i have had so many ridiculous situations happen in the last three days that i have finally relinquished my "newbie helper" title. i can't take it anymore. i never thought i would be one of those people who was all anti "noob", but dude...enough is enough.

on that note...as i have mentioned before, i sell my pets cheap. like10k for a for a good non-ch pet with no specials. the most i sell my non-ch pets for is 20k. anyway, this guy sends me an email asking for 10 dewbacks and wants to know if he can get a deal for buying that many. he wants them to have around 4k-5k health. so, yeah...fine, but i have to go get more voritor dasher dna, and all that jazz. i tell him i will give him the ten for 75k. am i insane for thinking that's a pretty good deal? especially when we all know he's just going to sell them for a higher price. but i gave him the benefit of the doubt, thinking, maybe he has a guild and wants to give them away to new gulid members. he then sends me an email saying "70k and it's a deal"....dude...essentially i am doing you a favor. i have sold twice as many pets as you're asking for in the last two days. so i tell him that i don't feel like haggling over this. that is my price. it's WAY more than resonable. i have to go get voritor dasher dna, i've already been incapped twice by them,, and igo through a quite a bit of brandy for this. then he responds with "as a former BE i know it doesn't cost that much to make pets. but if you won't go below 75k, then fine." i think i responded back to him with "it's not about cost, it's about time, effort, and the money i could actually make with those 20 VD samples"(with no fails of course). i haven't heard back from him, and i haven't decided what i'm going to do. i could be totally out of line here, and it's really only a matter of 5k, but it's the principle of it. and if he really is a former BE he should know, that getting at least 20 VD samples isn't the easiest thing in the world and can be time consuming. not to mention i could use those on other pets that i could actually make decent money off of.

that's fine if you guys want to flame me for whining, 'cause pretty much i am.

I think they are used as bait in fishing? Not entirely sure though.

And as for this thread in general - there are some idiots out there, but there are some 'good' n00bs too. I had a guy asking me to make a pet out of bees and flies, but at least onceI told him it wasn't possible, he didn't give me aggro, and was actually quite appologetic about it.

The problem is that with so much going on, n00bs don't understand the game mechanics (don't even think the devs do ).

Couple that with the lack of social etiquette some people have and it makes for a poor gaming experience. On the plus side, these are the types who tend to quickly get bored and leave.

I enjoy making pets, but I dislike doing orders because then its based on money, deadlines and specifications. I can earn more money doing other things, and therefore I *do* those other things. I tend to make pets only for guildies and a few select clients.The money'snot worth the hassle dealing with some of the idiots out there.

Just wondering this guys name, I had a guy abouta weekago asked me to make him 10 pets regularly. I accepted for 12k each, ie 120k. (normally sell for 15k).I useaVD/VD/NS/NS/NS formula (as I live on naboo NS is really easy to get, and gives specials).

He didn't ask for a proper spec on HAM, just asked what they would be roughly. The templatenormally brings out 4.8-6k depending upon exp.

After I delivered one lot of gurrecks, he asked if I could do another 10 askaadus

but right there you proved my prices are more than reasonable. why is this guy haggling with me over it?

also, yay! my shop is on naboo is well, so i use the NS as well. i usually go VD/VD/NS/DN/DN because the NS have more mind and i prefer disease to poison.

I had someone turn up at my lab asking for enhancements:

Them: I need enhancements.

Me: What sort?

Them: I want to kick *$$ in PVP

Me: Ok. It sounds like you want Melee defense and Bleed Defense.

Them: No, I want dots.

Me: ?. DOT stands for damage over time

Them: That's right. I've been told I need DOTs.

Me: DOTs are an ability of some loot weapons or special attacks. I can't make them...

Them: Oh. What can you make then? How do you apply them to me?

Me: I can make tissues that you can take to a tailor who will make you some clothes which give you bonuses to certain abilities.

Them: They aren't buffs then.

(I am beginning to understand why someone suggested he needed a DOT)

To be fair, he did take some tissues to find a tailor and was very happy with them. He didn't have any money though :-( but he did trade some quite nice Carnivore meat :-)

What Kind of pets do you make?

Firstly, let me say that I dont consider the following to be a stupid question,but it gave me a chuckle....

I was sitting in my lab doing a bit of work when I get a tell...after the initial hi are you busy, this person asks me what cu-pa's ate. I guess I hadnt had my Wheaties(tm) that day cause I didnt understand at first, and responded with something like "well, I think they drop herbivore meat, is that what you meant?" he then says no, no, I have a pet Cu-pa, I want to feed it cause it's hungry, but I dont know what Cu-pa's eat. Stifling the urge to respond with "pet yummies, and I sell em at X a crate"(back before special Chef pet foods came out) I explained that pets could eat anything that he could, including spice. Not the best story, and justa poor uninformed soul needing some information, but, like I said, gave me a laugh (he became a regular petstim customer, so it all worked out )
