Thread: Twice last night!!

I have gotten requests like this and I jsut turn them to novice BE's ive run into. I have too much fun making sellable pets to spend time making a lot of cheapies.
Ironically my experience whilst working up to master was the opposite. I as a BE hadn't a clue what the level 4 titles where BUT whenever I had a level 4 title on I still got several tells from BE's asking for training. I maxxed out my AP XP on the way to master I was training that many BE's.
THis all started from a post like last summer that was put on the CH boards.
BE and CH are both grinding. The BE makes pets and the CH tames and releases. The only thing is, it is not workable. too slow.
There is an incredible amount of crummy information on the CH boards. None of the people that go there can contribute much usable information.

Actually, it's workable and fast xp for the CH, but not workable and too slow for the BE.
He requested these pets from me and as i was novice i only charged 500 a pet. i gathered samples and made templates but before i actually made the pets i game mailed him to ensure he still wanted them.
He said he did so i went ahead.
i mailed him to say they were done, no reply, he was never online for more than a few minutes when i was and after two weeks i gave up chasing him, BE's on radiant beware!!!
don't let people try to knock ur pricing down. I had one idiot one time ask if he could get a pet for free cause he was broke, then he slipped and said he only had 100K. People will try anything and everything to get something cheap
my motto you don't like my pricing go somewhere else
Creature handlers are shocked when you explain the new system. Its something they know little or nothing about. They just know you can make babies so they don't have to hunt for them. Tame, train, release. Its eopies on parade
Actually, most of the CH's you are running in to are Hologrinders that will drop the profession as soon as they master it. They also know very little about the CH either. It is just a "Badge" to them. I am sure you have the same problems with BE grinders. If I see one more "Fastest XP" post in any profession board I will scream. lol The die hard CH's that refuse to give up the borked profession, are well aware of what you guys do. Alot of them have gone BE. Most look in the CH forum to see what got nerfed or broken and then the BE forum to see what you guys are up to. It is good to know what is available to us, the cost, and what is involved on your part. It is how we figure out if a 350k pet is really worth 350k. If it is an easy to whip out clone or does it take alot of generations, luck, and effort?

wow you charge 30k for 2 minutes work?
No, no, no. If you read my other post, I said that I was being sarcastic. This person was a holo-grinder looking for a "crate" of pet deeds or the equivalent, so that he could rack up CH XP quickly. I told him that I charge 30k per pet, with a 1-2 day turnaround, and that his order will be ready in about 90 days at a cost of 1.5 million. Yes, I do charge up to 30k for a non-CH pet, only if I don't know/don't particularly like the person, and it's a lot more than 2 minutes of work when you figure in travel, trying to find the right mobs to sample, getting aggro'd, failing while making either the template or creature, etc. I also said that if someone asked me for a single pet or two, don't care what type, don't care what stats, I usually throw it together for free. 9 times out of 10, the person ends up tipping me for it, anyway.
How much do YOU charge for a non-CH pet, StarBase? Do you make them all custom ordered, so the customer gets the exact type/color of pet that they want? Do you also throw in a freebie Pet Stim-B? Don't criticize my pricing. I know a lot of other BE's that charge quite a bit more than I do. I don't advertise at all, and I'm not trying to steal anyone's business away. 90% of my business is word of mouth and friends/guildies, and they get a significant break on pricing. Consider that 30k as an "annoyance tax". Yeah, I know it sounds pompous and what not, but like I said, I'd rather not sit around and crank out 50 junk pets when there are other, much more fun/productive things that I could be doing.
