What a crime it is that we can't at least take a crack at the higher level stuff to mix with low-level to make Upper Medium strength pets with stuff that doesn't make them look like Frenzied Grauls all the dang time..

-that, and I owe that Blurrg Raptor Bee-yatch some payback....

Not sure what the cap is but there must be one :/ I spent almost 4 hours a few days ago trying to sample from an Ancient Bull Rancor....... needless to say it never happened

Im a master BE, and last night I sampled Rnacor Youths, which seem to have better stats than Rancors. I also sampled a Singing Night Clan Rancor, once...lol

Also, I can sample from Young Makloc Plainswalkers, but I cant do anything at all with Female Makloc Plainswalkers or regular Makloc Plainswalkers. Has anyone been able to sample those??

Yeah, rancors youths have better resists, but i dont think they have armor. I spent at least 1-2 hours last night trying to sample a singing rancor, but the witches always got me first

last night i sampled a bull Malkoc.....

Ithink whatthe original posterwas asking was whether there is a block on the level of creature he could sample, much the same as the "You can't tame that" message you get when trying to tame creatures beyond your limit as a CH, not what his chances of success would be against this critter compared to that critter. I'm well aware of the almost non-existant chance of success against some top level geezers, but it doesn't mean to say it's not possible (unless there really is a cap, of course).

Is that right Fortuno?

Yes !

And also, my question was : since as a Bio-E I only have Hunting IV, how do I know, or guess, what a creature CL is ?

I'd say looking at the HAM bar and resists would be a good indication, but yet I don't know exactly who would be CL20 or who there CL30. I did some Fambaas this morning at sampling I and also a plain hunter yesterday, yet I don't know how high I can try....

Basically, you don't. There are websites which list all creatures, their CLs, HAM, resists etc etc which you can refer to. the best I know of is www.swgcreatures.com. This has an advanced search option where you can actually select max CL, aggro/non-aggro etc.
