Warlord...you claim to have read the sticky...It's up to 6 pages now and is FULL of the advice you're seeking. Your approach to your post smacks of ignorance, impatience, and an inability to read.

  • Highlights of the post that's stickied (would you have read it) include:

  • A more detailed macro for crafting for max XP

  • A macro for sampling DNA

  • The highest yield creatures from which to get XP

  • The best "grind" schematics

What's insulting about your post is that not only did you belittle the profession and hijack our board, but the knowledge is there, has been accumulated, shared openly, and is right at the top of our forums. Nevertheless, you still felt inclined to post.

My favorite thing in the world is to watch someone gallavant around with the utter self-righteousness they feel they deserve because they're going to become a jedi having to grind a profession they truly hate. You may be in hell, but I think most of us on this forum are reasonably satisfied with that. Your approach to the FSCS is the OPPOSITE of what jedi are supposed to represent...patience, virtue, diligence.

Good luck on leveling jedi if you ever get there. We'll be waiting here to hunt you down.

Add me to the list guys,

Got BE for holo yesterday after finishing CM in a week. I jinxed myself by praying that I wouldn't get dancer or musician. So now that I got my novice title last night I decided to go run around Naboo and find some stuff to sample. Ran into a group of Bolle Bols and when I took my sample, low and behold he fell down dead. Pretty funny to me considering how I used to go TK on them. Now without the aggro on 4 or 5 before one attacks me life is pretty good. A question arose from all of this though. Should I take destroy missions and just sample my way through the DNA grind? It isn't much to destroy a lair, so I wonder if that is what a lot of you did? I figure I can get paid while sampling. I look forward to Macroing through the crafting xp. I had no idea that some of these animals you were making had these stats on them. Very cool. Do you get more xp for making better creatures or not? I ask because I don't want to spend time experimenting if I am not going to get points for better animals. Let me know.

congrats on joining the holo BE ranks...lol

while it is possible to sample your way through a lair, it can leave your mind pool quite empty if you're only a novice. oh and don't worry about the creatures dying it happens. as you get higher you're able to get more samples off a single creature. i've only recently started doing the sampling through missions there are certain things i know i can and can not do.

as for the creature xp...i believe its like everything else crafting wise. you get a set amount for each type of creature. i'm not sure though, haven't had the chance to keep track of it

Tal-

Repsectfully disagree. There is not a single known instance of a player who has mastered all 33 professions and not unlocked FSCS.

If you have solid evidence to the contrary, post it (maybe in the Jedi forum)

Very much disagree on this point, the devs have said the exact opposite multiple times in several interviews (one on IGN for definite I remember).

Paraphrasing here, but they basically said it wouldnt be very fair to players to do this, "Working towards Jedi for 3 years? Well remember those 6 ewoks you slaughtered 2 years ago? Not very Jedi like was it, no slot for you HAHAHAH!"

Xanda where did I ever insult your class, absolutely never read my post man don't read into it. Tal-N for the three brain cells you have here is the clarification. I won't let you or anyone else kick me around, now go back to your cherios.

Xanda your posts really weren't very helpful to me. To a beginer who knows nothing about a macro, yeah I could see how your post would help however practical advice such as what to sample from is missing. Yes I saw that city trash you were referring to. I found a much better way and that was going up into the mountains of Naboo, and sampling from Kaadu which give 140-167 points per creature. If you tap the lair, you get many samples in. This is the advice I am looking for.

Now that I am on sampling 3 going into sampling 4 BE has gotten alot more reasonable. Prickets for instance give me about 370-430 per creature. I would suggest Xanda that you need to rewrite this FAQ and if I were you I would make it a little less hostile than it actually is. That turns people off fast. Please correct me if I am wrong but your purpose is to server the BE community as a whole. Like it or not, holo BE's are part of that community. I would suggest that by fostering hostility to people who through no fault of their own got this class, a class that may not suit their style, is not the way to server your community.

Oh and Please send me a mail message on Starsider should you ever want to hunt my Jedi, I will be more than happy to send you to an early grave once the FSCS unlocks =)

I tell you what. I'll make a character on Starsider. I'll spend about 1 week leveling it. When I'm done I'll email you. If you ever make jedi, send me a reply and we'll meet up and duel. You'll last about 20 seconds before you are swearing at the computer screen and asking someone to DB you two more times so you can start over.

Warlord:

1) If a bunch of different people read your post and felt it was insulting, then arguing that it's not is not very fruitful correct?

2) Every day dozens and dozens of new holo BE's visit this forum, find their way to the sticky post at the very tip top of the forum, cleverly named "Holocron Bio Engineers all you need to know for your grind", perhaps ask a few specific and intelligent questions, and are able to carry on from there armed with the information that they need. Now what does it say about you that you are unable to do the same?

Clarification-

I'm not representing myself as a PVP God or trying to say my dad can beat up your dad or anything.

What I'm pointing out to you is that if you think that as a Padawan you can send anyone that is half way up an advanced combat profession to an early grave, you're dead wrong. You will get owned. Badly.

As a jedi, you have zero terrain negotiation and no melee defense mods whatsoever. So, all anyone has to do is Dizzy/KD/Beat Down and it's game over. If you are thinking of running, you better hope it's flat in all directions.

Honestly, for everyone but the lucky few, grinding professions to Jedi is a long, tedious process. You haven't even gone silent yet which means you've mastered less than 5 professions. Think about that for a second. You may have to master 25 to unlock. Professions like Pikeman, BH, Droid Engineer...

With all respect, you are in for quitea series of rude shocks in the future...

I'm going to stop floating this post to the top of the forum and let it fade into obscurity. It's gotten way more attention than it deserves already.

Go ahead and make the player and please send the message. You will be the very first person I alert should you wish to fight me. Dieing is a part of this game, and being hunted is one of the things that intrigues me about the Jedi life. So make that player and send me that post and I look forward to Dueling you.

Warlord, by saying "I hate this class" and "I pity whoever gets this class for a holo" you are indeed insulting our profession. Dont get defensive because we are maybe a bit bitter. You were just the straw that broke the camel's back, you plus the 42 ton haystack of other holo be's that whine about how much dna sampling sucks.

I have a Jedi. I mastered 13 to get it and I unlocked on Image Design of all things. Some people get lucky and unlock on 5 or 6. Then there is my friend who did 26. People who think that all they have to do is finish 4 holocrons and poof they are a jedi are fools.

I came to Bio-E because I think it fits my play style perfectly. And I'm having a blast since I made Master on Wednesday last. I could play my Jedi, but as you will see in the *unlikely* event that you get one, they suck. Once the novelty of wandering around whacking stuff with a lightsaber always hearing footsteps worried about being PKd wears off, you'll get to enjoy paying 2M for a krayt pearl to make a decent 3rd, 4th or 5th generation saber that wears out before you can do 1 tree of non-lightsaber skills.

Did you know it costs 15,000,000 just to go from 4/4/4/4 padawan to master padawan? That's right - one box is 15M xp. And then there is Knight and Master.

If you think Bio-Engineer sucks, I can't wait until you try Dancer, Entertainer, Pikeman and Bounty Hunter and start pulling your hair out trying to figure out what the @#%@^% silent profession is.

Your post *was* insulting whether you intended it to be or not.

I look forward to reading your posts in the Jedi forum when you finally go silent. It will be easy to spot:
