You can also do what I did when I hunted them. That is get two of them together and let them fight each other. Their resists make it so they don't hurt each other, but they wont attack you unless you get too close. Hit them with bleeds and flame and watch the show.

I recently hunted these birdies.
They're not as fearsome as you might think.
Our group consisted of 5.
1) Me, a TKM (with Master brawler) / BE
2) A Master Pistoleer/Master Dancer
3) A Master TK/Master Commando
4) A Master Doctor/Master Tailor, and;
5) A Novice rifleman
We had *no* problem even handling two at a time.
I did most of the tanking, with 80% kinetic resist composite and intimidate2, my HAM barely moved.
Managed to loot 2 feathers out of killing 3 or 4. (One, might've been the 5th, despsawned as we were sneaking up on it)
Why is this on the BE boards?

Found a random spawn, and AFAIK all random spawns have a cycle of four...
[edit] - Forgot to mention, it was due south of Kaadara.
