Thread: MOUNTS

I dunno about Peko Pekos not being worth training. My Giant Peko Peko has a HAM of 6500 (Hey, I'm still just a novice CH, so I'm pretty impressed with myself for taming it.
Aaaaanyway, I think those would be a neat ride. A bit excessive, but a neat ride. I keep imagining the airlines in the flintstones cartoons with the big seating cabins strapped to the back of pterodactyls. ^_^

ROFLMAO!!!
i think that mountable creatures will also serve as pack animals, so although some may be naturally slow - they may, depending on their size, be able to carry plenty of yur items on their backs. It only seems logical to assume as much, seeing as tho people who want to get around fast would get a swoop bike before they consider a dewback, as one is obviously faster than the other - yet the dewback can carry a whole lot more.

OMG! That's a great idea! I wonder how they would implement it tho...I know that if you store stuff in a droid it gets deleted as soon as you store the droid and/or the game crashes (which is every couple of hours on many servers).
I would LOVE to ride a dewback around and see a big pack full of my items in a saddlebag or something. It would be very realistic. Or maybe I could just walk beside two of my dewbacks and let them both hold a full inventory-worth of items. Would make being a traveling merchant a very viable option for CHs.
Unfortunately, this would probably create lag as the game would have to process all that inventory...Ahh well I want to see this.
Creatures that are seen as mounts in the movies/books:
Eopies, Kaadus, Banthas, Dewbacks, Rontos, Fambaas, Rancors.
Creatures that are similar to ones used as mounts in the movies (that I've personally seen):
Cu Pas, Sharnaffs, Mainaffs, Bols, Guf Drolgs, Malklocs, Bolma, Bolle Bol.
I think it's a safe bet to say that all of the creatures in the first category will be rideable by *someone*... although things like Rancors will probably be restricted to CHs. The second category will likely have some be rideable as well- after all, the use the same skeletal structure and skeletal animations as other rideables, so they should be simple to make rideable, at least from the art perspective (which is the hard part).
I wonder how mount speed will compare to swoop bike speed though? Some creatures are fast enough to more than outrun you on Burst Run, so maybe there is something that will keep pace?
I will probably buy a swoop anyway, but why should mounts be gimpy?
I have a few theories on that:
- Pessimist - When mounts go in, all "mountable" creatures will be lowered in CL across the board so everyone will still be able to ride them.
- Optimist - New low-level versions of the mount creatures will go in with the update so everyone can ride, they will just be limited to certain "types" of mounts (No Killer War Banthas for them)
- Realist - Creatures tamed as mounts will be so docile they will be unable to attack. This will effectively lower their CL (or have them "converted" into mounts) so they can be used but without everyone taking their dewbacks into war.
