Not the same thing at all - sorry, your analogy does not stand. You see, in game, there are no rules about not asking for a BE on your server... 
There are MORE than enough ways to find a BE without being a lazy,inconsiderate moronand posting in here asking for one. We have forum rules not forum see-if-you-feel-like-doing-it-this-ways

All I really wanted to do when this started was to get that stucky back up. Well, Kevm very kindly supplied all of us with the address for the old sticky and that'll have to do. NancyJ posted in her own thread and said that she took the stickies down and she'd talk more about it later. I'm sure there was a good reason for it. Until we get it back those few of us who are willing to help the "lazy morons" at least have the address to give them.

Simply that, you have other forums that are equally appropiate and more specialized in that regard.
It's just easier and keeps the profession forum focused on the topic of the profession instead of the topic of "Can someone make me CL 10 Rancor" thread.
Some of the social professions do actually have a thread meant to help folks find their profession on a given server, that works rather nicely to help folk find the profession as appropiate.

wow, this is the most stuck-up profession in the game. i've never seen so many willing to help so few.
given how many grinders this game has had, and how often people get bored and change professions, an ongoing list of BEs for peeps to go to is nothing more than a wild goose chase to see who ingame is still BE and whos not. personally it would be easier for me if someone from chilastra came here looking for something so i dont have to spend half my freakin day searching through multiple forums, scanning through hundreds of threads, most of which dont apply to me or my profession. a thread looking for a specific pet in the trade forum can get burried in an hour by people selling loot, and i never see it. i also find it helpful when they post here because it gives me alot better idea of what peeps like BH vs rifleman are looking for in a pet,without having to scan through useless threads to me looking for blue rug parts.
i feel sorry for those in this thread that actually call people morons and such. i guess it makes you feel like a big man calling people names from behind a computer, but i doubt you talk like that to people in r/l, so dont do it here. to educated people, your the one that comes off like a moron and anything of value you said in your post is negated.
i think its time for a BE correspondent that just wants to help people, instead of perch themselves up on a special pedestal deciding who deserves help and who doesnt. it shouldnt matter how long youve played the game, how long youve been BE, or even that you are BE, to ask for help from a BE here on ANYTHING.

Our correspondent does help ppl. Why else make the vendor list thread to begin with? If ppl come here looking for help about the profession they get plenyt of help. If they come here looking for a BE for business purposes I point them to that thread.
Don't blame the correspondent for the attitudes of some of the forum members

PurpleWarrior you just posted 3 posts in a row. In my opinion you are trying to take over and spam these boards. These boards are not in place for you to spam posts to get your post count up, and the rules say this. Please try to keep your posts to a minimum, or maybe you should be banned for spamming?

Whoa, there, cowboy! Don't be hating on NancyJ. She's got nothing to do with this. As Kevm said, she made the original sticky and has tried her level best to keep the knuckleheads who like to flame posts from doing so. I don't know what it was like before she was correspondant, because I've not been BE for very long, but I'm guessing if she felt the need to post a warning about flaming, it could get ugly at times.
The problem here is that the rules set up by the powers that be are not being followed becuase the system as it is set up right now doesn't work very well. Nancy has nothing to do with who can get help and who can't. She can't delete posts or lock them and she has to rely on her influence with the regular forum readers/posters to keep us in line. Those few who are out of line, well, I suppose she can make recommendations, but ultimately, she has no control over how they are delt with either.
As for grinders causing the list of BEs to change constantly, this is a totally false assumption. The vast majority of people who hologrind BE will not keep it. Most of the folks on this board really do want to help and are awealth of information to those who want to learn the profession. It is a hard profession to learn if you're going to make pets and a hard profession to keep your supply levels up if you are going to be making tissues. It takes a long time and probably a large guild to amass the levels of meat you need and pet making is a risky business sometimes which takes time to learn as well. However, most hologrinders drop as soon as they make Master or they make a few tissue runs to get a few million and then drop. Those are NOT Bio-Engineers, and I am sure many of the folks on the boards would agree with that assessment. I am also pretty sure that this is probably the profession with the fewest "I quit" threads of all of them. I've been comming to the boards for 2 months and only saw one and I think that guy quit for like a day and came back.
Most of the folks who post here looking for a pet are looking for a Bio-Engineer. How many grinders know the inner workings of how to make a good pet. I've been working on making good pets for a month and I still have questions, which all here are willing to help me out with. Most of the folks looking for factory runs of food additives are going to want to work with you again and again. They are looking for a Bio-Engineer, not a grinder. NancyJ's sticky listed Bio-Engineers on their respective servers, not grinders.
That being outta my system, I agree with you that the current systems in place to find things are not adequate. I do, however, believe that tools such as our old sticky were very useful and that is why I started this thread originally. I also agree with you that seeing some of these posts does help us new guys in forming ideas of what types of pets certain people are looking for. As you can see from the majority of the posts, many are actually willing to help in what limited forms that they can. Those who are willing to flame seem to be gettingignored and those who are willing to debate are having a good discussion.

PurpleWarrior I will again point out that you are trolling and spamming these boards. Your post has no message to get across, you are simply trying to get your post count up. Please stop posting spam and trying to take over our boards.
I see for some reason this is the most picky boards on earth for the no trade forumn thing. It has been pointed out many times that this is the best resource for people searching for BE's. If people find the trade forumns don't help, what would you guys suggest they do. If there are 3+ posts a day here for the same thing, then maybe we should do something to help accomidate these people, after all they are just trying to find our services, why not help them with this?

If I wanted to get my post count up (which, incidentally I don't give a flying fart about) I'd do it in the off-topic forum or in the various off-topic threads that are retained in some other forums.
Nice try at trolling, but a failure nonetheless. You really need a LOT more practise at this.
