipe for making pets at 32-38 w 50%+ kin, armor and intim and 66-70 pets of the same. There was really no reason to make anything else and CHs all but dissappeared. Now I may have to grind it all up again since my main is a Doctoleer, probably soon to be a Commadoc, and theres no crafting in doc.

Just remember, BE is the hardest crafting to understand in the game, BOTH by the players AND the devs. (The devs have stated that even they dont completely understand the system.)

Its time to wait, apprehensively.

I just got 0001 CH last night in spite of server stability issues and found out thatpets take the groups CL.
